Studio L Dance

Review: My daughter participated in a dance program at Studio L which concluded with a recital. Parents were offered the option to purchase the DVD which would include the entire performance of the show you chose for $60.00. When I received the completed DVD I watched through and noticed that they left the complete finale out. I contacted Studio L on July 1, 2013 stating how disappointed I was that they left the finale out and asked for a refund as I had purchased the DVD because the entire show was going to be on it which it was not. They responded on July 2nd apologizing for my disappointment in the video and stated that [redacted], the manager of the office, was out for for the remainder of the week and would assist me when she returned the following. They followed up on July 9th asking me if I would bare with them a couple of weeks to as they requested to have copies of the finale made so I could have one. They said they would call once they were ready. I followed up stating that I would like that appreciate their efforts in trying to resolve the issue, I also asked them if it would be ready by August 1st and when it came in to please mail it to me. They responded OK. After waiting a month (approximately 2 weeks past their requested time) I emailed them on August 8th stating my total disappointment for not having the DVD of the finale a month later. I requested that my paid amount of $60 for the original DVD be refunded. I told them to mail a check to my home address and stated if they wanted the original DVD back they should provide me with a return envelope to send it back to them.Desired Settlement: Initially, I said I would wait the requested time of 2 weeks for the copy of the finale which should have been on the original DVD I purchased for $60.00, after waiting 2 weeks past that and not hearing any word, apology, or notification of further delay from [redacted] or another other staff member at Studio L, I simply want a refund of the original payment of $60.00.

We have received the letter from you in regards to [redacted] complaint. We have tried from the beginning of her complaint to address her concern about not having the finale of the recital on the DVD. The Finale which she is requesting is an additional part of the show that we have the students perform in an added performance at the show for the audience to stand up and applaud. However, we did inquire about adding the finale after her complaint, the videographer came back to us with a price of $2200.00 to make the change. We explained to Mrs. [redacted] through emails that at this time we will not be able to change the ending and adding the finale because of the expense. . We have over 600 families and did not receive any complaints from anyone in regards to this issue.. At this point I spoke with [redacted] she decided she wanted her money back. We then issued her a check to her for the full amount and had her keep the originally DVD.At your request we will put on any future DVD forms that the finale will not be in the DVD. I am rejecting this response because:

While I have resolved with the business and have received my money back I would like to document for the record that I was never contacted about it being an additional expense nor was it never said that the finale was not part of the performance. The finale was part of this performance and had it not been it wouldn't have been in the show to begin with. I am happy to have moved on to another dance studio with a more courteous and professional office manager.
