Review: My husband and I purchased our window and door package on a new home construction ([redacted]) through [redacted], the fabrication and installation representative for [redacted] (also an Arizona company). This window and door package was at a cost of over $140,000.00. We have been pursuing relief from [redacted] for some period of time now. [redacted] has acknowledged the defective glass in the large sliding glass doors that they manufactured and installed and are in the process of replacing the sliding glass doors. [redacted], the installation representative for [redacted] has refused to acknowledge their part in the defective windows installed in our home. We understand that [redacted] was sold to a new owner, that the new owner is still operating under the original license number for [redacted], as well as others, they claim that they have no responsibility. The windows are dual pain, tinted and low E. There are imperfections and roller marks on the inside of the dual pains on approximately one third of the windows in the home. This imperfection makes the windows look like they are constantly dirty and when the sun shines on them it is impossible to see out the window. There is no way the installers were unaware of this imperfection. [redacted] should be held responsible to replace the inferior windows. The home is primarily windows. There are approximately 15 windows that must be replaced. I do not have a scanner to forward my full written complaint to you via email. I mailed the full complaint to the Arizona Revdex.com containing 66 pages of documentation; correspondence, paid invoices and copies of cancelled checks, etc. I followed that up with 3 voice messages to the AZ Revdex.com. I have never had a response from the AZ Revdex.com. I would be happy to mail a second full copy to you if someone would please respond to my request.[redacted]. Thank you for your assistance.Desired Settlement: Replacement of the defective windows(approximately 15) plus two panels in two doors.

Response:

The work that was done for the [redacted] was completed five (5) years ago. The warranty is for two (2) years. We were not informed of a problem until this glass was well out of warranty. The glass that was installed came from two manufacturers: [redacted] and [redacted]. [redacted] has agreed to replace its defective product. They are doing so directly and not involving us. [redacted] is out-of-business and is not in a position to replace its product. We have met with the [redacted] and explained that the glass is no longer under warranty and that the manufacturer is out-of-business (so there is no recourse against the manufacturer as there is with the [redacted] products). We have offered to replace the glass, but informed the [redacted] that there would be a charge because this was no longer a warranty. If you need additional information, please advise us. [redacted]
