Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
The response back from *** was inaccurate and untrue. I never spoke to her about a 6mo stay nor was I aware of *** using upon arrival. When being made aware of *** needing to leave the home. I contacted *** directly via phone, at which time she did not return my call, however, had her house assistant contact me. The house assistant (***) indicated to me as well as *** that she had used prior to arrival of entering home. After understanding the situation in detail by *** i.eno drug test taken at time of arrival, *** using upon arrival, upon day one the concern about *** using, etc.. I ended the conversation with *** requesting a refund. At which time, *** directed me back to ***. I then spoke to *** with regards to "only" a refund and was then redirected to owner of the home (*** A.), which he was not aware of all the details/facts of the situation, but very confident in ***'s ability as she is also a recovering addict herself.
At this time, I continue to request a refund as previously indicated in my original request. I'm requesting the refund due to the simple fact, should a drug test been taken at time of *** entering the home. ***, would have failed and my check would have not been taken and she would not have been excepted into the home. To bring someone into the home and have reservations day one of drug use, take money that hasn't been funded by the client directly, drug test them day three then request that they leave within the same week is UNACCEPTABLE and consumer FRAUD!
The *** *** offered no services other than taken money in a vulnerable situation and SHAME ON THEM for doing so, as they understand drug addiction and the role it plays on loved ones. We all know a client entering a home does not have the funds to pay for living and until then, The *** *** drug tests that client before taking money that doesn't belong to either party!
Regards,
*** ***

In response to the enclosed letter; [redacted] became a resident of The [redacted] on 2-**-14. At the time of her arrival [redacted] did not appear to be under...

the influence of drugs or alcohol. Had she been under the influence she would have been asked to make other arrangements for the night. Your letter is the first I have heard about [redacted] having any knowledge of [redacted] using drugs on that day. The only conversation I had with Ms. [redacted] on 2-**-14 was to let her know [redacted] had not yet arrived at [redacted]; Ms. [redacted] made no mention that [redacted] had used. We were able to verify [redacted]'s whereabouts and why she was late arriving.
We were aware that [redacted] had used during the week prior to moving in to [redacted]. Had we drug tested her upon her arrival the test would have been positive. In this situation we generally wait a week until all drugs are out of a residents system; this gives us a negative baseline test.
During my conversations with Ms. [redacted] I encouraged her and [redacted] to look at the website and read over the rules to be certain this was a sober living home [redacted] wanted to sign up for. Ms. [redacted] and I had discussed a 6 month commitment instead of the 90 day, I did make changes on the contract.
While [redacted] was at [redacted], after signing a contract, she used drugs and brought drugs into the house. That is grounds for immediate eviction. Our rules and website are very clear regarding our refund policy.
