Sunfire Construction Reviews (8)

If I could do a no star review I would -Sunfire Construction (Brian) took 6 months to do a job they promised me and the contract said it would take a week, gave us a run around every time I called, they also had 90% of the contract for over 4 months, finally finished the job after numerous calls and broken promises, but one hours after they finished the job, had an invoice from them for the last 10%. Stay away from Sunfire Construction, nothing but headaches, lies and unnecessary stress.

The contractor was not responsive and had to be called several times to complete the workIn addition, I was told what they would do versus what I asked them to do regarding the work being completed I am not satisfied as the rails are loose and a safety concernIt has become very clear dealing with this contractor the lack of accountability when an issue arise, and I will definitely not be using them for future projectsMy neighbors even commented on how delayed and lax the work was based on the time it took for completionI should have declined the job based on previous customer reviews and the contractor's license information This contractor does not have to contact me as I have taken the necessary actions based on the non concurrence to my now second request to fix the rails

This customer signed a contract with us in for a concrete drivewayThe customer got in touch with us this year and wished for us to come out to look at the driveway because the concrete is flakingWe went out to
look at the driveway, which at the time there no one was at homeI responded to the customer on June 13th of this year with an email stating such and explained to the customer that since they said did not use salt on the concrete to melt snow or ice then the cause of the flaking was most likely due to the extremely long and cold winter that we had this yearWe also explained that there is nothing that can be done except that it can be repaired with an overlay but we do not recommend that because it is only a temporary fix to the problemI spoke to the customer over the phone and explained that there is nothing that can be doneIn our contracts due to concrete's temperament we do not warranty against cracking, settling, discoloration and such *** you can find a copy of our standard contract for reference

Mr.Furrow and workers didn't show up for work on two occasions without notice. We waited around not knowing that when they will show. He didn't not do all the work that he agreed. If we hadn't constantly monitor the work being done, it would have not been done properly. Mr.Furrow had a bad attitude and was disrespectful to my husband and me. We paid top dollar for the project and was treated with such a disrespectful manner. Workers were ok. Mr.Furrow, who is the owner of the company was the problem.

The stoop and step were built to homeowners request. They stoop over us every step of the way to the point that they were in the way. 2. As to the rails. the homeowner changed their mind and decided that they did not wish to have any hand rails installed. We returned the handrails since they were...

already purchased, After We returned the rails they again changed their mind and we had to go back and repurchase the rails. The customers argued between themselves in front of my crew on this matter to the point that my men stayed far out of their way. 3. the fiber mesh and gravel stated in the contract were used in the stoop. They wished for us to do the install the way that they wanted but we are the professional and there is certain criteria that we must abide by for a proper installation and technique. 4. they wished for 3 steps to be installed but the stoop only required 2 steps, if we installed three it would have been off in dimensions and would not look proper. Our contracts are 45% down 45% material drop and 10% upon completion. The customer paid us our final payment on October 6th 2014. Customer mentioned nothing and paid in full with no issues so we do not know why this has arisen. Please see attached concrete invoice that states the use of fibemesh for reference.

Review: 1. When construction platform on stoop completed the stoop was build on the sidewalk resulting in the stress level of the sidewalk and line to break pushing the sidewalk in the ground and a water drainage issue. Concrete was not applied to fix the problem and had to be manually completed.

2. Rails on front steps are loose and not securely fastened in the cement. Requires immediate fixing as a safety hazard.

3. Concerns with haphazard placement of rebar placement and non use of fiber mesh and gravel as stated on the contract. Concerns with how concrete foundation on front steps completed and weight pushing against house. Owner's concern was other projects and not the project contracted to perform. Employees stated a lot of what was asked for install in terms of materials and/or concrete work was not a requirement and old way of installing despite my request to have the concrete installed a certain way.

4. Request was to install three steps on front stoop and only 2 installed.Desired Settlement: Immediate fix of loose rails in cement, as the rails are currently a safety hazard. Other concerns will only be visible over time, but will require a fix if structural or concrete damage becomes evident.
