Review: 9/10/2014 - [redacted] of Sun State Roofing was contacted to perform leak repairs on my roof. The original estimate in dispute covered maintenance and repairs to stop existing leaks which were well pointed out and in all cases downstream of existing dormer vents. Work was also done to remove existing downspouts, this work was completed and is not in dispute.

9/12/2014 - original work was completed by Sun State Roofing.

9/14/2014 - (dates approximated) - another large rain showed leaks in all of the same places and Sun State Roofing was again contacted. A few days later they showed up and patched one of three known leak areas.

9/21/2014 - another rain came and again we had leaks in all of the same places, even that which was patched though the patch was likely downstream of the leak in the first place. Sun state was again contacted and showed up to patch small areas near leaks 2 and 3.

9/27/2014 - another rain and still leaks in all of the original places, another was even recognized downstream of the fourth and final dormer vent. Sun state was contacted again with status that none of the work fixed anything. After a week passed with no contact I sent an email describing how I would be informing [redacted] etc about this issue if I do not get a full refund.

10/6/2014 - [redacted] of Sun State Roofing contacted me by phone and when I mentioned the two year leak guarantee on my estimate I was told the following:

- The paper on my roof is bad making repair a chore (to which I reply - do not make a guarantee in such a case then).

- Sun State had spent at least $1400 in extra materials patching those few small places (this is absolutely not the case).

- Sun State has had unhappy customers in the past.

- Sun State will in fact take a lien out against my house for these un-agreed upon 'extra' materials.

[redacted] continued to scream into the phone for a few more minutes about how he was basically going to make my life a living hell. I could only think how unfortunate it was that the call was not being recorded.

Furthermore, I have since been on my roof with a roofing contractor and a general contractor and both believed that the dormer vents were simply glued down to the roof making no attempt to divert water from going under the tiles, a very obvious oversight by Sun State during the original maintenance / repair that they did.Desired Settlement: Full cash refund minus maximum $500 for materials that were used.

This company and its owner are nothing short of awesome. Service was first rate and the work done was above and beyond what was expected. I was unable to be home while the work was being done but they provided pictures of before, during and after the work. They left my roof better than new and it looked like no one was ever there. I would highly recommend this company as someone to trust and would not hesitate using them again. 6/24/15

I choose sun state roofing for repair of a leaking patio roof. Their bid was a little higher than a second bid, but I choose Sun State because the representative was very professional, came promptly, explained what was needed and how it would be done. The repair was done in a timely manner.

Several weeks later I received a phone call, it was raining. He called to check on the roof. This company wants to please and do good work for its clients. Yes, I would recommend Sun State roofing. (The one located in Queen Creek)

We started out with a repair job, after conferring with [redacted] and looking at the job the home builder did in 2002 it was time to replace the all of the curled up paper and wood caused by shabby construction. The rain had washed under the tile in 5 places causing several leaks. [redacted] completed the job under budget and excellent workmanship in 3 days in 2014.

Sun State Roofing repaired my roof on the hottest day of the year in 2015! The owners inspected my leaking roof, provided a written estimate, scheduled a convenient and immediate repair schedule (before the next monsoon rolled through) and fixed the leaky roof on time and on budget. The owner even met with my insurance adjuster on his own time to assist in the filing my insurance claim. I will continue to use Sun State Roofing and will recommend the company to my friends and neighbors. [redacted].
