Review: sundance pools installed a new 16x32 inground pool... company installed a light in the pool.. we gave him the name of the mason who was laying all the brick work and they were in contact throughout the job. when job was complete we called an electrcian to hook up the light. the electrican notified us that the pool was not grounded. we called the pool company and told them and was told oh geeze I forgot and we will take care of it. next phone call he wasn't so nice and said he wasnt a brick guy and didn't have the ability to do it correctly. we called him again to see about working this out and left a message on his machine and never heard back from himDesired Settlement: pay for the proper grounding of the pool which requires lifting up paving stones and cutting of the concrete underneath

Response:

I deeply regret the difficulties [redacted] is encountering with the the wiring of his swimming pool. I have had numerous conversations with [redacted] both via telephone and in person, and I welcome this opportunity to respond to the matter.

I was contracted to perform a renovation on the [redacted] swimming pool in April of this year. The job was completed on time by mid- April, at the specified price, with no problems. [redacted] and [redacted] told me they were very pleased with our efforts and paid their bill in full.

[redacted] only hired my company to replace the structural walls, liner, and plumbing for this pool. On his own, he had also hired a masonry/landscaping contractor to demolish and restore the pool deck, as well as an electrician to wire the pool.

It was never my responsibility to coordinate the different trades and separate crews involved on this project.

Although [redacted] had some difficulties with his mason contractor, my crew and I visited the site several times in the following weeks to help with problems he was experiencing. [redacted] then began to call my office asking for help with the wiring of his pool. While I am not a licensed electrician, I spoke repeatedly with [redacted] on the telephone, and even met him at his house to try and solve his problem.

On Friday August *, [redacted] and I spoke on the telephone for the last time. He insisted that the wiring of the pool was my responsibilty, blamed me for the fact that his pool was not grounded correctly, and demanded that I perform this work at no charge. While I firmly disagreed with [redacted] regarding my obligation to do this work, I nevertheless DID agree to schedule time for my crew and I to go to his home the following Tuesday August *, and do as he requested.

I allotted the necessary time in my schedule. I obtained the tools, materials, and labor to accomplish this task. We arrived at the [redacted] residence first thing Tuesday morning. As we were unloading our equipment, [redacted] approached me in the street and asked me to leave. I thought at first he was joking, simply because we had talked very sepcifically about our plan to solve his problem, and he had not called my office to cancel this job.

This particular situation is a direct result of a lack of coordination between the various different trades involved. [redacted] made a decision to hire three discrete and specialized contractors to work on his project. Therefore, I maintain that he then alone assumed responsibilty for communication and scheduling among them. With no offense intended, [redacted]s's apparent lack of experience in general contracting combined with minimal knowledge of pool construction technique have made this job problematic for everyone involved.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Sundance pools asked me for my contractors number so he could discuss when the yard would be ready for him to install the pool and also contacted him when the cement was going to be poured so he could come back and sink the hand rails in the cement. He advised us he would run the wires for the light but was unable to hook the light up because we needed an electrician. He never said one word about the pool having to be grounded. Town code is the pool has to be grounded with or without a light. He installs pools for a living and he should have advised us of the town code. and if he felt it wasn't his job how come when I called and told him the pool wasn't grounded he said oh I screwed up. And we were willing to let him come and fix the problem but the final phone call he wasn't nice and said no guarantees what its gonna look like when I am done. So if someone states that on the phone why would I let him do the job.

Sincerely,

[redacted]

Unfortunately, [redacted] from Sundance Pools continues to be inaccurate in his information. I took pictures every few days while the pool was being installed. I have a picture that shows the pool light wires were buried under the ground and came up in the flower bed so the electrican could do the hook up. However my electrican wasn't hired until August. So who buried these wires? When the electrican showed up in August he advised us there was no ground wire and he couldnt do the job. I called [redacted] from Sundance pools and he said he screwed up and would fix it. A few days passed I got a phone call from [redacted] and he said to ask my electrican is an LED light needed to be grounded. My electrican said yes. I spoke with another electrican who also said yes and the town inspector also said yes. When I had my last conversation with [redacted] he was very nasty on the phone and said he would be at my house on Tuesday morning and ended the conversation with the are no guarantees what it will look like when I am done. So after that comment I decided I was not going to let him rip up new pavers and cement. If you would like to see a few of the pictures I can forward them to you.

?

Sincerely,

Response:

I am becoming increasingly frustrated by the Revdex.com complaint process.

My unhappy client, [redacted], is free to make any statement he wishes on your web site with no substantiation or basis in fact. I am thus placed in a defensive position facing claims which are false, offensive, and quite possibly slanderous.

I have already replied two times to the exact same complaint.

I do not believe [redacted] and I will resolve this issue within the confines of your protocol.

I have suggested that he initiate official legal proceedings so that we may settle our dispute before a judge, but he has not.
