In response to *** *** 's complaint*** came in on a Sunday and processed an application with us on SundayAt that time she paid her background screening feeOnce we take in an application we process everything that dayWe had sent off her verification to a 3rd party to start her
background process*** called in Monday to cancel her application and we called our screening company to see if her background had already been started and it hadWe called *** back to let her know we could not cancel her check as the process was already startedIt is a nonrefundable fee*** was not happy about it, however she is the one who decided to not continue on services where already providedSincerely, Casie W*** Summit Ridge Apartments Management

Revdex.com,I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and have determined that this does not resolve my complaintFor your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Once again, I wrote a check on Saturday, 9/12/of $for a background check to reserve an apartment at Summit RidgeAgent explained to me that my paperwork is still incomplete will not get processed to include background check until she received my settlement documents via email or fax (which they never received)I was unsure if I qualified being I just sold my home and wanted to make sure check and paperwork will not be processed until they reviewed my settlement documents from title companyI was reassured by Madison that my application would not be processedOn Monday, 9/14/2015, I called and spoke with Madison (same agent that I gave my check to) at 12:09pm saying that I will be withdrawing my paperworkand on 9/15/2015, summit ridge cashed my check Both agent and Manager were very unprofessional and untruthful in handling business under the Summit Ridge name
On the Summit Ridge Welcome instruction letter " the application process" states "to be sure all items requested and ALL FORMS are complete" (which mine were not) and nothing mentions a non-refundable fee for background check.
Madison also informed me that while she awaits documents from title company to complete my application process that she will have to research on how to proceed on a background check being that my drivers license is from the State of Hawaii She said she will contact me once she gathered information and explain to me how long this process would take and if there would be additional fees involved before moving forward with my application since this is the first time she encountered this situationThat phone call never happened due to the fact I called her @12:pm on Monday 09/14/to cancel before she obtained said information
Since Honesty in this matter is of utmost importance I hereby Request that you ask Summit Ridge to produce their phone company record showing they made an outgoing call to me on Monday, 9/14/(which they never did) Casie herself communicated to me verbally on a phone call I placed to her on Sept30th @ 4:pm that she personally heard Madison call me on September 29th telling me that she could not refund my check..(which again that phone call never happened)
Casie (Manager) said that summit ridge will not be responsible of paying my background check even if I cancel once they start to process my paperwork (of which was never completed and submitted to them)
I feel they take advantage of low-income people and Casie definitely treated me like I'm worthless and she assured me I wouldn't get my money back and hang up phone on me Further more I was shocked and mortified that a Corporation such as Summit Ridge that is in the business of providing Low Income Housing to the less fortunate would be in the practice of retaining fees for background checks when an applicant cancels on the following Monday prior to the application process (all paperwork being complete and in their possession ) knowing that low income pertains to people with limited fundsI will be more than happy to supply you The Revdex.com a copy of my supporting documents i.e; Summit Ridges "welcome letter" and my phone records pertaining to the dates in question upon your request Your help in expediting this matter is much appreciated.Best Regards,*** ***
