Sun Bright Pool Services Reviews (13)

They work with home warranty companies get a service call charge, say it's pre existing which is a lie since it was turned on by my pool person and then try to overcharge for the serviceSo about $retail in parts charges almost $for a hr of around to So almost $markup my pool guy can do it for $lessCan you say scam!!! Plus they get the warranty call money as wellBeware

Recently had pump motor problems we called our home warranty and they sent out SunBrite Pool SunBrite Pool came out was really rude then they said there was water damage which I find it hard to believe then they wanted to charge me - $for a new motor I called my home warranty and ask for a second opinion they sent out another pool company who told me there was no sign of water damage to the motor it was just a bad motor which they had replaced out because it was covered under our warranty SunBrite Pool don't want nothing but money next time I use my home warranty and they automatically put SunBrite Pool to come out again I'm going to have to request the other pool company if you run into SunBrite Pool watch out for their attitudes

I purchased my home in February I have had Sun Bright out times since the purchase Terrible experience out of visitsMy AHS home warranty company calls them as their preferred vendor, part of the problem There is a $deductible each visit, part of Sun Bright's scam 1st call was internal parts of the filter that had come apart in my pool After repair they blamed it on air in the line 2nd call was for the filer actually coming apart externally Blamed on air in the skimmer line Curious why that wasn't diagnosed the first time 3rd call on 7/was for a pump motor going bad Replaced it which was a good feeling Tech said there is air in the system, sound familiar? Said if it wasn't corrected it could cause the new motor to go bad or many other things Thought there was a plumbing problemSaid to call in a new service call with AHS and he would come out and redo the plumbing 7/came out to redo the plumbing Replace a screw No plumbing repair Made very clear on 7/it needed it and would result in many future problems Best practice would be to stay away from this company

SunBright Pool Services are unethical, underhanded and deceitful. And overpriced. Do not use. If your home warranty sends them to you - ask for a different company.
Our pool maintenance company advised us that we had a small crack in our casing of our filter and advised us to call [redacted] since they knew we were insured with them. They service our pool weekly.
[redacted] sent over one of their preferred pool vendors, Sunbright Pool. A trusting person - I let the jolly fellow into our yard, offered him water or coffee as he did his assessment and left him alone to do his professional job. I was working on a deadline.
He called me out to let me know that the filter was absolutely filthy - it clearly hadn't been cleaned in a very long time . This contributed to the high PSI he said had read - which caused the pressure creak in the casing. This didn't make sense as our pool company had been over the day before to service - and minus the little crack- the pool was running quietly and looking beautiful. Sunbright took photos of the filter - and said he would send them into [redacted]. He said he would do his best to present the full case but 'pictures do not lie'.
He went out to his truck to do up his report and send the photos. He came back shortly and said our claim had been denied. For neglect. Since [redacted] would not cover the cost - he tried to upsell us on a entire new filter system for $1132.00 ... Or his company could install a used upper casing for $400.00 but only had a 3 month guarantee.
Sunbright also spoke to my husband at work. Again - pictures do not lie. Nothing he could do. We decided to reach out to our own pool company to understand why this had happened. Sunbright left our filter out - as it was 'too heavy' to put back in the casing with so much filth on it. He did put the empty casing back together when requested.
Our pool company was enraged - came over the next business day - ordered a new top casing from Hayward - with a full Hayward guarantee - which cost us less than the used one Sunbright had offered.
As our pool company was adamant the the filter had been fine - and a scam was most likely in the making - I followed up with [redacted] a week later. I spoke to two customer service reps -- no pictures had been sent into [redacted]. None. Ever. They said they would look into it.
I called [redacted] again in four days when we hadn't heard back - and spoke to another csr - they were still waiting for the report from the vendor - but there were still no pictures on file. I escalated my call to the csr supervisor, and then escalated my call to a more senior level who told me that our claim had been denied due to neglect as there was 35-40 lbs of dirt in our filter. I explained that was a lie - and Sunbright had told us the claim was denied -and no one from [redacted] had ever actually told us we were declined and why. And I questioned the integrity of their choice of vendors. She escalated the call to the home authorization head.
We presented the entire story (again) to this level - including the diagnosis done by our pool people, the drama free invoice they charged us to fix our pool, and a photo of filter that we had taken. We offered to show them a year of weekly invoices of cleaning, backwashing, filter cleaning, etc.
Good news is ... once [redacted] had the honest facts regarding our claim, it was approved.
What we were so violated about was that the jolly Sunbright employee had completely lied about submitting photos, and didn't listen to the fact that we had a reliable pool service doing the work. He then used this service call that [redacted] had sent him out on to try and sell us on another more expensive system, AND - diminished our current pool company and suggested using another pool company they were associated with.
We looked back in our records and [redacted] had sent this company to our home before - when our pool heater went. Again - sunbright SAID that [redacted] refused the claim (that same call....) and they could put in a $3500 heater for us. The $3500 could be found online for substantially less.
Very disappointed that this vendor is on a home warranty referral list -as we trust the vendors that are sent into a person's home (that the homeowner has not chosen) to be honest, fair, have integrity and be competitive with their pricing.
SunBright is one of the most unscrupulous, unethical, deceitful and exploitative companies I have dealt with. However, I didn't pick them to come into my home, but I can share my experience so they won't come into yours.

Same story as others, called out 3-4 times for warranty work but declined to do the work with a different excuse each time. Finally gave me the number to test for ungrounded leaks. Owner called to tell at me saying he is sick of calling in authorizations because the warranty company hold times bother him. That of course is why everyone you read about here is having issues. Warranty company wins, no claims. Sunbright wins, $75 for doing nothing. Customer loses. All together I have spent $225 with sunbright and another $195 for the line testing they said I needed. The leak still persists. Everyone else looking at it can see it plain as day but not sunbright. They just call yelling at me that I don't trust them. No I don't, no one should. Working on legal remedies. Letting the state know the scam. Everyone make sure you tell any real estate agents. Warn them about AHS home warranties and sunbright pools. Jason is the rudest person, a bully in my opinion.

My pool pump was leaking so I called [redacted] home warranty and 15 minutes later I received a call from Sun Bright pool service to schedule my service. They came out the next morning and were right on time. They were professional, knowledgeable and didn't leave a mess. My pump is fixed and running great. I would highly tecommend them and would use them again

Sun Bright Pools was dispatched from AHS to my house due to sand entering my pool and in floor cleaner pop ups getting stuck in the "up" position. The technician from Sun Bright, I believe his name is "[redacted]" diagnosed the sand in the pool being from cracked laterals. This is spot on as I knew this from my experience, the insight from my pool cleaner, and another professional opinion.
[redacted] turned in information to AHS which led them to decline the responsibility to cover the repair under my home warranty. He told them the concrete slab beneath the filter was broken and the filter was leaning so badly it must have cracked the laterals. This was stated from the AHS rep. and when I talked to [redacted] myself. When I asked him if he had pictures, he said yes. I asked him to email me them and he said they would have to come from AHS to me. He also said he sent the pictures to AHS. AHS told me twice they did not receive pictures from him.
[redacted] said when a filter shifts it breaks everything inside, thus my laterals are cracked. He even claimed to know which of the laterals cracked even though he never opened the filter or removed the sand to discover further.
I asked him if simple question, "if the filter shifted enough to break laterals that are completely surrounded by sand (in sense protected from moving), how come the 3 PVC connections that are external to the filter did not break in the slightest manner. His dumbfounded response to my figuring out he was being a fraud was, "well they will probably break soon." It makes absolutely zero sense with him to make his decision other than he weighed out what he would make on this job vs. the time it would take to do it, so he submitted it to be declined.
Further, AHS told me the technician ([redacted]) recommended I replace the entire filter and they even quoted me a price. Why would I put a brand new filter on this slab that was broken???? Outside if his fraudulent work, he lied to me about what was done in his interaction with AHS to come to the conclusion.
Maybe he/his company will change their practices. As of right now, I simply want anybody who has a choice to use or not use him/his company understand the experience I was given.

We went out threw his home warranty insurance for a plumbing issue and it ended up being his heater. We do not work on heaters threw his insurance company and told him that he would have to have another company come out. His $65 service fee was due per his insurance agreement. There will be no...

refund since we did our protocol.

They broke our pump and charged us for it and still nothing works. They are scam artists taking people's money. The owner is rude and yelled at my mother and myself. Stay away!!!!!!!!

Please see attached.

Stay away from this company!
I used this company to inspect the pool of the home I was purchasing. The inspection took place at the end of December of 2014. The inspector's notes say that everything was in perfect working conditions and with no leaks.
Well, there's a leak and the filter cartridges are broken and useless. They need to be replaced (about $100 each).
I called them to talk to the inspector and the owner was the one who answered the phone and didn't even want to transfer my call. He was very rude and ordinary; he talked over me all of the time and blamed me for "owning a pool", giving me all kinds of excuses trying to convince me that all of these problems happened after the inspection (I moved in one month after the inspection). He was very defensive since the beginning of my call and never accepted any kind of responsibility for their poor job on the inspection.
Awful job!
Awful customer service!

The issue was with the plumbing, not the heater.

They work with home warranty companies get a service call charge, say it's pre existing which is a lie since it was turned on by my pool person and then try to overcharge for the service. So about $400 retail in parts charges almost $900 for a 1 hr of around 85 to 90. So almost $400 markup my pool guy can do it for $250 less. Can you say scam!!! Plus they get the warranty call money as well. Beware
