The cashier at the counter refused to give my 15 year son his change due. He purchased a 12 inch sub and a bottle of soda, the total came to $8.37, my son gave him $9.00 cash (9 one dollar bills). The cashier told him there is a change shortage and they are not giving out change. They over charged my 15 year old son for no reason.
In regards to the complaint filed with your bureau, the customer may stop and pick up his change at his convenience. I was on vacation and the fill in team leads were not in the building at that time of day, having already worked the morning shift. The employee who was responsible for this action was mistaken by some news article and thought that change was to be held due to a change shortage according to the article. That employee has since been given a minor violation for their actions and all reference to not giving change has been corrected. We truly apologize for this mistake on behalf of the employee.
