Review: This so called business is criminal!

Watch out for Chula Vista landscape design a.k.a. Sun Diego construction and landscaping. [redacted] is a smooth talker that will promise you good quality work.

Everything [redacted] told me was nothing but false from the start. When I hired [redacted] for job in my backyard he told me it will take about 3 weeks. Well 3weeks turned into well over 2 months. After many complaints to [redacted] about quality of his work and workers I had to fire him. All of his workers I suspect were undocumented. They spoke none or very little English. Plus, there was never the same worker. I saw a different face every day. Sometimes nobody would show up at all and when worker did come they were here for no more than 3 hours a day. The workers trashed my yard. and never cleaned up after themselves I told [redacted] this and he stop returning my calls. How can you finish a job with 4 big dirt mounds, busted up concrete and re bar everywhere? They would put a mess on top of another mess. And when it came to walls in my backyard they were not leveled. The workers had to tear down a wall 3 times to get it straight. Where was [redacted], shouldn’t he be here checking the quality of his work. I became the super attendant.

After firing [redacted] I did some research on him. Everything that I found on him was nothing but negative. He ([redacted]) is not even licensed through the state of California. So, everything he did in my backyard was illegal...He will flash you a fake license but he is not legit. This is not a real business! On yelp there is not one good review about this Guys Company or companies….

I just want to warn people about [redacted]. I don’t want people to through the stress that my family went through. Like I said everything about this guy is false. He cuts too many corners. [redacted] will get the cheapest material and workers out there. What he promises you he cannot deliver. He does not have the money to get what you want. You have been warned!Desired Settlement: He should go to jail!. Everything about this [redacted] is false.

Review: We hired Sun Diego Design and Construction to landscape the hill in our back yard, build a wall in our backyard and do some general landscaping in our side yard (including laying sod and fixing our side yard. The owner of the company ([redacted]) gave us a quote that included a wall with lights, sod put down on our side yard, and total landscaping of our hill in our back yard. He would drop off a different guy everyday (they only worked for about 3 hours a day and they were different everyday (I highly suspect they were undocumented workers). The workers did not have water or any way to reach [redacted] when they needed something. I called him several times to tell him that it was inappropriate that these guys did not know what they were doing. After over a month (he promised us 2 weeks) he told us he was done and wanted the rest of his pay. There were no lights on the wall, no sod laid down on the side yard. He did very little actual landscaping on our hill and worst he has screwed up our sprinkler system. He left our yard in shambles (there is trash everywhere) and he said he knew it wasn't done right, but he had no more time. This guy is a criminal and should not be conducting business in Chula Vista!Desired Settlement: Although we do not want a full refund as he did build the wall. This work was so horrible and unprofessional, our biggest goal is to bring attention to this criminal business.

Review: Contract was signed on 11/5/2014 for the front and back yard. Verbal agreement to finish the job before thanksgiving 11/27/14. The backyard is about 90 % complete and the front yard about 70 % complete. The front lawn artificial turf is not yet done needs to finish installing the artificial turf near the sidewalk in front of the house. The job is not yet done up to the present. Talk to the Mr. [redacted] several times made promises it will be done soon but promises are not fulfilled. Lots of phone calls with no return call made, spoke to his workers to call and even called his son and spoke to him to tell his father to call me back regarding completion of the contract. Email sent and letter was sent no answer. Last time to talk to him personally was on 2/18/15 promised to have it done by next week but still not done. No workers showing everyday since contract was signed. Workers will show up but would only work for 2 hours the most and will be gone. All scheduled payments were paid to him except for the last payment when the contract is completed. Quality of work is not up to par short cuts are being made. He have another contract with our neighbor up the street from us and it is almost completed that is very upsetting since we were the first one to have the contract with him and we are left hanging.Desired Settlement: The desired outcome we wanted to have finish the job and do job correctly.

Review: Worked with [redacted], owner of SD Design and Contraction AKA SD Landscape and Design. He installed backyard sprinklers and drip system and grass at our new home. It took almost 3 months to complete the work, and after the sprinklers only worked in some spots and not others, so grass and plants started to die. The sprinklers also had several leaks and our grass started to flood in other spots. Called [redacted] several times, sometimes he would call back and promise to come over and he never would. He has stopped returning calls and text messages. Have spent around $1400 on the yard and now it will cost close to $800 to repair and replace (includes replacing dead plants, new grass and sprinkler repairs. In addition, our water bill has suffered because of the leaks, which is an additional cost not included. Also, the work they did perform was not the best quality. They left our yard a disaster and a few times had teenagers over doing the work without [redacted]. When they delivered mulch, it spilled onto our street and they did not clean it up.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund back in the amount that it will take to repair my yard with a different company.
