Response:

Customer had contacted our Placerville office, which is the office they get their propane from, they were informed that it was our error and it would be removed.

Thank You,

Review: I have had an account with Suburban Propane at my vacation home at Heritage Ranch for approximately ten years. I rent my tank from them and have complained on more than one occasion that the meter is broken. When I called to order propane last month, I inquired about the price and was quoted $2.34 per gallon. I again complained about the gauge being stuck. I pointed out that previously after complaining about the stuck dial, a delivery person had broken the glass to try to rectify the problem. The company was aware the the gauge read 60% when I ordered the propane and at no point did anyone inform me that there is a 100 gallon minimum (our tank holds 250 gallons). When I received my bill, I was shocked to see that I was charged $590.52 for 66.3 gallons! the total bill was $567.56 because of a $22.96 credit due to a class action suit that I believe was brought about for previous over billing practices. After inquiring about the outrageous amount, the situation was looked into and I was told I would receive a call back the next day. two days later I called back and was told there is a 100 gallon minimum and that the "maximum bill" applied. I am retired and on a fixed income. I offered to pay for 100 gallons ($234.00) and was told that I can not be billed for materials that have not been delivered. It was suggested to me that in the future I run my heater and other gas appliances more often in order to use up more propane. I do not believe in wasting natural resources. After contacting the company, they were unwilling to make a compromise. I feel that a nearly $600.00 bill for $155.00 worth of propane is excessive and that my offer to pay $234.00 was more than reasonable.Desired Settlement: Adjust the bill from 590.52 to $155.13 and include the credit of 22.96 for a total of $132.17
