Sun Services Reviews (1)

Review: On Saturday, August 31st at approximately 11:00 PM, I gave my keys to the valet of Sun Service Inc outside Cities Lounge and Restaurant at [redacted], NW, Washington DC. When I returned my ticket to the valet at 2:30 AM, the vehicle could not be located for an hour and a half. After the vehicle could not be found, I contacted the DC police and filed a report of a lost vehicle. After filing the report, the valet representative informed me that the vehicle keys (with house keys included) were given to an individual claiming my car to be his. I told him this could not be possible if I was holding the parking ticket. The vehicle was later found at 3:45 AM parked a block away in an alley. The attendant and manager took full responsibility to replace all keys and damage done to the vehicle. Police officer, [redacted] (badge #[redacted]), noted in report #[redacted] the agreement by both parking personnel. In order to get access to my home, the vehicle locks were jimmied by my roadside assistance so that I would have access to my garage opener. Sun Service Inc now refuses to pay for associated vehicle damage caused by my having to get the vehicle jimmied because of their negligence with my keys. Additinally, locksmith services were procured for my home locks and the mailbox key requires replacement.Desired Settlement: Full reimbursement for all costs incurred as a result of the vendor's negligence. Costs consist of $174 for home lock replacement; $827.90 for body shop repairs; $50 for mailbox key replacement and $20 for valet parking paid prior to providing my keys. Total costs = $1071.90.

Complaint

RESPONCE TO THE COMPLAINT ID # [redacted] filed on 9/6/2013 by [redacted]

I, [redacted], am the President of Sun Service Inc. We are a reputable company with more than 10 years of experience. On August, 31, 2013, at approximately 3:00 am, [redacted], realized that her car keys were missing and she reported them stolen with the police department. That night, she also contacted the Lexus roadside service department. The police officer and I were on the premises until they arrived. The vehicle locks were jimmied and opened at that time. The person assured her that no damages will be done to the vehicle and used a cloth to open it carefully. Once he finished, the officer and I left. One of my employees, stayed behind to give her a ride to her house. Before they left, she somehow locked the car doors again by mistake and made a call to a different road side assistance company. They too jimmied the lock. My employee witnessed them damaging the car. As a result of the second occurrence, the claimant wanted me to pay another bill for $827.90 for the body shop repairs to which my company has refused to pay. After the second roadside assistant opened the car, my employee gave her a ride home.

Monday, September 2, 2013 was the Labor Day holiday; therefore I personally went to [redacted] Lexus Service in [redacted], VA on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 and paid the cost of the car key replacement with my [redacted] credit card. The total amount was $466.05.

Afterwards, she called asking me for an additional $827.90 to cover the body shop repairs. I was surprised and called the dealer. I spoke with a sales person in the service department. He described the damage and I told him, I was there that night and no damage was done to the vehicle while the Lexus roadside assistant was there. He stated that he did not want to be in the middle of this conversation, so we ended it. Then I talked to her on the phone and reiterated that I'd take full responsibility for replacing her car, mailbox keys and the keys to her home. I do not feel responsible for the body shop repair cost. Secondly, I wrote her a check for $224. That total $690.05 covers the cost of her car keys ($466.05), home key replacement ($174.00) and the mailbox key replacement ($50).

Again, I do not believe my company is responsible for any additional costs rather than the replacement of her keys. This was settled in my opinion, on the night of Aug. 31, 2013, with her when the police officer was present.
