Review: First, I dropped my car off for an oil change and state inspection. I had originally called to see if I had to make an appointment, I was told that I could either make an appointment or just drop my car off. I get to the station and was told that I had to make an appointment and that I had to stay with my car. Their lot was full and they wouldn’t have anywhere to park it once it was finished. I was told that I would have to wait several hours. After telling the mechanic that I had just called twice with questions and was told just to come on over, with an attitude the mechanic said fine…just leave it. I went inside, completed paperwork and was told that they would call me once finished. Well, it was almost time to leave work and I never received a call from them. I called Sunoco myself and was told the car was ready. Went to pick it up and was told my car was rejected the state inspection for 2 reasons {front right tire was worn and my back brakes needed to be replaced}. They also gave some recommendations that needed to be done as well {so I thought}, replace the other three tires, drive belt was cracked, etc… I was told that I needed to have my brake fluid flushed and that it was leaking all over my back brake shoes, drum, etc….

After politely telling them that I would have the work done somewhere else, they got an attitude and stated that I needed to have the work done there {right away}, which would have cost well over $900. I paid almost $60. for the state inspection, labor and the oil change. I ended up taking my car to find out about tires, all 4 needed to be replaced. Once the tires were pulled off, the mechanic that we use told me that there was no way the drum was pulled off my back tire to see my brakes. Our mechanic is a big man….and he had to get another guy to help him get it off. Once the drum was off, he did inform me that the shoes were low BUT…..My car was NOT leaking brake fluid anywhere. It appeared that the SUNOCO mechanic poured brake fluid all over the outside of the drum to make it look like it was leaking. Once the drum was off, it was dry. I guess it mysteriously dried from the time I left Sunoco until an hour later when I got to my mechanic {but yet, the drum was still covered in the brake fluid}. Go figure…..

Another thing that we noticed was, I PAID for an oil change….and they didn’t even do it. When checking the oil, it was dirty. {I have my oil changed every 3000-4000 miles, without missing it} It’s never been dirty after an oil change. The plug on the bottom of the oil pan had never been removed. It was all grimy and nasty. All they did was pour oil in my car, which I could have simply done myself. I’m not upset at the fact my car was rejected the state inspection, I knew that I needed my tires to be replaced. I’m upset that they lied to me and tried to get all that money out of me. I’m upset that they poured brake fluid on the drum to make it look like there was something wrong with my car. Also, they stated that it would have been $115.-195. to have the brake fluid flushed….and in reality it only costs $69. Had they done anything that would have made my car unsafe to drive, they definitely would have had a lawsuit against them.

The employees were very rude, I had one guy there get really nasty with me when picking my car up. My stepfather later called SUNOCO to speak to the manager after our mechanic noticed what SUNOCO did wrong. My stepfather was told that the manager was not there and then he was hung up on. My stepfather called back again, several times….each time hung up on!! They are very rude, not professional and I will never go there again!! They might think because I’m a female, that they would try to get every penny out of me…..but think again!!!! I will NEVER go there, nor recommend anyone to go there EVER!!Desired Settlement: I feel as if they should at least give me my money back for the oil change, since it clearly shows it wasn't done. I will NOT be going back there to have my state inspection re-done. I will pay the money somewhere else to have it done again once my brakes are fixed. The tires have been changed, the brakes will be done in a couple days by someone else. I know that if I went back there for the state inspection, it would only be $1.00 to have it re-done. However, I do not want to EVER deal with them again.
