I conduct business with Suncoast Property Management almost weekly; they are always very professional and promptly take care of their vendors. Thank you Karen and the entire SPM team.
Before moving into my unit, I was required to pay a total of $1700.00 for 1st month's rent and security deposit...Which I did without hesitation.
I experienced numerous problems with plumbing, electrical and other maintenance issues right away. Some calls were addressed immediately, and others up to a week. The plumbing being the worse of them all, took many calls and at least 4 visits from different plumbers to address. Through it all, I continued to pay my rent and uphold my end of the lease agreement.
When I advised [redacted], my account manager, that I planned to move out, she offered me a free month's rent in an attempt to retain my tenancy. I appreciated the gesture but declined as I was preparing to purchase my own home.
I asked to schedule a move-out inspection which she stated would be no problem. During the weeks before I moved, my attempts to schedule the inspection were not acknowledged when I left msgs for Melissa and put off by other staff members who insisted that I needed to wait to here back from her. One went as far to say, that "No one ever asks to schedule a move out inspection. We don't know exactly when we'll have someone to do it."
After being persistent, I was given a date a couple days after I moved. The gentleman who walked through my unit complimented me on how well it was maintained, took pictures and expressed that I shouldn't have any issues as far as he could tell.
Low and behold, the office staff made sure that didn't happen!! They "made up" an entire list of charges to ensure that they used every dime of my $850.00 deposit. This included charging me for cleaning the yard (covered in leaves due to the many trees in the front and back), which I had to pay $250.00 to have cleaned when I moved into the property because they stated that it wasn't included in the move-in cleanup efforts. They also charged me for a smoke detector that was never there, a pantry door that I had submitted 2 requests to have replaced because it wouldn't stay on track, oven and carpet cleaning (although I have receipts for the oven cleaning supplies because I made sure that, that stove was spotless), and a host of other things to ensure that they justified not returning my deposit.
In my opinion, Suncoast Property Management is crooked! I am living in my new home now; thus probably won't ever require their services again. However, I have advised both family and friends not to rent with them. People who hand over their hard earned money to property management companies and/or landlords should not have to worry about a company being so hard up for money that they will take their money and make them go to court to prove that they deserve to have (what they worked for) given back to them.
Shame, shame, shame on you Suncoast Property Management LLC, and shame on you too [redacted] for being so callous by not responding to my calls (and subsequent complaint) once you found out that I wouldn't be renewing my lease!
I just moved in my new place thanks to [redacted], I don't think I could have found a better leasing agent to work with! Everyone else I have had to deal with getting in and situated has been great as well, so glad I found this place!
I was shocked to see the low rating for this company. I moved into my first home and needed assistents with my payment and this company helped me. They helped me meet someone to help establish credit and I am now a home owner is a great home that they helped renovate. I would recommend this company to anyone! A++++
