Sundance Air Conditioning, Inc. Reviews (6)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I am sorry to inform you that Sundance Inc. and Mr. [redacted] never called my realtor to schedule a meeting.

My presence there is not necessary and clearly impossible the past 3 weeks.  This is Mr. [redacted] resisting another

reasonable request.

I would very much appreciate it if you would revisit this complaint in whatever fashion you deem appropriate.  Mr.  [redacted]

non compliance with this dispute resolution leaves me with no other recourse than to either re file the complaint or ask you

to reopen it. My realtor will be happy to contact him, if that is what it takes.

When we installed the A/C unit we put a transitional piece of duct work to existing duct elbow to fit to the new unit.  We mounted the new unit on new pressure treated or redwood lumber.

1.  Using a transition to existing elbow means we did not disturb...

the [redacted] seal for the new A/C [redacted] jack.

2.  Using new lumber to sit unit on means we did not disturb any existing lumber that was [redacted]ed in and sealed.

3.  All transitional material used is completely weather tight sealed with an exterior duct sealant.

4.  We were not the only people on the [redacted] during the time period indicated in the complaint.  This homeowner told me that she had other HVAC people on her [redacted] attempting repairs before we installed new unit.

5.  If our work was substandard we should have been called out to look at the situation before a [redacted]er (supposedly) resealed our duct work.  The pictures I finally received/reviewed showed me nothing.  It's a classic case of [redacted]er vs HVAC Tech pointing fingers at each other.

6. I asked the homeowner when her [redacted] started leaking.  Her answer, "I have no idea because I moved out in May."  It is a matter of record there was 1.9 inches of precipitation between Jan 2013 and May 2013.

In conclusion, it is my belief/opinion that the [redacted] problem is in no way connected to the installation of the new A/C unit.  Almost 2 inches of rain fell while the homeowner was still living in the house and she did not report any leaks.  In addition, as explained above, we did not compromise any of the existing [redacted] seals.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Thanks for you call.  Have arranged for my realtor to send you color photos of [redacted] from [redacted]er.In looking for that email I found the entire history of emails to Sundance dating back to January whenI was first made aware of the water damage.  My printer is unavailable for comment.  I will try find a wayto get those to you.  Perhaps I can copy and paste them into a Word doc and attach said doc to an email toyou.  I am going to try this now.Doc still wants me to take things easy this means I never know how much jumping around town I can do on any given day.
My week made it difficult for me to respond to Sundance, Inc.'s complaint response.  I wanted to add the following.

On January 11, 2014 my realtor informed me there were signs of water damage near that part of the HVAC where one replaces

the air filter.  January 13, 2014 I made my first call to [redacted] who considered the situation and said it couldn't be his work.

Next I called [redacted] who sent someone out to investigate and repair.

I moved out of the house May 2, 2013.  During the summer I visited the house weekly or bi-weekly and saw no damage.  Oct, 27-Dec. 5 2013

I was out of the country.  Upon my return I battled some awful flu.  I was told we had a lot of rain during the time I was gone.

It is true that I had two other HVAC folks on the [redacted], replacing two different parts.  No damage to the [redacted] was seen until [redacted].  They were

out to make other repairs on the following dates:  9.11.2012, 12.22 & 26.2012 to fix blisters, 7.24.2013 minor birdbath repaired, 1.06.2014 for the repairs

mentioned in emails you possess complete with photos.

After [redacted] informed me that the problem was probably caused by the HVAC people I called Mr. [redacted] three separate times.  I sent copies of

the photos on 1.19.2014, 1.24.2014 and 2.11.2014.  On 2.14.2014 Mr. [redacted] responded with this email:

got your mess today. in northern Az working. be back Mon have not seen pics yet so its useless to talk to you till then. will contact you when I get back.

Sent from my [redacted] Wireless 4G LTE smartphone

Mr. [redacted] and I did manage to connect on the phone one time after that.  In that moment I could not remember the dates in question so I referred him

to [redacted].  Later I called [redacted], learned the exact dates they were out to the house and for what repairs.  I left this information on Mr. [redacted]

answering machine.  I phoned him several times in March.  In my final call, I mentioned that if I did not hear from him I would be forced to take this to the

Revdex.com.  At that point a woman picked up the phone and identified herself as Mr. [redacted] sister.  She said she would pass the message on.  I did

not hear from Mr. [redacted] and filed my complaint.

All I was asking was for him to come out to the house take a look at the damage.  Inspect the evaporation tray [or whatever it is called] make sure it isn't full of

water and if it is empty it in a safe way.  I am unfamiliar with the terminology.  I don't know what might be leaking or causing the damage that is apparent on the ceiling

near the intake--where you replace the filters.  I know it ruins my beautiful new paint job.  I know it will cause a problem when a buyer calls for an inspection.  I wanted a

little help from Mr. [redacted] on this score, a diagnosis, a treatment plan.  I do believe that when I first contacted him the unit was still under warranty.

I think that covers all of the points and then some.  Hopefully I  haven't been redundant.

Please refer to the third paragraph of message from consumer where she clearly states that her realtor told her of damage on Jan 11, 2014.  This is over a year after our installation.  In addition, the home owner mentions on page 2 of her last response that there has been multiple [redacted] issues that required calling the [redacted]er.  That being said, I feel we did not cause this problem.  We are very willing to go to the house at no charge and inspect our work to insure the evaporation tray is draining properly and the unit is functioning properly.  If this is acceptable we require that both the home owner and realtor be present.

Thank you.

I purchased a new unit from this business about two years ago and now I am in the process in selling my home. I had an inspection done on my home and they found several things with the installation of my unit. I have tried contacting the owner several times and each time I get in contact with him, his repsonse is I will need to call you back and I never receive a call back and then I contact him again and still the samething. I am trying to get this fixed, so I can pass the inspection on my home, I did not realize that I would of been having this issue with this company, because they were so eager to sell me a new unit and when they tell you call if you have any issues. WELL THAT IS NOT TRUE BECAUSE THEY DO NOT RETURN CALLS JUST BLOWING ME OF!

Review: 12.28.2012 Sundance, Inc. installed heat pump at [redacted] Thermostat replaced 12.2013 My realtor informs me that the ceiling near the retake (where one replaces the ac filter) shows water damage and the new paint job cracked. Spoke to Mr. [redacted] about problem and he said it couldn't be the HVAC unit. Spoke to [redacted], the company who replaced the [redacted] in 2010 after the hail storm. They promised to investigate. 1.6.20114 [redacted] fixes cuts in the [redacted] and other problems (see enclosed photos sent by [redacted]). All problems caused by the installation of HVAC. [redacted]er said this is not uncommon. During the past three months I phoned [redacted] several times, leaving detailed messages. I emailed the photos to him three times before he responded on 2.14.14 saying he never got the emailed photos. In that conversation he asked several questions regarding the [redacted]. Because I didn't know the answers I referred him to [redacted]. That is the last I heard from Mr. [redacted]. He is a good guy and I hate to file a complaint. He has left me no recourse.Desired Settlement: Mr. [redacted] attends to any and all AC equipment that might be leaking, has the potential for leaking or overflowing thus causing more water damage. I would appreciate it if he repaired the damage to the hallway ceiling. The house is on the market and air conditioning will become imperative soon. I have been politely making this request for two months. My courtesy has been met with silence. He can schedule entrance to the house by calling my realtor, [redacted] at ###-###-####. She has access to the house and is happy to help.
