Subaru of Midland Odessa Reviews (%countItem)

I had the worst experience ever at Midland Subaru. We spent about 2 hours trying to work out a deal but never did. All we wanted was to see the numbers to see if a deal could be made. They first wanted all of our info to include our SS number. We refused to give our information until a deal was reached. The GM then walked out of office, and called us confrontational. We got up and left, bought the same car in Lubbock the next day.

Dealer has not sent Title or documents to obtain title for vehicle purchased approx. 45 days ago. (used vehicle paid in full). I Am unable to register or plate vehicle without the title and/or documents. Several unsavory communications have been received from dealer, though none of a professional nature or in regards to the title.
This is absolutely unacceptable business practice.

Please see attached response.

I bought a vehicle at Basin Subaru in Midland, Tx in March of 2018 and until this day have been able to receive my license plates after eight months. *** continues do give me the run around and refuses to make this right.I gave 7,000.00 dollars down on a vehicle that is not even registered.

I visited Basin Subaru on 10-14-2017 to purchase a low mileage 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe. My wife and I spent the half a day negotiating and completing paperwork. We paid a substantial down payment almost half the car and left with a retail sales contract financing the rest. A couple day later the salesman called and said "We lowered your payments! Come back and re-sign!". I told him I wasn't interested in a "better deal" I will just stick with the deal I signed when I purchased the vehicle. Another week went by and Orchid Hill from the dealer finance department called and said they would now need W2's for the deal. I specifically asked her and the sales manager if there was an issue with the original loan and was told there "was not". Although highly suspicious I went to the dealership to deliver the additional information. Approximately another week goes by and a request for 3 months of banking statements were now needed. My suspicions grew yet I took the time to redact personal information and purchase dollar amounts form the bank statement leaving the information the bank and the dealership would need to see specific deposit amounts. The bank statements showed I deposited twice as much over the three month period than the credit application. The day before the 1st payment was due I called to make the initial payment and it was refused. Almost 7 weeks passed until Orchid Hill says the deal was never funded and I could pay off the vehicle cash. I explained if that is the case I would not pay the fees they tacked on to the deal. I offered to pay for the vehicle minus the fees. I never heard back, without warning the Basin Subaru repossessed my vehicle on 12-21-17 and refuses to return the money I paid toward my vehicle. They would not respond to emails, phone calls, or Revdex.com complaints. I than filed complaints with the Texas DMV Licensing Division and the Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner. Both State Agencies have found Basin Subaru in violation of licensing and finance laws and 100% wrong and at fault in this case. To date 8/24/18 I still haven't received my money.
If you read the google reviews, Dealer Rater or the Revdex.com reviews of Basin Subaru you would be amazed, as I am, they are allowed to defraud this many consumers and continue operations under the Subaru name or in the State of Texas. You will see many reviews of scams Basin Subaru, Pete Martinez, Sammy R and Orchid Hill have perpetrated. Fraud and Deceptive Trade Practices are the only thing being dealt at Basin Subaru dealership. It is so egregious it should be criminally investigated by the authorities to protect consumers. Why does Subaru of America, The State of Texas and the City of Midland continue to facilitate this fraudulent business by allowing it to operate? If you are interested in exploring a class action lawsuit or reporting these alleged crimes to the Midland Police Department ,as a group, I can be reached at *** .

Purchased a vehicle in August of 2017. We have yet to receive the licence plates for this vehicle. We have visited dealership each time the temporary plates expired only to receive excuses as to why we have not received our permanent plates. They referred us to the district officer only to be told that the Midland dealership is responsible for getting the plates and they were giving us the run around. Approx,. one month ago (July 2018), we were told that they found the "lost paperwork", which was never an explanation before, and that we would have our plates within 2 weeks. On August 8, 2018, I went back to the dealership to ask about the plates only to be told they had to file for a lost title. Once I started questioning General Manager *** he began verbally threatening bodily harm.

I co-signed for my 21yr old son to buy a vehicle about 5 months ago. The dealership told us they would mail the documents that we signed and they never did. My son went by the dealership and made several attempts to get the paperwork showing that we bought the car, but they would not give us anything. I called the bank that financed the car and they only sent me a copy of the contract that we signed. I went to try and trade in the car and the dealership where we went to(not Subaru) told us that the car was involved in a major car accident and had structural damage and the car was not supposed to be re-sold and that the car was only worth 6,000.00. It was sold to us at 29,000.00!! I tried to call the Subaru dealership manager and he would not take my calls therefore I e-mailed him and confronted him about this and I asked him to make this right cause he had taken advantage of my son and sold him a damaged car. The manager called my husband on the phone and was very rude to him and after my husband told him that our friend at a different dealership ran a report, where we were trying to trade in the car and it showed structural damage and should not have been sold to us. He refused to make things right and said he would not take the car back. He said we knew about the damaged car because he showed us pictures, but he lied, he never showed us pictures. Now the car is broke down on July 6th. The owner then offered to take the car back as a trade in but not at the price he sold it to us. The banker that financed the vehicle was rude to me and made excuses for the dealership then he told me that he was going to tell the owner of the dealership to call me because he knows him. I never received a call from the owner. After several attempts I gave up on calling them. What can we do? If we let the car go, we will get bad credit and the banker said he would sew us. This is not right! After going through all the Revdex.com reviews, there is something definitely not right!! The owner and manager of this dealership need to be stopped from all this FRAUD!!!

Hello,
I am writing you today to let you how disappointed I am with Basin Subaru. My wife and I purchased a 2018 Outback from Basin mid Feb 2018 our sales person was ***, we needed to schedule oil change as of 4-18-18 we had approx. 5500 miles on car and it started to have an issue with front end. I contacted service dept. and asked for day they could look at the issue and change the oil (first change), I requested Loaner as I was told/promised that if I required more than an “ten Min” fix I would get a loaner, due to fact that I purchased at Basin vs. competitor scoggin dickie in Lubbock, the service rep ( would not give name) and told me to call back next, week which I did, same story no loaners avail. I explained that I lived in Big Spring and to get car to them would be a burden and require two vehicles to be driven to Midland to drop car off and evaluated and expected it to be more than a ten min fix. After several calls finally scheduled service for 4/25, I called the evening of 4/24 to ck on loaner as advised by service rep “Antonio”, No loaner I asked for service sup. (*** 4/27/18) and he explained to me that they needed to assess the car before determining loaner need first, and they had “protocol” to follow, I explained none of that had been explained and I figured they would need to trouble shoot the front end issue to determine the exact issue. I told him I could drop the car off over the weekend and have it avail Monday AM. Car was dropped off and I heard nothing, I called Tuesday afternoon 5/1/18 and they did not know and took my # to call me back “in 5 mins”….never happened, I called again Thursday 5/3 and was told by *** that the “tire is off the front of the car and they are looking at it on the rack”…..he took my # and promised a call back…..never happened. Friday 5/4/18 called again spoke with man named “***” who said he did not know and no Tech’s avail to discuss…..I asked for call back from ***…..never happened. Monday 5/7 called and *** answered phone for service dept.….she recognized my name from previous calls and placed me on hold to go ask one tech that was there if he had any info on my car…..of course they did not and she took my info and promised a call back asap that day…..never happened. I called North America Subaru Corp and spoke with an rep named *** who promised to get on my case and contact Basin Subaru and *** directly and call me back that was Monday 5/7/18 and today is Wednesday 5/9/18 12:08 PM as I type….no word from anyone from Subaru….. Please advise as I want to bring my title and car back and get my money back as this is not what I was told when I purchased the car. I reached out to my sales person and she told me she would look into it initially and the 2nd week (this week) I called and she told me she had left the dealership due to all the service issues and is now working at a different dealership? I called her personal cell which she gave me and she said nothing specific but that the new owners did not care about the customers as previous owners/mgt did and she had to leave the “toxic” environment for her own health/safety? Whatever that means but I shelled out over $32K for this Outback and now it’s not working well, Service is non-existent, and No one is communicating anything about the status of my car and NO loaner provided at any point along the way!

I traded in my 2008 Subaru Outback in May of 2016 to Basin Subaru and purchased a 2016 Outback. I owned the trade-in outright but had misplaced the title to the car. At the time of purchase, I notified the salesperson, and they had me fill out paperwork to get a copy of the title. Fast forward 6.5 months and I get a call from an employee at Basin Subaru notifying me that they were having 'difficulty' getting a copy of the trade-in's title. It was titled in New Mexico. After speaking with the employee, I find out that Basin Subaru had sold my trade-in in late June, without having the title transferred out of my name (and without having the title AT ALL). The new owners had been driving it for 6+ months while it was still under my name. That is breaking all types of laws and left me, unbeknownst, liable for anything that could have happened with the car under the operation of the new owners. I tried several times to speak with a manager to find out why they'd sold my vehicle without obtaining the title and doing a transfer. None of my phone calls were returned, I had to take a day off work and drive to Hobbs, NM to do Basin Subaru's job for them. This is terrible business practice, and they had zero interest in accountability for their failure to adhere to standard law and practices when selling a trade-in.

Took my brand new Subaru into dealership (after waiting a week for an appointment to open up) because blind spot detection light came on. Two days passed. Went to pick car up and they said it had not been worked on yet, at all. But for the past two days, when I called I was repeatedly told it was being worked on and just needed more work. Needless to say, my car was never repaired and I did not appreciate being lied to so blatantly. Worst service experience of my life.

I purchased a used 2013 Lexus on April 1, 2017. I refinanced the vehicle in August 2017. I requested a refund for the cancellation of the extended warranty and Gap policy when I refinanced. I was told by Basin Subaru to submit the cancellation requests to ***. I sent the requests with the required cancellation forms and proof of payoff. *** told me at the end of August 2017 she would process the refund. She did say it could take unto 90 days.
So at the end of November, I still have not received the cancellation refund. I called the Basin Subaru store and was told all of the accounting functions were move the parent location in Corpus Christi Subaru. So, I called that location - numerous call - lots of messages - it took almost 2 weeks before I had a name of who to contact and was told to email everything to a *** - she would process the refund. I emailed everything on Dec 12, 2017. I followed up with a telephone call. I was told about a week later - by the receptionist that the refund was being processed and it would take up to 90 days. I also had left a message with *** - the Office Manager to confirm the refund was in process. The call was never returned.
So, again - no refund. I called Corpus Christi Subaru - last week - left messages for both *** and ***. No on returned my calls. I also sent an email to the owner and again no response.
It has been over 7 months since this process has started. I am worried about my refund - will it be calculated from the August 2017 dates or??
I have purchased numerous vehicles from Basin Subaru - until this I have never had any issues - none. But because of this, I do not know if I would ever purchase another vehicle from them.

The customer won't get a full refund. It was be prorated. That's how the gap and service contract providers give back the refund.

I purchased a vehicle in Jan 2016 with the purchase of the vehicle was Gap insurance. My vehicle was deemed a total loss in August 2017, come to find out Basin Subaru never submitted my Gap insurance information so I couldn’t make a claim! I was told by *** and another employee that Basin Subaru would pay the remainder of the vehicle off. It’s been 5 months and there hasn’t been a payment made to the leinholder from Basin Subaru, and Sammy the General Manager will NOT call me back. I’ve offered to even pay part of what’s left on my car if they would make a payment to the lein holder and they will not do it!!!

AUTO DEALER FRAUD
I went into Basin Subaru on 10-14-2017 to purchase a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe that had 2300 miles when I picked it up. My wife and I spent the half a day there doing paperwork and getting the dealer to finance. We left with a retail sales contract and conditional sales agreement after they took our $10,000 down payment. We had supposedly received a loan through Exeter Finance which we had a loan number and account set up with the institution. A couple day later the salesman called and said "We lowered your payments! Come back and re-sign!". I told him I wasn't interested in a "better deal" I will just stick with the deal I signed when I purchased the vehicle. Another week or so went by and Orchid Hill from the dealer finance department called and said they would now need W2's for the deal that we supposedly already had. I specifically asked her and the sales manager if there was an issue with the original loan and was told there "was not". Although highly suspicious and reluctant I went to the dealership to deliver the requested additional information. Approximately another week goes by and then a request for 3 months of banking statements were now needed. My suspicions grew further yet I took the time to redact personal information and purchase dollar amounts form the bank statement leaving the information the bank and the dealership would need to see specifically deposits. After almost 7 weeks Orchid Hill now says the deal was never funded and I could either find my own financing or pay for the vehicle cash. I explained in either case I would not pay the fees they tacked on to the deal for everyone to make their commission if I had to do all the work. I offered to pay for the vehicle minus the fees. I never heard back for a four days until without warning the dealership repossessed the vehicle on 12-21-17 and has kept my $10,000 down payment. The company they hired to repossess the vehicle refused to show any proper paperwork to repossess or wait for the police to arrive as asked. Instead he put his machine down on my foot and continued to back up attempting to break my leg had I not moved it at the last minute. I am a disabled veteran and one of my disabilities is in my right foot that was attempted to be run over by the tow truck driver. The operator breached the peace to come on my property and take the vehicle without providing any paperwork and assaulting me and causing bodily harm.
If you read the google reviews for the dealership this is how they do business you will see no less than 10 reviews of scams the dealership has pulled. Deceptive trade practices are the only thing being dealt at Basin Subaru / Basin Mitsubishi dealership. It is so egregious it should be criminally investigated by the proper authorities to protect consumers. *** feels he can rewrite Texas and Federal law how he sees fit to benefit him and the dealership. I was told they would return part of my down payment "if and when" they decide and I should get a lawyer to get my money back because they already have one. This shows the intent to defraud consumers out of down payments from yo-yo financing and "We got you a better deal come resign" scams if they immediately lawyer up to force customers to sue for their money. It has been over 48 hours and I have not received a phone call to pick up my $10,000 down payment. There were important documents, personal belongings and cash in the vehicle and they will not return any of it.

On 11/20/2015 I purchased a vehicle with a Rapid Warranties LLC Deluxe coverage warranty from this dealer. Rapid Warranties and Basin Subaru are owned by the same owners Mr. *** and ***. The warranty contract states that my coverages are good for 24,000 miles or 24 months whichever is first and to be serviced if issues arise at Basin Subaru.

My vehicle is still within both warranty limits. On 8/17/2017 I took my Jeep Grand Cherokee in to Basin Subaru for a transmission issue. When I arrived *** the service advisor is who assisted me with my vehicle issue. I informed Mr. about the issue. I called him in 3 days and he confirmed that his mechanic confirmed I needed another transmission and they would get one ordered and have me fixed up within 2 weeks. Aweek from that date went by and I went to check on my vehicle and at this time Mr. says I only needed a relay and my vehicle was repaired. I asked for my keys and didn't even leave the parking lot to know my vehicle was never repaired. I immediately returned to speak to Mr. and let him know of the same issue,. He then sent his lead mechanic with me for a test drive. His Lead mechanic confirmed I needed a new transmission and he would inform Mr. to order one. I gave him 3 days from that date before I contacted him again and Mr. still had not ordered one. I have went to Basin Subaru numerous times to speak with Mr. and he says that Rapid Warranties has not made any contact with him. I contacted them myself and spoke to *** and she informed me he has never contacted them. When I also call Rapid Warranties and I can never speak to a Manager. I always get the same similar voice of a female that was *** but gives me a different name when I ask who is speaking and *** is always in a meeting and never returns my phone calls. As far as Mr. he always says Mr. *** is gone and he can't get a hold of him. My vehicle has been there almost 2 months and still nothing from Basin Subaru or Rapid Warranties LLC their sister company. They have not once contacted me for status or updates on my vehicle. I have had to keep going in person to Basin Subaru and calling Rapid Warranties with no solution to my problem.

Subaru of Midland Odessa Response

Rapid Warranty doesn't fully cover transmissions, They cover certain parts on the transmission, So if the vehicle needs a new transmission that would be something that the service adviser should tell the customer and the customer would have to decide from there if they want to purchase a new transmission for their vehicle.

Customer Response

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: Due to Basin Subaru knowing exactly what warranty they are selling to customers but not wanting to honor it. The Rapid warranty Contract is attached stating the parts they cover which are clearly printed by each part in a transmission. The only parts they do not cover per their contract is gaskets and seals which I have no problem paying for. Gaskets and seals amount to a few dollars. I did speak with the service adviser *** from basin Subaru and I requested that he have my vehicle transmission opened up and broken down to pinpoint the actual parts that need replacing because Rapid Warranty does have the list of all parts that go in the internal part of a transmission covered per their contract. *** did confirm to me he doesn't have a technician who can perform that task. On 11/17/17 my vehicle will have been at Basin Subaru 3 months and they still have not even tried to service my vehicle knowing that they are reading the same contract I am.

Regards

Subaru of Midland Odessa Response

The entire transmission is not cover under the warranty. The service adviser should have told the customer that the entire transmission is not cover under rapid warranty. Now if the owner of the Basin store decided to help the customer out and get a transmission for the customer, that would be on the owner of the store. But as far as the Rapid Warranty covers it would not be the entire transmission.

Customer Response

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:In my previous dispute I submitted the Rapid warranty contract Basin Subaru is selling. In the contract it covers all internal parts of the transmission. As far as Basin Subaru goes they have not diagnosed the main malfunction of my vehicle so they can't tell me I need a full transmission until they open it up. On 11/17/17 it will be 3 months that Basin Subaru has had my vehicle and not made any effort to fully diagnose it. If they would open up the transmission they will eventually find the issue if they can perform that task. On Rapids contract they cover all internal transmission parts minus gaskets and seals so once Basin is ready to open my transmission up they can notify me and I would be happy to look at the internal of all parts when they do. As far the person from Basin Subaru responding to my disputes I understand the same owner owns both Rapid Warranty and Basin Subaru so please respond as Basin Subaru and not as Rapid Warranty. Rapid Warranty had its chance to dispute or respond to my complaints to Revdex.com but they didn't so that complaint number is now closed. So Basin Subaru can you open up the transmission to diagnose the problem or not? That's the first step you need to do and you have had 3 long months to think about that. If you can do that then Rapid Warranty would know what exactly they need to cover and I also would know what I would need to do on my part if anything. But we can't move forward with anything until you start on your side so the ball is in your court and has been for 3 months. One more thing your service adviser *** never responds back or gives me any answers to any questions.

Regards
