Sulitz Construction Reviews (%countItem)

I hired sulitz construction to redo dry rot boards on my exterior deck, as well as the posts, the inside flooring of my personal house, and repainting the walls. I was looking for someone who could be trusted, and as a mother myself, I thought a family run business was the best bet. I was surprised by the work they did and how fast it was done. It really amazed me considering how some contractors can be. Definitely recommend!!

Thank you for the review! Greatly appreciate it! Here at Sulitz Construction quality and satisfaction is our speciality!

Sulitz Construction was paid to professionally paint our home siding, facia, and gutters. Pictures were taken of the job that was done.
Shutters have brown and white paint on them with red missing
Shutters have screws not flush or painted
Garage door was clearly not evenly sprayed or sprayed at all in areas with run marks, paint missing
Glass on garage door has paint
Brick and concrete under door have been painted
Garage door opener painted
Weather strips around door painted and shouldn’t be, not even completely
Flood light above garage door painted partially, shouldn’t be at all
Brown and white paint on brick all the way around the house
White paint overspray onto roof shingles (wasn’t big deal, but with everything else) Bedroom windows have paint sprayed across them
Pillars were not sanded and chipping, not completely painted had bubbles
Brand new AC Unit was over sprayed
Overspray hit tree about 15 feet away with a few specks hitting truck on other side of tree (not big deal came off, but still the point)
Came unprepared in need of a pressure wash, used ours and got paint all over our extension cord and hose that we lent them
Used our ladder got paint on it
Used our wrenches to put together a brand-new paint sprayer got paint on it
Used our tarp during pressure washing and then paint getting paint on it
Camera lenses all around the house have been sprayed over
Black railing on back porch has overspray all over it away from the house
White railing on front porch has overspray in corner heavy
Window Trims were not covered and irregular paints over sprayed on them
Borrowed tape from us because painters’ tape was brought for a job with brick
Touch ups were noticeably sloppy on facia with streaks and bare spots
The ladder they brought had no cushion on end and scratched paint as they touched up and puts marks in siding almost denting
Siding where brown is has white specks throughout surface with underneath and corners not being painted in many instances
Paneling under siding wasn’t hit in most cases
I spent
brown paint in corners, underside of each piece going across, and paneling under the siding along with fixing irregular paint spots and build ups.
hours from the front door to the right of the house on Wednesday June 10, 2020 fixing
Tina pointed out these spots and Dave said this was our siding and he attempted to sand same with pillars. I used a wire brush and fixed it in five minutes on pillars and paint when on smooth so sanding was not done. A scraper was used to take heavy paint off pillars and siding along
with mess ups that was supposedly the siding. The siding in all these spots was flat and smooth underneath meaning the paint job was messed up.
We were told dozens of times brick would be covered to make sure paint did not get on them and paint all the way around the house did in fact get on brick and other parts of the house
Tools and basic equipment required of a professional to do this job were not brought and had to be supplied by us.
A DJ cord used for weddings now needs replaced from paint. Our hose has paint all around it. Tools, tarps, and other things borrowed have paint on them.
Waters, snacks, bathroom, and other hospitality was offered along with patience. Text messages show how often was asked for tools that should have been brought.
Pictures of all the listed above are available.

Twice now they have stated they would come back to fix issues and have not.

Sulitz Construction Response • Jun 16, 2020

Hi, I understand the frustration you guys have with your experience with us. But the job wasn’t completed until the 10th and you disputed on the 9th. And Sulitz construction never once had a dispute nor negative comment about work and I told you we would make this right. Which we did. But to start things off, you was obligated to not let me use your belongings, such as pressure washer, wrench and extension cord along with the ladder. I was more than capable to get my own tools for job but you gave me permission to use knowing what we were using it for. I was just trying to save time from heading to my other job site to grab the tools I needed. Also, the paint on the brick and everything is off as I told you we were coming back to finish the job. See pictures below of before and after. We have 48 pictures you had sent to me of the mess-ups needing fixed and I got the same 48 pictures we took showing that everything that was fixed. My guys went back Friday, June 12th, 2020 to do touch ups along with pressure wash overspray. I did inform you that it was difficult to keep brick covered along with spraying due to high winds and the paint for shutters wasn’t sticking properly due to texture so therefore, paint had to be applied thick for it to stick. I repeatedly told you guys that we will get the paint off the brick no problem and we did. But you guys didn’t have faith in the company. We completed the touch ups and pressure washing June 12, 2020. My guys went back today June 15, 2020 to finish touching up siding which was a spot or two and you guys required us to bring spray gun for both areas which wasn’t necessary. We could have easily brushed the paint on and blend it in with everything else so it would have been even all throughout. I told you prior to starting job that it’ll take 2 days to complete and you guys filed the dispute on the 9th of June meanwhile, we still was working. You guys paid me in full on June 10th, 2020 which I told you we would fix the problems along with pressure washing paint off. Cameras are clean. Pillars have been fixed after you tampered with the work completed after I had told you we would fix them. Also, my contract has a month warranty, stated on the back page of the contract so therefore, I told you we would come fix the problem and we did. Now on the note of paying back, that is impossible due to labor cost along with job being completed. You guys got a great deal on the paint job as my regular day rate for labor is $750 a day so if I were to charge you full rate with paint cost of $400.00 and $1500 for labor on top of 30% overhead your job would’ve been $2,470.00. I appreciate your honesty. But my company fulfilled the contract needs and job was completed. So I would appreciate if you would’ve waited for dispute and try to shun my business before job was even completed. Please see pictures for clarification. I’m sorry you had a bad experience but please wait until job is completely done before reporting a business cause the problems have been solved along with pictures to proof point. It’ll only let me upload at 5-6 at a time but I would be honored to show the completion of the project. Thank you.David Sulitz Sulitz Construction

Pictures will be sent if needed to dispute completion of project. Damage to brick still exists as paint was not removed as mentioned. Paint was never to touch brick as it were to be covered per Sulitz. Shutters not evenly painted with bare spots. Screws for shutters are missing and the rest un painted. Globs of extra paint and uneven rough spots can still be found throughout siding, garage door, pillars, facia, and gutters. They used brushes to touch up nearly everything they failed to paint with sprayer leading to visible and still bare brush spots. Underneath of the siding along with the flat surface and corners still have bare spots from not being sprayed evenly or at all.
