Sundancer Pools

Review: Sundancer Pools began our pool 2.5 years ago. The contract stipulated the project would take 3-4 months. After 1.5 years, progress on the pool slowed considerably. Due to a falling out between our contractor and the business owner, our contractor left the business all together in 4/13. From what the contractor indicated before he left, the contactors of the business had been increasingly overextended on their project loads. The new contractor was essentially left to honor all of the previous contractor's projects, as well as his own. The new contractor would not honor the previous contractor's decisions and assurances. We never heard back from the new contractor and repeated calls to the company have gone unanswered. We had a construction lawyer look over the project and deem the situation a case of abdandonment. The lawyer's contact with the company (7/13-8/13 ) also went unanswered. We've contacted the California State Licensing Board upon the recommendation of a licensed commercial pool builder and the Board's attempt to contact the company has also gone unanswered (10/13-11/13). When checking the company's web site, it states it is a member of The Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP), but the company is not listed as a member on the APSP site. After checking with APSP, the company has not been a member of APSP for at least over a year (since 2012). Although there is water in the pool, extensive concrete and tile work remain to be completed. Additionally, multiple licensed third-party pool contractors and masonary/tile contractors we've consulted have indicated most of the existing tile in place was not waterproofed and thus needs to be removed and replaced with brand new tile.Desired Settlement: - Cancel the existing remainder of the contract with Sundancer

- Sundancer to pay for a third-party contractor to complete the scope of the project, per our original contractor's assurances, as well as repair the gross errors in construction
