August 9, 2016TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:I am writing in response to a complaint you have received from Mr. [redacted] ([redacted]) [redacted] regarding service fees he was charged.Let me start off by explaining his policies were on an automatic monthly withdrawl which carries a 3% service fee for any client. At...

the time it was put on the monthly payment plan Mr. [redacted] had voiced a concern that he was going to be away when his insurance was due and wanted to know how he could avoid having it cancel if he was not here to pay it. He was told he could go onto a monthly payment plan but that there was a service fee of 3%. He agreed to this and signed the form required to proceed and also supplied us with a void cheque from his bank account I have supplied Mr. [redacted] a copy of this form which he swears he did not sign but he did. This was in 2014, he had 3 policies with us, an auto policy. a farm policy and a commercial policy. all 3 were put onto the payment plan. From that date on he received invoices stating what his monthly payment would be and also showing the 3% service fee on each statement. He attended my office in the spring of 2016 and stated that he never agreed to the service fee and 'hat we were stealing his money and wanted all the service fees charged refunded to himself. Myself and other staff members tried to explain how the service fee worked and that he had signed for it but he was very unreasonable and would not accept our explanation and even went as far as to call the insurance company himself where he was told the same thing. He told us he wanted off the payment plan and that he was not going to pay for any more insurance until he got his money back. I told him we could take it off the payment plan but would not give him back the service fee for the time he was on monthly payment plan. He told me he would not pay us or the insurance company any more money until be got his money back, I told him his policies were coming up for renewal and if they were not on payment plan and he did not pay them the policies would cancel. On March 24, 2016 he brought me in a letter that stated he had switched insurance companies,April 21/16 he came back into the office, I gave him a copy of the front and back of the form he signed, he still would not agree he signed it or that be was made aware of the service fee, he was very rude & I told him that him coming to the office over & over again and being so rude was getting to be close to harrasment and if he continued I would need to call the police. He sat down in one of our chairs and refused to leave so I called the RCMP and a member came to the office and after sometime finally got him to leave.I have no idea how he gets the 6% he says be was charged, it was a 3% service charge on each of his policies. I am attaching copies of this form as well as some copies of the payment statements he would have received showing the service fee.I do not know what else to do in this matter. He has cancelled all policies through our office. If you require any further information please contact our office. Sincerely.STUTCBURY INSURANCE 2016 LTD [redacted]OWNER/MANAGER
