The rental agreement is included in the electronic correspondences that our company uses for all transactionsFurthermore, the rental agreement is posted in its entirety on our websiteThis individual has been informed of both these methods of reviewing the rental agreementOnce again, we want to reiterate, that it impossible for a guest to rent one of our properties without agreeing to the terms of the rental agreementThe system is designed to halt any attempted reservation without the guest agreeing to the terms of the rental agreement

Mr ***,I would like the rental agreement that I allegedly electronically signed forwarded to me.*** ***

This complaint is falseThe guest made a reservation with our companyShe agreed to the rental agreement, which is actually acknowledged in the complaint this guest filedThe agreement clearly states that no refunds are given within days of arrivalThe guest called days prior to arrival
asking about the cancellation policyShe then called back days later and attempted to cancel her reservation (These are fact that are proven by our phone tracking system and notes that our staff made during this guests calls)When the staff attempted to explain that there was no refund, the guest disconnected the callIt is impossible for a guest to make a reservation and give us their credit card without agreeing to the rental agreementThe system will not allow a reservation to go through without this agreementThus, the most basic assertion of this guest is simply and this complaint is an obvious attempt to blackmail our company into refunding money that violates the agreement that was entered intoIf we were to agree to this unethical attempt it would damage our clients (the property owner) by taking money from them, that they are entitled to, and giving it back to the guest who is not entitled to it
Please also not, that in the text of this complaint the guest pasted significant parts of one of the standard communications that we send to all guestsWe devote a great deal of this communication to strongly recommend the purchasing of travel insuranceThis guest chose not to purchase the insuranceThus, she was willing to take the risk that some unforeseen event may cause her to cancel her trip and loose what she paidWhen an unfortunate event did occur, she did not want to suffer the consequences to her earlier decision and thus attempt to extract an inappropriate refund from our companyWe are sympathetic to any guest who have to cancel their tripHowever, it is inappropriate to blame our company for some other unfortunate circumstance that happened.
We are including by way of attachment a sample rental agreement which clearly states our refund policy that this guest agreed to

The complainant sent our company an email several days agoHe asked if we would consider an offer for a month long rental on a property that our company managesWe told him that it was up to the owner of the property if he/she would accept a month long rentalThis person wanted to offer $for
the monthAn SCMR staff member advised him that she thought the offer was too lowShe suggested $Several days passed and then the complainant emailed back and said he would like to make an offer for $At that time, the SCMR staff member realized that the unit rented for more than double that last yearShe informed the complainant of this fact and also apologized that perhaps she had looked at the wrong dates when giving the complainant the original recommendationAll discussion were informal and no quote or promise was ever made to the complainant
At this stage the complainant became belligerentHe threw a temper tantrum and cursed at the staff memberWhen that did not work he resorted to threats of extortion in the form of slandering our company nameIt is our policy to never reward those who believe that threats are a good method to obtain what they wantFurthermore, even if the complainant had been the kindest and most gentle soul, there was absolutely nothing we could do about the situationThe owner of the property that we manage will not accept less than 50% of what he/she received last yearThe complainant does not seem to understand this basic factIt is also worth mentioning that the complainant was inquiring about February of 2015, months from now! His comment that he “lost” opportunities for other properties is simply inflated and irrelevant.
The complainant has gone on to write slanderous posts on our *** pageWe banned him from the *** page and removed his inappropriate commentsHe then created a fraudulent *** account and pretended to be an employee of our companyHe then posted and slanderous information to our *** account which we then deleted as wellHe then used his own *** account to have a fictitious conversation between himself and the aliases he created.
In short the complainant appears to be an unstable person and our company has now banned him from renting from our companyWe have no intention to resolve anything with him as we did nothing wrong, made no promises to him, and his expectations defy all reason

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: the information in his reply is falseFirst, the reply states that I was cursing and was belligerant once I found that I could not rent the condo in question for the price quotedThis is untrueIn point of fact, 100% of our communication was via email, where I remained professional but did inquire on the changeI asked for a specific resolution to the issue and questioned their ability to change the pricingI also stated via email that I had passed on other offers of similar structure and now they have been rentedAs for ***, I did leave a negative review of the company on their *** page which is my right as a consumerThe review says simply: " I am unhappy with the communication from SCMR, I feel mislead"I attempted to leave comments on their website and *** page asking for a resolution, but instead of a reply the comments were simply deletedReviews however can not be deleted by the page owner and those remainThey are public and anyone can validate my claim regarding this. My comments via email expressed dissapointment in what had developed, and due to a lack of resolution I expressed that I would notify the Revdex.com and VRBO of my concerns
Summit County Mountain Retreats can not produce any email from me where my communication with them was not professional or civil. The owner, *** *** furthermore is less credible in this situation because I have found that he reviews his own company online to help promote a higher (inflated) rating on many websites like *** and ***. My request was for them to simply honor the suggested rate of $for months rental. I do understand that honest mistakes can happen, but according to their reply, they feel as if they have the right to change the quote in the middle of negotiations when they find they may be able to get more. Imagine if when checking out at the grocery store, you were buying some eggs for $but the clerk said, "I am sorry but the price of eggs is now $because that is what we sold them for last year, nevermind what the price tag says" I feel this is a dishonest business practice and based on their reply to my complaint, the ficticious nature of their reply, and blatent greed that a complaint had to be registered. Banning me from doing business with them and banning me from accessing their *** page only proves the point that they are trying to cover up their mistakes
Regards,
*** ***
