Review: The merchant failed to provide a full credit from multiple charges for a cruise that was suppose to take place in October, which did not take place due to the merchant not paying the cruise company. The merchant sent a letter out stating a full refund would be issued by December 31, 2013, however I have not received such payment as of yet. I have documents from the merchant stating I am owed a full refund and the date I should have received it.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of my deposit.

Review: A payment in full of $2400 was sent to Sugar & Spice Travel Agency on 11 July 2013 for a cruise with [redacted] Cruise Line from 19 - 27 October 2013. Prior to payment being sent to [redacted] from the representative to pay for the cabin, which I thought was paid for already, [redacted] issued a statement that a lawsuit was being filed against her company from a previous guest and that her accounts were frozen as they were co-mingled. I personally contacted [redacted] to see what was going on and she stated that all parties would be refunded on/about 15 October 2013. Well a statement was issued, 20 August 2013, from her stating the following:August 20, 2013 Dear [redacted] Due to an unforeseen pending lawsuit our organization faces we regretfully inform you that the October Cruise has been canceled and we are working frantically to return your refund. The amount of your refund is $2,400. Refund is guaranteed to be returned betweenOctober 15 December 31, 2013. Our organization is regretfully and terribly sorry for this situation and all refunds will be rectified.Forward your mailing address. All refunds will be in certified checks. Sincerely, Sugar & Spice Travel Agency[redacted]###-###-####What I don't understand is why wasn't the cabin booked when paid in full 11 July 2013 and why is it that the account frozen is her personal account? Shouldn't my funds if not submitted to the cruise line be in a business account?Desired Settlement: Monies be refunded in the amount of $2400 immediately!

Dear Revdex.com,

Yes our office experience an unforeseen situation where we had to cancel the up coming Cruise, in which [redacted] was notified two months in advance before the Cruise in October, with a Cruise Cancel letter and also a Cruise Refund letter on specific dates of refund, I spoke with [redacted] professionally on the phone and he understood the situation and wished me good luck and prayers for the situation and we were agreeable of refund dates. The account that was frozen was a Business Account under the name Sugar & Spice Travel. I've operated a successful travel business for six years and funds have never been in a personal account. The cruise line only accepts Business Accounts.

The initial transaction for [redacted] credit card was declined and I was authorized to run his card through again July 26 by Ronnie. July 26 is the accurate date of purchase. I had to go out of the country, July 27, with another travel group and upon return learned of the dismay of the account.

I professionally contacted [redacted] immediately and followed up with a letter of Cancel and professionally made refund arrangement, in which he agreed, I spoke with him on the phone twice and he understood the situation and I apologize. I guess he wanted to take it a step further for slander. The situation will be rectified.

Best regards,

Review: Around November 2012 I signed up for a trip to Amsterdam with Sugar & Spice Travel. Total cost of the hotel stay was priced and advertised as $1,100 for two. I paid $1,100 in advance of the travel date of August 1, 2013. After checking out from the hotel, I was charged $1,225.51 for my stay. I then contacted [redacted] from Sugar & Spice to resolve the issue. **. [redacted] admitted that she had incorrectly priced this trip by ignoring the impact of foreign exchange fees and their fluctuation. She then agreed to refund the entire $1,225.51, since it was her mistake. On August 20, she e-mails me indicating that Sugar & Spice will only refund $1,100, after we had agreed otherwise. Furthermore, my card was charged on August 5, and she indicated I could expect to receive my refund of the incorrect amount between November and December 2013, three months later. For this reason, I am requesting below that the refund amount includes an amount equal to reasonable interest charges I have and continue to pay on this charge, which remains outstanding. Given the poor handling of this situation, I expect to never have to do business with Sugar & Spice Travel ever again.Desired Settlement: I request a refund of $1,225.51, plus an amount equal to reasonable interest charges I have and continue to pay on this charge, due to Sugar & Spice's refusal and inability to process my refund timely.
