Suffolk Plumbing & Heating Reviews (1)

Review: I am 76 years old, retired and living on Social Security.

We have been doing business with Suffolk Plumbing for several years and have never had a problem with them.

On February **,2014 I called them because our toilet was backed up. A representative of their company came and augured the toilet. (This company does no provide a bill on the date of service-They bill you.) On February **,2014 two days latter the toilet was blocked again. Called them and a representative came and re-augured the toilet.

several days later we received a bill in the amount of $168.37 for their first visit and a bill for $92.33.

I called Suffolk plumbing and requested a breakdown of the charges. I was told that they now charge $165.00 for a service call.(They never made me aware of this)

and that they wanted $92.33 for coming back the second time.

I advised that the repairs were not completed correctly in the first place.

I spoke to the [redacted] who insisted on getting paid the full amount. I told him the job was not completed correctly as we were still having problems with the toilet backing up.

[redacted] got upset with me after I advised him that I was going to the Revdex.com, He told me to forget about the bill.

I received a bill on April *,2014 in the amount $267.93, I called the office an spoke to a [redacted] who advise me that she was not not aware of what [redacted] told me.

She called me back on the same day and told me that [redacted] said that he told me to pay the first bill(168.37)only. This was not trueDesired Settlement: The cost of $168.37 For a service call should have been explained and I would never have used their service.

Charging an extra $92.33 after one day to do the same job that was not done correctly to begin does not make sense. ( their must be some type of guarantee on their workmanship.)

as the [redacted] suggested I Would like them to forget the charges as I still have the problem.

Response:

We were called on 02-**-14, for an emergency service call at [redacted]'s home, for an unusable toilet. Upon arrival, the toilet was found to be full of feces. The service representative from Suffolk Plumbing augured the toilet and cleared the stoppage. On 02-**-14, we were again called for an unusable toilet, and found the same situation as two days earlier; a toilet full of feces. Again the toilet was augured and the stoppage was cleared. We had no complaints or communication from [redacted] until we billed him. The second service call was discounted , as a courtesy. [redacted] said we billed him at $165 service call, which is incorrect. He was billed $155 plus NYS sales tax, which is our normal service charge. He only called the Revdex.com, after he recieved our "final demand for payment", at which time he had already had our bill for one month. When he advised me of contacting Revdex.com, I told him that was his option, but he still ha d an outstanding balance, at which time he abruptly hung up on me.

Regardless of this outcome, we will be starting legal action against him in small claims court for payment.

Sincerely,

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

There was never a contract signed or one received indicating the amount charged until several days after the service was performed.(Is this legal????)

The service representative advised that we would be billed(I never was advised of the $155.00 service charge.) I would never have called them back.

On the second return to my home there were no feces in the bowl only clear water.

After receiving the bill, I called [redacted] for an explanation and was advised that I had to speak to [redacted] who was to call me back.

Two weeks later I called [redacted] again and was advised that they had a wrong phone number for me, I gave her my right number and was called by [redacted]. [redacted] told me that I did not understand the plumbing business and that the charges were correct. I tried to work out a resolution with them But [redacted] hung up on me.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
