Service is OK but communication of charges not good.
I have mixed feelings about Sun City Mechanical and this was my experience. My heat went out on December 23, 2022. Marcos from Sun City Mechanical arrived on the 30th and discovered it was the rollout switch. The part was ordered and installed on January 9, 2023 by a technician who goes by the name GAllen3#Clifford. That is the name that was used on the text for scheduling along with his photo and the name used on the text I received to rate my experience.

When GAllen3#Clifford arrived on the 9th he installed the rolloff switch and then stated that the gas valve may also be sticking. The only way to know was to check if there was 24v going to the valve when the igniter tried to release the gas. Instead of checking the voltage that day, as he already had the cover back on, he asked if I have a voltage meter and if I could check it when the temperature was cooler in the morning. It would save him a trip and would indicate the valve needed to be replaced. I thought it strange but agreed to check the voltage when the temps cooled in the morning and discovered the voltage was 24 volts but the burner would not ignite. I contacted GAllen3#Clifford and he stated he would order a new gas valve. The HVAC was under warranty for both parts so I was charged for labor only.

I asked GAllen3#Clifford on the 9th if there would be a new charge if the gas valve had to be replaced. He stated that there would be no new service call fee and it would be as if he never left. Then, as he was packing up his tools, he stated he would have to charge me $30 to replace the gas valve if indeed it needed to be replaced because he had to drive to Carrier in south Phoenix to get the part.

GAllen3#Clifford returned on the January 11,2023 to replace the gas valve. The next day I received another invoice for $86.63 which I thought was for the two invoices combined. When I called he stated that I needed to pay both the service call and the 30 minute labor to install the gas valve. If he would have said he was charging for 30 minutes labor on the 9th I would have asked how much he charges per hour or what 30 minutes costs but when he said $30 there was no need to ask that question. Who charges an odd amount for an hour labor? $86.63 for 30 minutes is equal to $173.26 per hour.

In conclusion, Sun City Mechanical and the two technicians I had were friendly and, polite. The job was completed and is working for now. However, their communication of what is being charged leaves a lot to be desired. That’s why I rate the Sun City Mechanical 3 stars.

Friendly, efficient and reasonably priced. Have used SCM since 2004.

I had a leaky toilet and Sergio came out last Friday to tell me that what I had was a power flush unit and he would have to order parts for it. I was called that he could install the new unit on Tuesday. He replaced the new power flush unit in a short amount of time. He was very pleasant and left the bathroom spotless. Thanks Sergio.

I called early evening on a Sunday when my a/c went out. I left my name and phone number and was called back within 5-10 minutes. The operator told me someone would be out within an hour and that he would call before coming. Brent D was the technician and was here within the hour, checked my unit to determine the problem and fixed it. Started cooling immediately. Brent was prompt, professional and extremely courteous. Cannot say enough good things about Sun City Mechanical and Brent D. Will not hesitate to recommend Sun City Mechanical

My a.c. went out in the middle of the day I called and within an hour the came it looked at my a.c. unit and fixed it within 20 minutes..

I don't ordinarily review an institution that's doing a good job because that should be expected. However, I've had the good fortune of acquiring services from a couple of great companies here in Sun City, one of which is Sun City Mechanical. Over the years they've done everything for me from laying new water line from the meter to the house to, removing and installing toilets, and, some things in between. The're good at what they do, courteous while doing it and reasonably priced. Don't believe there's anything better than that.

5/7/18 scm came out to fix my Ac at 4pm replaced 1/3hp fan motor gave me a receipt
For $575 l asked for a detailed receipt the man said we don't give detailed receipts
Man left at 5:15 l contacted scm 4 more times for detailed receipt No receipt
All business give detailed receipts
I guess my details would be

1/3hp motor Less than $200
Labor one hour. $375

Mr. did contact us for a breakdown of his bill for a new motor, capacitor and coil cleaning. We use flat rate pricing, which means we do not charge separately for parts and labor. Instead, we have pre-determined (or pre-calculated) what each individual job costs, taking into account the cost of parts, labor, gas, insurance, rent, etc and a fair profit margin. We cannot simply or easily breakdown our prices because of all the factors that go into the cost, it would not be accurate. We tried to explain this to Mr. many times. We are not out to take advantage of senior citizens. In fact, we gave Mr. a 5% discount on the job, he paid $546.25. After researching the competition in our service area, which is mainly Sun City and Sun City West, we have found that their prices far exceed ours, sometimes doubling the cost. We take pride in the fact that we are customer service focused and maintain fair prices. We always have the best interest of our customers in mind and would never take advantage of anyone.

I just recently purchased. My house the house went into escrow. On May 2nd. During escrow.the home inspection reveled there was rust and a clogged drain line from the air handler. I requested it be fixed. The seller sent me a receipt from sun city mechanical. .on April 17th 2017 the had came outt to look at the problem the tech had stated on the receipt drains flowing clean and properly. So I took it as no problems. I moved into my house on June 14th and things were OK. On July 15th 2017. A water leak developed in the hall bathroom near light fixture. Soaking the drywall and. Lifting the paint. I had called my home warranty. On July 17th. Grand Canyon came out and looked at the air handler. And determined the drain trap was 100% clogged. After paying my deductive 65.00 it was fixed. However. The damage to my drywall was not covered. They said it was secondary damage after taking pictures and the clogged line over to sun city mechanical. They said they would send somebody out to assess the damage. They had asked me what I wanted I told them. Reinvestment of my 65.00 dectable and the repair of my walls. After a week. On Monday 7/24. Try sent the lead tech to look at the damage he was at my home a total of 5 minutes. And they won't rectify the mistake of a improper diagnosis. I have tried calling them several times with no response. Today I called again. And they told my. Don't call no more. Not gonna fix it that the owner won't call me back. This left me no alternative then to file this complaint. All I am asking for is the reinvestment of my y5.00 delectable and my bathroom fixed right this problem would not have existed if the tech had done Proper diagnosis and did his job properly

My AC went out a couple of years ago and Sun City Mechanical said I needed a new compressor so I had them install a new compressor. I had my fan motor go out 2 weeks later and this year they said my compressor was bad again and warranty had expired.
