to the Sunday before school starts in AugustThis spring we discovered that our pool needed extensive renovations to extend the life of the year old poolWe contacted a professional company to do the work, which required many days with no rain in order to sandblast, clean, prime and paint effectivelyThe weather this spring and early summer was unusually rainy and work was significantly delayed, resulting in a delay of the pool's opening day
Members are encouraged to sign up to receive email updates regarding pool business and announcementsThe complainant is not signed up for those updatesemail updates were sent from March 8-June keeping members informed of progress and expected opening dateThe pool Facebook page was also updated times during that periodThe complainant does not attend our shareholders' meetings that occur twice a year, nor did he attempt to contact the pool board by mail, email, or FacebookOur names are listed in the mailed newsletter every spring and most of us are in the local phone book
The complainant is incorrect in his statement that we charge monthly, and the dues that are yearly are $265, not $as he statesThe pool is available to rent for private parties BEFORE the pool opens each day at noon, and AFTER it closes at 7:00pm, so members are not inconvenienced by thisThe pool is open for members to swim from noon-7:00pm, seven days per week, weather permitting
The pool's phone is only operational during the summer months when the pool is openThere is no reason to pay this bill all winterDuring the summer months when the pool is open, the phone is always answered by the pool manager or staff
Since we are all shareholders in this private pool, we will not be offering reimbursement to the complainant or anyone elseThis renovation was necessary to extend the life of our pool and the weather was an unforeseen circumstance that could not have been predicted, nor could it be helpedThe pool opened for the season on June 16th and is running very well
The complainant may choose to have his membership refunded in fullIf he chooses to do so, his membership and stock in the pool will be null and void and he and his family will no longer be members, according to the pool bylaws
