Mr [redacted] placed an order for new eyewear on 4/26/ The order included FTLife RX Photochromic lenses (Transition Lenses) which is a coating added to the clear lenses which causes the lens to darken when the lenses are exposed to UV light (sunlight) The lenses will not darken while driving since windshields block the UV light and wearing a cap or hat will also block the sunrays Mr [redacted] received the eyewear order on 5/9/16, however, he did not make a complaint regarding the eyewear until 6/29/when a letter was received from him He believed the transition lenses were not ordered and was requesting a refund The supervisor contacted him by phone and suggested he come by the optical to inspect the lenses That same day Mr [redacted] visited the optical and the supervisor inspected the lenses by placing the lenses in a UV activation machine that simulates the lenses to darken Mr [redacted] viewed this demonstration as the lenses darken and the supervisor also walked with him outside so Mr [redacted] could witness the lenses darkening while exposed to the sunlight He acknowledged that the lenses were in fact darkening while outdoors The supervisor reminded him the lenses would not darken while driving, wearing a cap or hat or if the day in cloudy outside Mr [redacted] left the optical with no further questions or concerns.Additional letters were received from Mr [redacted] within the next few weeks, all with the same complaint and requesting a refund The supervisor called Mr [redacted] after each of these letters and explained the transition lenses were manufactured correctly and he continued to express that the lenses were not getting dark The supervisor suggested he return to the optical so she may demonstrate the activation process to reassure him the lenses were darkening Mr [redacted] did return to the optical several times making the same complaint Each time the supervisor and/or Lead Lab Technician also walked with Mr [redacted] outdoors on a sunny day to display the activation process as the lenses were exposed to the sunlight. The optical has an eyewear policy regarding manufacture defects, policy attached; however, it is our opinion the lenses are not defective In most cases, if the lenses were defective, the manufacture would replace them at no cost to the customer In this circumstance, the lenses are not defective. If further information is required, please contact the supervisor, [redacted] at [redacted] or [redacted]

I PICKED UP THE GLASSES IN MAY. THEY CHANGED TINT AS SOON AS I WENT OUTDOORS. I WAS HAVING HEADACHES SO DR. [redacted] PRESCRIBED NEW LENSES. IT TOOK TWO WEEKS TO GET THEM. THEY WOULD NOT CHANGE TINT EVEN AFTER LOOKING AT THE SUN FOR 15 MINUTES. I HAVE WRITTEN SEVRAL LETTERS AND MADE SEVERAL VISITS. SHANE PUT THEM IN THE ACTIVATION BOX AND WENT OUTSIDE WITH ME. THEY DID WORK. I GOT HOME AND COULD NOT GET THEM TO WORK. THEY ONLY WORK AFTER BEING IN THE ACTIVATION BOX. I WANT A REFUND OF MY $145. I AM THINKING ABOUT CALLING THE TROBULE SHOOTERS AT CAHNNEL 10. I AM ON LIMITED INCOME AND FEEL TAHT I HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF. MY WHOLE FAMILY HAS TOLD ME THAT THEY DO NOT WORK.
