Sunlight Energy Systems, Inc. Reviews (12)

Sunlight Energy Systems is run by a great guy named CM - you can count on him to be honest, friendly, and communicativeI spoke to several solar panel vendors in the Phoenix area while doing my research to put 30+ panels on the roof of my houseCM was by far the friendliest and most knowledgeable person I spoke with
He came by a couple of times to design a custom plan, explained tons of information to me about solar benefits, plan options, potential problems to avoid, buying vsleasing, etc
It's been almost years since our solar install, and our APS bills have dropped more than 70%Couldn't be happier with SES and CM! I have since communicated with CM every couple of months, and he is always punctual and friendly in answering my questions and just making things happen! He even proactively checks our system to make sure it is running smoothlyThank you CM and SES!

I recently had a problem with the optimizer on one solar panel on my SES solar systemI sent CM an email asking him about the warranty coverageI assumed I would get an email back in a day or soWithin minutes, CM called me and he led me through running diagnosticsWithin hours, I had a technician on my roof making warranty repairsI am delighted with this level of customer serviceI don't know why I should be surprised, when I called for a quote in December 2013, I wanted to get my system installed in time to get it grandfatheredEven though CM was out of the country on vacation, he reviewed my electricity bill, and my roof orientation via google maps, and made a his recommendationMy system was submitted in time to grandfather, and was up and working in monthsI am delighted with the performance of the system so far, and the customer service has been excellent

I have had a Solar system installed by Sunlight for over three years with no problems, then I noticed on my remote monitoring that my system was not working I called Sunlight and within minutes they called back and were at my house hours later They found a breaker had been shut off by an unknown person I also lost remote monitoring a few days later and Sunlight responded and I worked with them remotely to verify my system was working and it was just the remote monitoring had lost contact They suggested I reboot my router and that fixed the problem I am very happy with Sunlight's response and caring attitude

In light of [redacted] complaint again, I have decided that in the interest of goodwill to dispatch my technician at no additional charge to resolve this communication situation with the inverter (i.e lost its communication ability due to the customer change of internet provider with a new router in a different location from prior installation).
Need [redacted] to let us know the times [redacted] or herself is going to be at home for our technician to be there?

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The picture shows how SES "fixed" the problem with the inverter communication with the router.  I communicated with the install tech on two occasions to let him know that someone could be at our home to allow him access to the attic for proper installation of the cable. We had two people staying at our home while we were out of town.  I also made the suggestion to run under the easement of the house so that the cable would be out of sight and protected.  This is not acceptable.  SES, INC emailed to inform us that we needed to hire someone to do the job correctly, as the cable will degrade in the sunlight.  We are still at square one--the inverter needs to communicate with the modem without "Mickey Mousing" the cabling.  Since he was sending the technician to "fix" the situation, it seems like good business practice to do the job correctly and allow me to reimburse for the additional cable required to do it properly. Unless this is how he wants the system to appear on Yelp, etc.

Regards,

SES installed a new panel at my home. Prior to the installation I was fully informed as to all the variables involved with the install and how long it could take. The staff were thorough and professional and followed through until APS installed the meter and powered the panel.

Just over two years ago myself as well as 3 others that I work with had Sunlight Energy System install solar panels. I recently had some trouble with connectivity to an inverter on my system and even before I contacted SES, the owner was aware, and already had opened a ticket with the manufacture regarding the trouble. Its great to see a company that is there long after the sale and then goes the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.
I have already referred friends to SES and will do so in the future.

I used SES for my solar panel installation after interviewing 5 different solar companies. ** knows what he is talking about, and gets things done!
I love my system he built for me, and hope to enjoy it for many years to come!
Great company.

SES Inc is one of the Arizona companies I have the highest regard. I can talk to the owner in person before the installation. I was able to discuss the potential problems such as how to avoid dirt build up, pigeon nesting, structural impacts, etc to my satisfaction. Three years after the installation they would respond to a problem with the communication board at no charge. I highly recommend this company.

Review: We purchased solar panels and monitoring system from SES approx 2 years ago. At that time we had [redacted] MiFi as our internet access. [redacted] was fully aware and set up a wifi extender that was supposed to solve the issues. We have had multiple issues with the unit/monitoring. About 2 months ago we had regular internet access with a real modem installed. I informed ** of this so that we could reroute the monitoring to the modem, as the extender situation continually failed. He said he would charge $80 to drive out and make his system work. I called today as the PV has not been producing for almost 3 months according to [redacted]. I asked him to walk me through getting the extender to communicate with the modem. He instructed us to disconnect the PV cable from the extender and try to route it to the modem ourselves. The cable isn't long enough and I live nowhere near [redacted], [redacted], etc. I am very frustrated with the lack of customer service. I purchased the modem and obtained the internet service as he recommended. Now he won't come make his system work unless I pay more.Desired Settlement: I would like for him to come make the system work before we leave town this weekend. I have been in contact with him for over 2 weeks for this situation. He knew how far away we live before selling the product. He was at our home during a home show, I did not seek the product, but he sold it to us based on "customer service" and "remote monitoring". I would like both.
