I am very upset that this complaint was made and accusing me of not being able to understand EnglishThe three customers ordered a medium boat and a long list Sashimi and a Samwai RoleI understood the order and wrote it down exactly what they had asked forThe chef prepared their order and I
gave the customers the foodThey ate all of the food with out mentioning they didn't intend to order it allWhen I gave the customers the check they told me they had not order much of the foodI called over my Irish colleague to sort out the situationHe told me they did not want to pay for the food and claimed they had not ordered all of itThe owner said the mustI felt like they were slamming my EnglishI do feel this was the customer's mistakeI work very hard to make money and this would never be the way I would make my money

I understand completely that our waitress is concerned about losing income due to our complaint, and that is not what I would like to see happen. I am still convinced, however, that she should have informed us about how to order the boat: that we could not choose which sushi and sashimi would come on the boat. In fact, our waitress barely spoke to us at all, and when she did it was so quiet we had trouble understanding her. Therefore I am not content with her taking offense to my "slamming her English," when it was her fault we did not understand that we ordered too much food. This is the reason we did not complain as soon as the food arrived; we had no idea we ordered so much.My main concern with my experience at Sumo Sushi was that the only person with financial power was the chef, who has very limited proficiency in English. Therefore when I took up the issue with another waiter who was kind enough to listen, he informed me that he was powerless to take off the excess charges from our bill. I have no problem with the chef doing his best to make a living in this country, but I expect that a business in this country have at least one English-speaker available to deal with complaints. While it was very kind of the other waiter to discuss our issue with us, he was incapable of helping beyond explaining where the misunderstanding occurred. I will lay out my issues here for clarity's sake: (1) That it was not explained to us that we were ordering incorrectly and much in excess; (2) That we could not get the $60 excess taken off our bill; and (3) That this business has no one available who is both fully English-proficient and vested with adequate power to assist their customers in the course of normal operations.I respectfully await your response.
