We have carefully looked into this complaint filed by the complainant concerning h ?r
outstanding bill with the Sublette County Rural Health Care District and the eventual turning t the
outside collection agencyAfter interviewing our billing department manager as well as the employee who handles collections, the following information has been gathered:
1) 1/28/2012 The complainant signed our financial policy stating that she unders:arids that
payment is expected in full at the time of service but payment arrangements may te madeIf
payments are not made on a regular basis, the patient may be turned over to an outside
collection agency
2) 12/09/203 Date of Service at our facilityNo payment was made on the date of service
3) 3/10/2014 Complainant's insurance responded to our billing stating that this k ill s 100%
patient responsibility as the deductible had not be met
4) 3/10/2014 Statement was sent to the guarantor
5) 4/7/2014 2nd Statement was sent to the guarantor
6) 5/5/2014 3rd Statement was sent to the guarantor
7) 5/21/2014 Courtesy call to the guarantor to discuss past due balanceLeft a message
8) 5/28/2014 Mailed final demand notice with a $minimum monthly paym ?rr: to the
guarantor
9) 5/29/2014 Complainant called to check on her balanceShe indicated that shewould put a
check in the mail today for $and pay it off in the next couple of months
10) 5/30/2014 $check received
11) 6/2/2014 4th Statement was sent to the guarantor
12) 6/30/2014 5th Statement was sent to the guarantor.13) 7/14/ Sent guarantor's account to the outside collection agency as no ref ular
payments are being made.14) 7/16/ Received a phone call from complainant stating that she had made m 3nthly
payments as requestedAttempted to discuss the history of the account but was unsoccessfulNotes indicate that complainant was very upset
15) 7/28/ Received a phone call from complainant stating that she was willing to discuss
the history of the account and agreed that the financial and account history was acmi.ate
As you can see, we have followed our payment policies and given the complainant amr le
opportunities to make a monthly payment on her outstanding balance to stay out of the outside collection process
