Suez Water increases rates by 20% about every 2 years. Suez Water NJ now is increasing rates by that amount 3x between 2018-2020. We’ll be paying $ hundreds per month for water & sewer because of their bad debt.

Review: To whom it may concern, I have been with united water Co. for more than 15 years Unfortunately, the service at my surprise, has not performed well and was inadequate. I am disappointed because back in January they came to my house to do a meter reading and for some reason they could not do it so the bill I got was only an estimated reading compare to the one last year (last January) which doesn't match either. Because it is higher the service was not performed correctly. After I paid and received the next trimester bill it was $426. I contacted the United Water because I thought I was billed the wrong amount, they're answer was that maybe I had a leak I checked the meter in my basement and everything seemed normal. I stated that I would not pay a bill that high when for more that 20 years NEVER had a bill that high so they agree to send a technician to check the problem. When he arrived Wed June 19 he went all over the house checked the meter, had no leaks and stated that it was impossible for our bill to be that high and he also said the last meter reading was an estimate and that the only way to go from 37 (last year meter reading) to 110 was only if there was a major pipe broken causing severe water loss. I stated that I wasn't going to pay such an outrageous bill and he replied "I wouldn't either, after the report it should be back to normal". On June 27 the water was shut off and when my wife called she was degraded by [redacted] a costumer service agent who stated that we used that water and that we neglected our bill and that there was no manager available to speak with my wife told her we were supposed to receive a final notice suspension that we never did and she said well its the same address you should of get it. She also said we had to pay the whole amount because we close at 3Pm. My wife got in touch with the legal department and they finally got her to speak with [redacted] (supervisor) who also stated that we used that amount of water and we need to pay this amount and that if we believe we have a water problem we should contact a specialist (which we did before their technician came to our house and agreed that there was no leak. To resolve the problem, I would appreciate my money refunded minus the amount that we obviously pay every trimester for the right meter reading plus no $300 hundred deposit (that they will keep if I am late) or refund after a year, I have been with this company for 20+ years and I just cant believe they're not even giving us the respect for our loyalty business but I guess this is what happen when you only have one option for your water resource it becomes a monopoly and they can treat people however they're please. I am writing in response to the complaint for[redacted]. United Water has followed the proper protocol in regards to the customers complaint. When there is higher than normal usage, we ask if there is a leak, we send a serviceman to the residence to see if they can see if something is going on. The customer is also advised to have a plumber check to see if there are any leaks as well. After all of this is done, we can pull the meter and have it tested. Since the customer did not make any payments they were turned off.

United Water is monitored by the State of New York, we cannot just issue a credit because their usage is higher than normal. The water meters do not run fast but typically they can run slow. If a meter is tested and it fails under for accuracy, that is in the customers favor.

If the customer would like for us to pull the meter for testing, they need to call and set up an appointment to do so. If the meter results are accurate and the customer is still stating that there is no leak or any other reason that they used more water than normal, there are no grounds for United Water to issue a credit.

Review: the story is, that on that location used to be an old vacant house so there was no name on the water meter for abiut 12 months, now a new house came up there when I gave in the aplication for new water servce right away they took the old amount under my name.

I HAVE CONTACTED THEM SEVERAL TIMES I WENT DOWN TO THE OFFICE WITH ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS (LEASE UTILITY ACTIVATION etc.) & NOW I HAD AN AGENT COMING TO MY DOOR WITH A SHUT OFF NOTICE I CALLED INTO THE OFFICE TO SPEAK WITH A SUPERVISER & THEY SAID THERE IS NO SUPERVISER TILL MONDAY TO TALK. this is unexeptableDesired Settlement: they should block the sutoff notice & resolve that issue off my name

The business has responded. Please see below:[redacted] has recently submitted the proper paperwork. His bills were corrected on 2/**/2015 for his water. The balance for the water is $633.10 and the dates are from 7/*/2014 thru 2/**/2015. The balance is correct and due. There is also a fire line at the property that is billed separately on account #[redacted]. The balance on this account $14.71. Payments have been made to this account. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

yes we discussed the issue they brought down the amount due, but while we were on the phone with them I asked them so I see there are 3 separate bills on that property so the answer was, "OH you are right I see it but I do not have now any supervisor to discuss whats going on here I will get back to you" since then I did not hear from them.
