Subscription Services Reviews (16)

Trying to get in contact with Subscription Services 1-516-676-4300, no answer, no message. Sent a check for NY Magazine renewal on 5/23/18 and it was cashed on 6/5/18. NY Magazine has no record of renewal. Would like a refund. Will order with a more reliable service. Thank you,

Zero stars for the review would have been my preference. Recv'd mail proclaiming "this is not a bill" for a magazine that had recently expired. It was highly deceptive and no phone number provided. A well-devised scheme to get my subscription at a premium to dealing directly with the magazine via their website. Buyer beware.

Review: I ordered two magazines for my son, [redacted] The order was mailed on 2-13-14. I have sent two letters to subscription services dated 5-14-14 and 6-16-14. Justin has received one acoustic guitar magazine and no US Weekly Magazine to date. I mailed a $66.25 money order with the order on 2-13-14. This is very frustrating, and I would appreciate your help. This also happened last year. I would like a phone number to subscription services, but I definitely need him to receive his magazines for his full subscription year.Desired Settlement: I want him to receive his two magazines, US Weekly/weekly and Acoustic Guitar/monthly for the full subscription year. Otherwise, I would like my $66.25 returned.

Review: I paid Subscription Services $16.40 for a magazine subscription in Oct. 2013 and have not received my magazine.

They will not respond to my E-mails and their phone number is no longer active.Desired Settlement: Refund my money.

Review: In 1-28-14 a check was sent to subscription service to order a one year subscription to channel guide 2-18-14 received a confirmation letter stating that on 2-13-14 my order was submitted to Channel Guide. Subscription service ask that you allow 120 days to receive the first issue due to the way the publication print. After the 120 days I wrote to subscription service in regards to my subscription. After no response, I wrote to channel guide to see if they had record of my order. They clam there is none an and sent me a print out of your review of the company (subscription service) they told me my best bet would be to file this form with you. Desired Settlement: To see to it that I receive my 1 yr subscription for channel guide or my money returned to me in full.

Review: Ordered three magazines on 9/6/11 for a total of $40.20 and never received any of the subscriptions. I tried contacting them several times in writing in Feb. 2012 and on 3/28/12 and there was never any response. With their rating on your system, its a surprise that no one has turned them over to the CA Atty for prosecution for obtaining money under false pretenses.Desired Settlement: A refund in full and hope that they are shut down from defrauding people out of their money.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. The lady who called was very helpful and apologetic for falling thru the cracks. I was pleased with the outcome and will do business with them in the future.

This is a follow up to my original Revdex.com complaint. I originally placed my order 9/6/11 for which I never received anything for my $39.40 order. I wrote to the company several times throughout 2012 and never received a response. Supposedly they were never received, despite none of the letters sent to a PO Box being returned. I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com in early 2013 and only then I received a response from Subscription Service via telephone. Surprisingly, Ms. [redacted] (or whoever I spoke to) was very accommodating and friendly, and we agreed to placing a new order for three years of Mens Health magazine. A few weeks later, I received an order confirmation that was for the magazines from my original order in 2011, not what we agreed upon during our phone call. There was a typed note at the bottom of my order confirmation stating (something to the effect of) "Thanks for your order and have a nice life" which "have a nice life" sounds entirely sarcastic, especially if you want repeat business. I immediately emailed to tell them that they order was not correct, and never received a response. I mailed the order confirmation back noting the problem, and no response. I tried calling and there was no answer and no voice mail. I don't understand why this company cannot do the right thing and be a lot more responsive to their customers.

$39.40 refund. I do not wish to have to continue going on and on and on with this situation. It's more hassle than the $39.40 is worth, but it's the principal of the matter and Im not going to walk away from it when I'm right and deserve what I paid for.

Review: I wrote you on 5-1-14 (I have not received a reply)- I filed a complaint about subscription service wich had changed its name to imagination Magazines and their address to : [redacted]2)- Well I had my Mother look that address up on the internet, and it's a house that's for sale not a business (see enclosed pics).

In my first letter to you I sent you a copy of my paid order, and a copy of the withdrawal slip from my account for $59.70 dated 1-13-14- I still have not received any of my magazines and now I just want my money back!!! All $59.70 put back on my inmate account!!! The check was made out to subscription service- and mailed- to Subscription Service- [redacted]79. So I say regardless of management or name change that's who its responsible for refunding my money!!!

J[redacted]Desired Settlement: All $59.70 put back on my inmate account!!!

Review: I am writing on behalf of my brother who is in prison and I have power of attorney. His prison address is [redacted], NH [redacted]Desired Settlement: Please return the money or deliver the product in a timely manner.

Review: I am a family member that ordered magazines for a prison inmate, from an advertisement provided to him at the prison. I ordered Men's Health- 2yr subscription, [redacted] Report- 1 yr. subscription and Men's Journal for 1 yr. I received acknowledgement from Subscription Services that they received the order. Order date 10/02/13, Cr [redacted], Order Number [redacted]. They acknowledged the order for the Men's Health, and the [redacted] Report for a total of $40.15, and said that I have been credited $9.15 due to the fact that Mens Journal will not deliver to prisons. I never received the credited amt., nor did my nephew ever get the magazines. I think after 8 months, he should have started receiving them by now. I have tried calling the phone number listed of [redacted], but it never answers.Desired Settlement: I would like the credit refunded to me, and I would like the magazines to be delivered as promised. Thank you. [redacted]

Review: RE: Unfilled order

I respectfully address this and hope it finds you, your staff and loved ones all in the best of health.

My reason for writing is I'm having a problem with a company and I hope you can help- the us I paid for several subscriptions but the subscription service company never processed the order, I know this because I wrote the magazine who replied they had no record of any subscriptions the issue starts on :

*8/07/13- 5 magazine subscriptions ordered- give 12-14 weeks for sub to start.

*11-20-13: I was transferred to a new prison I wrote both the subscription service & magazine to advise of new address

*On or about Jan 14 I was informed by the magazine they never received any

On or about Jan I wrote the subscription service and sent the letters from the magazine and let them know of the problem no reply received.

On 4-29-14 I wrote the Subscription Service again no reply or any magazines have been received as of this date

Note:Prison Policy is any mail or magazines received at any old address will be forwarded to this address-none of the subscriptions have been received

I thank you for your time any assistance in receiving the magazines or a refund will be appreciated.

I thank you for your time and look forward to any reply

respectfully

Review: I have been a customer of this business for over 15 years and never had any trouble until now. My order #[redacted], 12/11/12, Check #133.95 dated 11/18/12, cashed 11/28/12 was a 3-year gift subscription to US Weekly Magazine for my daughter, [redacted]. The company sent my daughter a receipt, which is in the form of a $5.95 credit slip, as I overpaid the subscription by that amount. My emails to the company dated 2/5/13, 2/15/13, 4/10/13, and 4/27/13 have not been answered, nor has anyone answered the daily phone calls that I make. However, a phone call to me on 2/20/13 from a gentleman at Subscription Services (I believe he said his name was [redacted]) apologized for our inconvenience, said there were problems with an older family member who previously owned the business, they are trying to straighten out the records, and he said the order would be resubmitted to the magazine company and my daughter should have her magazine within 30 days. It is now 5/15/13 and still no magazine. Customer Service personnel at US Weekly Magazine have been great in checking all records without success for a subscription placed in my daughter's name, but they cannot honor a subscription until they receive the order and payment from Subscription Services.Desired Settlement: I would like the 3 year subscription of US Weekly Magazine sent to my daughter as ordered, or if this is not possible, I would like a refund in the amount of my check, $133.95.

Called our agency we work with, and she should rec mag in 6-8 weeks 6/10/13 -tried to call Ms. [redacted] , but left message.

Consumer

Response:

Thank you, thank you, thank you very much for assisting me. Without your help, I know my daughter's subscription to US magazine would not have been activated. [redacted], whom I dealt since ordering subscriptions from Subscription Services, called and left a message that the subscription would start in 4 to 6 weeks. I went one step further and called US magazine, and YES, they do have a 3-year subscription in their system to start on 7/8/13.

Review: Dear Revdex.com,

I ordered from this company (Subscription Service) [redacted] and never received anything.

Order date 2-5-14.

1) Their ad says send SASE and ask for their magazine lists.

Send them a SASE ask for a list see if you get it. Make an order see if you get it.

I sent them $43.50. I want my money back. Our prison has receipt to this place. So its no lie.

I am sending this receipt they sent me. The mark out stuff is a no prison magazine delivery. That they want to respond to me now. Please get my money back for me.

Sincerely,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: Refund
