Sun-Golden Kennels Reviews (9)

This kennel seemed to be a great choice at first based on other reviews and its cleanlinessUNFORTUNATELY SUN GOLDEN KENNELS HAS A BIG SECRETThey are in a residential neighborhood and when all the customers have left for the night they USE SHOCK COLLARS to control barking dogsWe know this for a fact because our (young puppy) came home with a shocking device buried deep in his skin beneath his furIt had been left on for over hrs and caused him severe burns that required veterinary careThe owner even admitted to this practice and said that they try to spray the dogs in the face with water first if they are barkingOur puppy's injuries were severe enough that the local law authorities had to get involved!!! What makes things even worse is that he was traumatized his very first time at a boarding kennelPLEASE STAY AWAY if you love your pets as much as we doI would hate to see this situation happen to anyone else, considering the kennel owners showed no remorse for their actions

Our policy here at Sun-Golden kennels is NOT to board dogs/girls/bhes that are in season (cycle, doggie period, bleeding, whatever term people opt’s to call it.) All employees including my husband know this rule and would never break it Therefore; I know that Ms [redacted] did not disclose this information when dropping offIf she would have her dog would not have been allowed to enterNo if ands or buts about itWhich is clearly stated on our website ..http://www.sungoldenkennels.com/index.asp?ID= I believe, nothing was said, because she was going on vacation and she did not want those plans interrupted As she not want to be bothered with this while on vacation, even though we contacted her at the number which she put on the boarding form as ***'s emergency phone # & contactAll dogs boarding fill out a form when coming to be boardedI have attached a copy of the ***’s Several things you will see have been altered; this was done by me, [redacted] , when I realized the information on it was not correct(on 4-3-15) IeFemale & neutered are circled I crossed off the Neutered and added IntackThe rate changed from $to $because of the dog being intack Which this would have been done had we been told the dog was intack Add the vet charge If you read the consent, which Ms [redacted] opt’d to sign her husband’s name, when she was the one dropping off? It gives us permission to obtain vet care and also that all vet expenses will be paid prior to the dog leaving FYI on in season dogs .most lay people do not know a thing about a dog’s cycle Bear with me I will explain this as simply as possible, but it will explain why we take no in season dogs, weather it is the beginning, middle or end of their cycle no girls are the same and you have no way of knowing unless you have done blood tests ..so for this reason we do not take them at all With that said, on average a girl dog is in season for days, their optimum breeding days are between and for most, but again, must do a blood test to know for sure So even if I were to entertain the fact that she says, “she told him she was at the end of her season”, How could that be ..because the day I took her to the vet, April 3, she was prime Now this was days after she had dropped off So this means that her dog was to days in to her season that is no whereas near the end As for her not to be with the boys ..all dogs are let out in to the play yards that we have according to play level and temperament As we do not have individual indoor/outdoor runs This has always been the way it has been since the ***’s started boarding with usThey also know this as they were given a tour the first time [redacted] was boarded here I know this is a lot to read through, please feel free to contact me by phone if you have further questions or need anything cleared up Sincerely, [redacted] Owner -- [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Regards, [redacted] Mrs [redacted] is in denial by stating that her husband was not aware that [redacted] was in heat Mr [redacted] admitted saying, "I thought you said she was at the end of her cycle." So it is obvious that this conversation about [redacted] being in heat took placeMr [redacted] needs to be sworn into oath in a courtroom and admit that he knew [redacted] was in heat Regardless of what your website says, Mr [redacted] knew she was in heat and still accepted her

1. [redacted] was definately in heat when I dropped her off and I told Mr. [redacted] she was in heat.  Although their website says they do not accept dogs in heat, Mr. [redacted] accepted her
2. I did not state anything about  [redacted] being at the end of her cycle. I told Mr. [redacted] "[redacted] is in heat."  If Mr. [redacted] were to appear in court under oath, he would perjure himself unless he said that I told him that [redacted] was in heat.
3. If Mr. [redacted] would not accept [redacted] due to her being in heat, I did have an alternate plan for her.  I have neighbors who offered to watch [redacted] but I chose to take her to the kennel so she could be around other dogs (definitely not male dogs woud would rape her).
4. The words "female" and "neutered" were circled. I am the one who crossed off the word "neutered."
5.  If Mr. [redacted] says that I said something about [redacted] being at the end of her cycle, then obviously the subject of her being in heat was mentioned.  Therefore, I place my right hand on a stack of Bibles and under oath, I swear that I told him that [redacted] was in heat.
6. Regarding the emergency phone call, I talked to Mrs. [redacted] who informed me that [redacted] was raped. Then I talked to Mr. [redacted] who told me that [redacted] had received a shot from the vet.  The third time that Mr. [redacted] called,he wanted to talk about the bill.  I told him I would talk to him when I got back to Wisconsin.  Mrs. [redacted] was mad that I did not settle the bill and stated that I did not accept the emergency call.  Settling a bill is not an emergency.
7.  The Revdex.com should see the original paperwork to see that I am the one who crossed off the word "neutered."

I believe, nothing was said, because she was going on vacation and she did not want those plans interrupted.  As she not want to be bothered with this while on vacation, even though we contacted her at the number which she put on the boarding form as [redacted]'s emergency phone # & contact.
All dogs boarding fill out a form when coming to be boarded. I have attached a copy of the [redacted]’s.  Several things you will see have been altered; this was done by me, [redacted], when I realized the information on it was not correct. (on 4-3-15) Ie. Female & neutered are circled.  I crossed off the Neutered and added Intack. The rate changed from $20 to $30 because of the dog being intack.  Which this would have been done had we been told the dog was intack.  Add the vet charge.  If you read the consent, which Ms. [redacted] opt’d to sign her husband’s name, when she was the one dropping off?.  It gives us permission to obtain vet care and also that all vet expenses will be paid prior to the dog leaving.

FYI on in season dogs….most lay people do not know a thing about a dog’s cycle.  Bear with me I will explain this as simply as possible, but it will explain why we take no in season dogs, weather it is the beginning, middle or end of their cycle……no 2 girls are the same and you have no way of knowing unless you have done blood tests…..so for this reason we do not take them at all.  With that said, on average a girl dog is in season for 21 days, their optimum breeding days are between 10 and 14 for most, but again, must do a blood test to know for sure.  So even if I were to entertain the fact that she says, “she told him she was at the end of her season”,  How could that be…..because the day I took her to the vet, April 3, she was prime.  Now this was 7 days after she had dropped off.  So this means that her dog was 3 to 7 days in to her season……that is no whereas near the end.

As for her not to be with the boys…..all dogs are let out in to the 4 play yards that we have according to play level and temperament.  As we do not have individual indoor/outdoor runs.  This has always been the way it has been since the [redacted]’s started boarding with us. They also know this as they were given a tour the first time [redacted] was boarded here.

I know this is a lot to read through, please feel free to contact me by phone if you have further questions or need anything cleared up.

Sincerely,
[redacted]

This kennel seemed to be a great choice at first based on other reviews and its cleanliness. UNFORTUNATELY SUN GOLDEN KENNELS HAS A BIG SECRET. They are in a residential neighborhood and when all the customers have left for the night they USE SHOCK COLLARS to control barking dogs. We know this for a fact because our (young puppy) came home with a shocking device buried deep in his skin beneath his fur. It had been left on for over 24 hrs and caused him severe burns that required veterinary care. The owner even admitted to this practice and said that they try to spray the dogs in the face with water first if they are barking. Our puppy's injuries were severe enough that the local law authorities had to get involved!!! What makes things even worse is that he was traumatized his very first time at a boarding kennel. PLEASE STAY AWAY if you love your pets as much as we do. I would hate to see this situation happen to anyone else, considering the kennel owners showed no remorse for their actions.

Best place I have taken my dogs. Caring, Friendly and plenty of room for the dogs to play.
