My wife and I went to Suffield Motors to purchase a truckWhen we entered a man by the name of Dan M [redacted] , owner approached usWe saw two trucks that we liked and test drive them bothDan mentioned that the truck we actually ended up purchasing was the better of the two ( should have stopped there) anyway we did decide on that truckHowever, after the test drive we mentioned some things that we noticed with the truck that needed fixed (the back light had a small crack, there was something else I and the big one was the check engine light was on, I know should have stopped there but MrM [redacted] mentioned that the check engine light was a minor issues) Mr M [redacted] wrote all repairs down and said he would fix all the repairs ( obviously I'm not buying a truck with major issues and obviously one that has a check engine light issue unless it is minor and it can be fixed, so trusted Mr.M [redacted] that he would make things right ( big mistake.) So, I went to pick the truck when MrM [redacted] called me to tell me it was readySo, we went to pick the truck up and drove it homeOn our way home the check engine light came on againI immediately texted MrM [redacted] about the problem and he mentioned that his mechanic must not have reset it properly ( yeah right) but ok ( I know I'm to trusting) anyway we took the truck back to him in to have it fixed, again another trip to his car lot in SuffieldSo again MrM [redacted] contacted me when the truck was doneWe picked it up and the check engine light came on againI texted MrM [redacted] and no response back (you know where this going.) Finally MrM [redacted] texted me back once I informed him the truck started leaking fluid and the check engine light still on of courseBy this time the truck had to be taken into the shop to be looked at ( Mind you I only had the truck for a total of roughly four weeks with Mr M [redacted] having it for roughly a week out if the four.) Come to find out that the check engine light issue was a transmission related problem and not a Osensor that MrM [redacted] mentioned it wasSo, now I mentioned this to MrM [redacted] that because he originally was to fix the problem that he should pay for the repair ( I'm not going to buy a truck with transmission problems obviously, again to trusting, I knowIf he were honest with me in the first place we would not have bought the truck Anyway I even texted MrM [redacted] and said " you sold me a lemon" and he replied "no comment" you have a warranty ( remember folks this does not happen to you, anything but no is a yes) anyway after a series of texts finally Mr.M [redacted] said and I quote " I'm not paying, take me to courtPlease do not do business with this manhe comes off nice and trusting but will stick you every chance he canNot very professional or caring about the people he sells his junk toNo sympathy and not sure how he can sleep at night knowing he screws people, lies and cheats peopleMrM [redacted] you be ashamed of yourselfNow I'm out more moneyAlso, I contacted some people I know who are in the car business both friends and non friends to be fair to MrM [redacted] and they said the same thing that he should have taken care of everything and that guys like him give the car business a bad namePlease do not buy from this guy or businessHope this will help others not to be so trusting ( my Christian faith) and to not deal with this guy

I am rejecting this response because:I do not agree with Suffield Motors response and sent my follow up this eveningPlease email me back and let me know you receivedThanks for all your help, John

This complaint is entirely riddled with lies and false statements by the customer. I have all documents proving each of my statements, I have text messages from the customer proving the facts that will be presented. I have text messages threatening me to pay or I will suffer consequences, I also...

have documentation from third party repair facility proving that my facts are correct. 1. The customer stated that he purchased the vehicle on July 18th 2016 the ACTUAL date of purchase and delivery was JUNE 9th 20162. The customer stated that they paid $5800 for the vehicle when is was much less $52503. Dealer had a Federal Buyers Guide Signed by customer stating vehicle was "As-IS" No Warranty4. Dealer has secondary form designed by [redacted] (Dealer Software Company) Stating AS-IS without Warranty that exist or pre-existed5. Dealer has "Terms and Conditions" (rear of purchase agreement) Initialed at 2 locations by customer stating that customer understands that they are responsible for all repairs and in bold print that the Purchaser is not entitled from the seller any consequential damages because this is an AS-IS Sale.6. This original issue was verbal communication. The initial check engine light issue was reported JUNE 9th 2016, within 5 minutes of driving off the lot, the engine light was never cleared by mistake and I offered the customer to turn around and I would clear it, the customer stated the had to get back to their town because they had other commitments they needed to handle. Customer stated they would come back the next day to have light shut off. The customer did not show the next day and dropped the vehicle off 3 days later on a Sunday when the dealership is closed. I received notification at that point that the truck had an oil leak. I personally cleared the code for the check engine light on Monday June 13th 2016 and crawled under the truck to look for an oil leak. Not noticing anything leaking that would cause a spot on the ground I checked the oil filter it was tight but I noticed a newer oil pan gasket was installed so I checked the bolts and did find the oil pan bolts were loose. I notified the customer and was going to meet after work to return truck. I actually took truck to my home and parked on my concrete driveway. There was a plan change that the customer had and couldn't meet so the truck was at my house overnight, the driveway had no oil spots again. I informed the customer it of this, and then they picked up truck.7. The customer states that he contacted me on July 18th and it was only 4 weeks of owning the vehicle, it was actually July 26th, 2016 via text message before 8 am, with a picture of an oil spot on the ground followed by a message stating that the OIL leak is worse than I thought and we need to figure out how to fix it. First off, it is very disrespectful to contact someone that early in the morning with a text message, especially when my "Open Hours" are at 10 am. I did not reply to this text message at all.8. The next notification was July 27th because I had not responded. Now funny both text messages have no mention of the check engine light being on at this point just customers complaint of an OIL leak. I responded and told customer maybe he could run truck out to car lot tomorrow, I was going to show him how to tighten the oil pan bolts, he responded that he would Drop off Sunday, here I learned of the check engine light being back on now having the vehicle 2 months, he told me that the oil leak is causing an electrical problem, and told me his quotes "You Sell Me A Lemon" I responded with 'No Comment, you have a warranty. See the customer Elected to purchase a third party Extended Service Contract on the vehicle. The tensions were very high, I even told customer that looking at the vehicle by me was not me fixing it, we needed to take a sigh and talk later when tensions cooled down. The customer totally attacked my integrity at this point and my Faith. The customer gave me his spouses phone number and told me that moving forward I would deal with her. This is the same person who asked to get a better deal on the truck because I was a Good Christian man and we were brothers in faith. Never had another Christian  attack me as an individual and a business like this customer had done.9. Customer not spouse then notified me via text that the Transmission was leaking on July 30th, he was going to take it to someone.10 Received text Aug 2nd, 2016 that customer to it to dealer and the check engine light was a direct result from a transmission leak not an oil leak and not an oxygen sensor. And what were my thoughts on the $350 diagnostics charges. I requested a copy to be faxed to me. At this point the original check engine light which the customer had seen on my personal scan tool June 6 2016 prior to buying which was not anything to do with a transmission. The complaint was not of an oil leak but a transmission leak. I requested the dealers findings be sent to me on many occasions so that my partner and I could learn what was going on at the dealers, after many request, finally on August 11th, 2016 I received the documentation. Interesting during the purchase the customer stated that the wife would be pulling a trailer loaded with lawn equipment that was rather heavy and wanted a good transmission. Not until 2 months later had I ever heard anything of a transmission issue. Deception of the underlying problem? It states that the TOTAL repair quote is $1374.79 and after Extended Service Contract customer was responsible for $320 plus cooler lines, tax and labor difference, these items are all included in the $1374.79, this is a far cry from $3000 the customer states. Again this is directly from the Ford dealers repair estimate. This did not include the diagnostic charge the customer stated was $350 and the was also confirmed on a separate Ford Dealer work order.10. The vehicle was sold with 140,900 miles and per Ford dealers paperwork the truck 144,852 miles as of August 1st, 2016. The customer had driven the truck 3,952 miles in 2 months. 11. The customer then requested that I pay for the total repair bill and pay the balance that was owed on the vehicle, or refund him all money he paid for the truck and pay the Ford dealer. At this point I no longer wanted to have communications with the customer due to the outrageous request on a matter that I was not responsible for in any way. Here is the point the customer started threatening me with "I also have people I know at the local paper", I customer was giving me ONE day to reconsider changing my mind. 12. This is very important, I never said "Sue me" stated by the customer, I stated "All future references can go to Attorney [redacted] out of Akron Ohio please do not contact my phone further" this is when more newspaper threats came and the customer found online 1 complaint against me in 9 years in business and forwarded a copy to my cell via text, then I received a review by customer completely lying about what I said and he quoted me in the review , Said terrible lies about me personally and finally he states that he has friends in the car business and they would have taken care of everything. I guess I know the answer to my questions but, Why didn't he buy a vehicle from his friends in the business? Why would you purchase from a stranger? Also in the review nearly 3 months after his purchase he states he had the truck roughly 4 weeks, he stated I screw people and I should be ashamed of myself. 13. Bottom line the sale was executed legally and morally correct. The FEDERAL BUYERS GUIDE marked AS IS NO Warranty was signed by the customer, the dealership Suffield Motors and myself have no obligation for any repairs or refunds. The dealership has retained all papers and messages for any legal proceedings that may arise from the blatant lie of events.14. In the Revdex.com complaint customer states that he paid $3000 for repairs and the truck is still leaking, why isn't the Ford dealer that made the repairs (if done) taking care of the leak? Call me a crook? Liar and untruthful and I need to be shutdown. I am astonished at this Christians morals in attacking a person, the bible says nothing about cutting down anyone the way I have been made out to be by this customer. I have nearly 42 percent of my annual sales who are prior customers and referrals. This speaks for itself, 26 years I have been selling cars and never had customers calling , texting me at 6 am in the morning or threaten me to try to get money from me. Because I am a good person who can forgive EVERYONE for mistakes, I am not proceeding with an attorney to recover damages caused by J. R[redacted]. I believe that I have more than enough information and documentation to recover substantial monetary damages.

There isn't much more to say at this point, the customers response is that they don't agree, if there is another letter from the customer responding with a viable complaint, I did not receive it. I am standing firm and on my ethical, moral and proven track record.
