Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2014/02/19) */

In response to this complaint, patient does have outstanding bills. He complains of an appointment and when he got here...

Dr. was not here, the Dr. saw 30 patients that day. We have
valid proof of all of the days of service that he has not paid his copays. We offered to them to show us cancelled checks or credit card statements and would certainly make sure we had those payments. The patient never produced the
proof of payment. It is not that our system mixed up his payments, we moved to a new system but that did not mean we turned off our old system, but we carried the balances over to the
new system so the statement could state "balance forward from old system." We also sent the patient printed proof taken from our old system and statements from the new system. They were mailed to the patient and we have copies of the same. On October 1st he stated he drove here
and the Dr. was not in, but that is the day the Dr. saw 30 patients in the office. We also have that in our system, the electronic system is not
able to be manipulated.
It stands that the patient owes $150.00.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2014/02/27) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This has to do with YOU not letting us know we had a outstanding balance. Every time we went up to the counter nobody said anything. No letters were ever sent to us in a legitimate attempt to collect any amount of balance. When we asked to see this you sent us a printout from your computer. This shows NOTHING that you attempted to collect from us or sent us anything. One day we check our credit report and found your debt collectors info and traced it to you. How can you place something on somebody's credit without even letting them know they owe you. This is over 150 dollars that I make in a hr, that's not the point. After [redacted] a partner/doctor, barely speaking audible English screamed at me and said he doesn't give [redacted] if we aren't happy, he could care less about us and that the insurance company will just send him new clients. That he is the only Endocrinologist in Chicago and he has a monopoly. This is all over him saying come in 4-5 times a year and us saying no that's a scam and we are not coming in 5 times a year. Scam just for money.
We have filled several reports with the insurance company in a effort to stop others from being abused and taken advantage of just more money. Everything that happens in your office is about how to suck ever dollar out of the patients that you care so much about.
They also have several other doctors that advertise different locations that are 100% false. They infact work with Soruco. We tried to make appt not knowing they are all connected in the scam ring and they let us know they dont accept anybody that owes another doctor money.

Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2014/03/24) */
In response to Mr. [redacted]'s complaint, regarding being sent to collections with no warning. Mr. [redacted] received 10 statements on the one balance
and 8 statements on the other balance. That is a huge clue that you owe money to this business sending you statements. Would you ignore 8 credit card statements without responding? After the fourth statement, is in red, and tells the recipient that this is the final statement before going to collection. The address we sent to is [redacted] Streamwood, IL XXXXX. The mail never returned; someone got his statements.
He was notified by phone and mail of the balance
owed by the collection agency, which would have given him a chance to pay the balance. When no
payment was made, the collection agency turns it over to an attorney who advises him via certified letter that the debt is going on his credit report.
In a previous letter that Mr. [redacted] wrote,
he stated his diagnosis. According to the standard of care for his disease, patients must be seen and monitored every 3 months, in order to receive their prescriptions.
I could give you other information, but by law,
HIPPA, I am not allowed to divulge certain information regarding the patient's health or his Dr./Patient relationship.
He acually is committing insurance fraud in his request to write off these balances. The amounts
owing are his responsibility by terms of his insurance contract.
I would advise that the patient cease and desist
defaming the Dr. that he sees and the rest of the
rest of the practice. Because the patient was not responsible enough to pay his copays, he has
stooped to slandering the
practice.
