Salesman Frederick Mongeon
My husband and I went to Subaru Outaouais and met up with Frederick Mongeon. He was courteous, professional and very knowledgeable about all of the vehicles.

Off we went for a test drive with Frederick. Federick made me try out the vehicle in country roads, highways, etc., so that he could prove that the Subaru could handle the road in every condition, as it was during the winter.

Frederick answered all of our questions. We were very impressed with him and the vehicle. We did not feel rushed in any way. We would recommend that you seek out this young man.

Our Ascent was purchased on November 22, 2019. During the initial demonstration of the Ascent it was necessary to have technicians work on the systems to get them working. The Ascent came equipped with Remote Starter, with a trailer hitch, 7 pin trailer wiring harness, illumination kit and other non-electrical accessories.
A few days after taking delivery the car would not start in the morning. We have a lithium ion jump starter and started the car which we drove for about 45 minutes to charge the battery.
For the next two mornings the car would not start and we jumped it.
We took the car back to the dealer for service. The dealership said it was fixed and we drove it home.
After the next morning or two the car was dead so we jumped started it and returned it to the dealership. They replaced the battery, said all was well so we drove it home.
After the next morning or two the car was again dead so we jumped started it and took it back to the dealership for service. They reprogrammed the computer. They said that fixed the problem so we drove it home.

After the next morning or two the car would not start so we jump started it and drove it to the dealership.
We met with '***', the Financial Manager, to try and cancel the deal as we had a Lemon. He was unhelpful and told us to deal with the dealership owner who was not available. Or we could deal with ***.
I contacted *** and spoke to a customer support person and outlined all the problems we were having with our new Accent. I explained that we had bought the vehicle as a tow vehicle and then purchased a new travel trailer for a planned 3 month trip to the southern United States.
I asked him if it would be possible to get a buyback or vehicle replacement. He said that was not possible and told me to deal with the dealership again.
I called my lawyer's office but it was closed for the holidays.
I opened an account with ***, ***, ***. I outlined the problems with our new Accent.
The next time we tried to start the car it was dead. We made an appointment with the dealership for Thursday December 27th.
We have to jump start the car most of the time to drive it. On Sunday, December 23, 2018 the car was dead in the morning and again at 10:30 p.m. On Christmas day the car was dead and the key would not open the door. We could not pop the hood to jump start.
On the morning of December 26 we called Subaru roadside assistance. *** came and fished a rod into the car to release the door.
We left the hood unlatched so we could jump start the car the next morning as the car will be dead and maybe the key will not open the doors.
On Thursday, December 27, 2018 we boosted the car and took it to the dealership. They will hold the car for a day or two to be sure it has been fixed. They gave us a loaner car (2019 Impreza). We gave *** a copy of this document and he promised to give the copy to ***, General Manager and Business Owner. *** assured us that all transacts regarding the car problems have been documented at the dealership.
On Friday December 28, 2018 I called ***, ***, to get a case number following my call to them on Friday December 21. At which time I had outlined the problems. On December 28, 2018 I talked to '***? who checked for the information but found nothing. She listened to my description of the problems with the car and issued a Case Number ***. She told me she would contact ***'s Regional Rep who is responsible for Subaru Outaouais.
On December 28th the dealership phoned and told me that they had replaced the rear hatch module and would keep the car until December 31 to be sure the problem was fixed.
On Monday December 31st I called the dealership and spoke to *** who informed me that the car would not start again. He wanted to keep the car and would not be ready until later in the week. He said they would replace the Remote Starter to rule that device out as the cause of the problems, a process of eliminations.

Since the battery has been completely drained many times I believe it should be replaced with a new battery due to severe sulfating and will probably not be able to hold a charge.
We bought this particular car to tow a trailer. We bought a new travel trailer from *** in Clarington, ON and planned to pick up the new trailer on January 3, 2019 at *** to proceed to Florida and Arizona on a three month adventure.
All those plans are now on hold and we may have to cancel travel insurance, campground reservations etc.
