Owner

To Whom it may concern,
This letter is in response to the complaint filed by a Ms*** regarding her wedding dress purchaseMs*** purchased her dress from us in January When we were checking dates in our retail portal, we saw that there was a dress in the correct size
and color that Ms*** had chosen that would be coming into the Manufacturer's distribution location on the *** *** in MarchHowever when we went to place the order, that paticular dress was no longer available for us as the retail portal is open to any authourized seller of that manufacturer and anyone can "grab" the dresses for their sale at any timeSo we placed the order with the next best date available to usNormally wedding dresses can take 6-months to come in as they are all made overseas in *** on an "as ordered" basis.
We did not at any time give Ms*** dress to any other brideFirst, we would never do that without contacting the bride and getting her permission firstSecond, we have yet to receive her dress from the manufacturer(currently we are at month in the manufacturing time).
We explained to Ms*** that the paticular Manufacturer had incurred delays due to a dock strike at the *** *** *** docks where all of there product ships in from ***It was a well documented event on all the news channelsWe were trying to be pro active in letting the bride know that there were some delays but we had been assured from the manufacturer that the dress would be here in plenty of time for the wear date, which we have in our files as 10-17-We have no knowledge of a change in the date of the weddingThe only notes in her file are in regard to requesting a certain seamstress and the number of a bridesmaids dressOn all of our contracts that every customer signs when purchasing anything, it states in red that all sales are final and there are no refunds due to the fact that once the orders are placed, we, as a retailer can not return these items to the manufacturerMs*** signed this purchase agreement as wellSo as far as a full refund, this is not possibleThe belts that she purchased from the store and took with her also fall under this contractthey were paid in full and she was satisfied with the productTherefore, again a full refund is not warranted.
We regret that Ms*** feels we did not communicate with her but we gave her all the information that we have/had available to usAs a specialty boutique, Customer service is of the utmost importance to usWe strive to do our very best to provide everything our brides may needWe did hold up our contractual agreement and although we understand the bride may now have some scheduling conflicts, this is not an issue that is in our control.
Thank you for your timeSincerely,
*** ***

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
The depiction that Stylish Impressions has communicated with me is false.  At no time has the business contacted me about the status of my order unless I first called them repeatedly.  Additionally, yes, I signed a their sales order, however I was told that my order would be received in 2 weeks to 2 months.  I would never have signed anything that had a large lead time.  Receiving the dress in time for "wear date" is unacceptable.  That could mean the day before! The wedding is in 3 weeks and I do not have a dress.  On top of everything else, their part time employee that misrepresented the product ordered me a size 24...I am a size 8 pant and 12-14 dress.  The measurements for the size 24 say that my hips should be 50" and my bust 45", so needless to say, alterations are definitely going to be needed, if in fact they can reconstruct it to that degree.  This vendor has done nothing even remotely in the way of customer service or attempted to make this transaction smooth.  I did not bring up any attitudes in my complaint, due to the fact that your instructions were to leave them out.  There are 2 sides to every story.  I have my own seamstress who was prepared to alter the dress for me based on the 2 week to 2 month lead time.  Stylish Impressions has now made it impossible for me to use anyone but them.   I offered to nullify this transaction and to mutually let it go, but they will have no part of that scenario,  therefore, I stand firm that they should alter the dress at no charge to compensate for their employee misrepresenting the product and their service, as well as the inconvenience and lack of customer service, and the stress!
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Ms. [redacted] came to my store on Thursday, July 23 to pick up her altered gown.  I feel that this complaint was premature.  She looked great in her dress and as she was leaving I asked her if she was happy and she said yes.  As I said in my response before I am in this business to make everyone look great for their event including Ms. [redacted].  She has her dress in plenty of time for her event and altered to her perfectly.

Review: I recently got engaged in January. Within a week I scheduled a dress appointment at Stylish Impressions. After trying on a few dresses I fell in love with one. My mom right away paid for it in full, over $1200 and this included 2 belts to bling up the dress. Those alone were $500. When we finished paying the owner Diane, checked to see when the dress would be here. She said " I see one coming in, in march, i'll grab/select that one for you." Once march came around, I hadn't received a phone call saying it was here, so I called and they said it wasn't here yet, but it shouldn't take much longer. April came and went, may came and went. I called again and they said that the docks have been on strike but it would be coming in shortly. June came and went, but I called in the middle of june. Now I was getting upset. I am disappointed with the lack of communication between the store and the bride. When I called I spoke to an employee, she said that because the docks were on strike, my dress had gone to another bride with a sooner wedding date. You could imagine how irritated I was when I heard, my dress went to someone else! I right away said to her "So if my dress went to someone else, then I should be able to cancel seeing how they haven't started to make my dress." She said that as soon as the order gets placed they start right away, but how could the dress that was "made just for me" be given to someone else? That didn't seem right to me.

When shopping for Mother of the Bride dresses, I spoke to the owner at that store and explained what had happened. She right away said that, the store cannot give your dress to anyone without being contacted first. If stylish impressions had called me saying " we have a bride with the same dress you have but her wedding is sooner, would you mind if you waited for another one of those dresses and give her the one that was made for you?" I would of allowed it because no bride deserves to have that much stress before their wedding.

Being July, I have not received one phone call from them and I do not feel confident in their services. My fiancé and I wanted to move up the wedding and apparently we cant do that because the date for the arrival of the dress will never be a set in stone kind of date. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and the way they conduct their services. This is not the experience I wanted to have with my wedding dress shopping!Desired Settlement: I want stylish impressions to take everything back and give me a refund. At this point I have decided to wear my moms dress with some alterations because we are planning on moving up our date. I have been going through so much stress because of this and the lack of empathy from them just confirms that they are only in it to make cash. I have already picked up the two belts that cost us $500 because I was afraid if I didn't, they would get lost or that they would give them to someone else without asking me first. The bottom line is that I do not feel comfortable waiting for my dress, so I am asking that I please get a refund for the entire purchase. I will bring back the belts because they are no use to me anymore. They are still in original bag, never opened. I just want to put this behind me and get back the money spent on something that was promised but never received.

Thank you for your time,

Business

Response:

To Whom it may concern,

Review: At the end of March I ordered and paid for a dress in cash and was told by the salesperson that I would receive my dress in 2 weeks to 2 months. After 2.5 months, I telephoned the business and was told that the dress was not due to ship from CA until 6/25/2015. I was also told that the salesperson that took my order only works about once a month and had the wrong information regarding delivery. I stated that I never would have ordered a dress with this much of a lead time, when the wedding is July 31st. We agreed that they would call the manufacturer each week to follow up, which was done. On July 1st, I telephoned to find out that the dress did not ship and is now expected to ship on July 6 or 7th - it takes approximately a week to arrive, so hopefully it would be in by the 14th or 15th of July. The person I was speaking with told me that the owner could not be reached until July 2nd (today) and that she would talk to the owner to see how they could expedite the order. I called back today and was told that the owner would need to call the manufacturer but that would have to wait until Monday. This is unacceptable to me. No matter where this owner is, there is no reason a telephone call cannot be made or that she cannot give authorization to the staff filling in for her to make this call. This is extremely poor customer service with a total lack of a sense of urgency to solve an increasingly large problem.Desired Settlement: Due to the fact that I am now boxed in with using this companies alterations department, I feel it is fair to offer me free alterations on an expedited basis due to the lack of urgency or need to follow through on this business owner's part.
