[redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I did not get an estimate price before they started working on my cari did ask for an estimate, how much it will be and he said that he don't know right a way but it can't be more than $ and they said they will call me about iti have said it has to be way under $ for me to be able to afford it they called and told me to comethe car was already fixed and they gave me bill to sign which was $i did not accept it and I lefti am years old and I would not allow them to fix my car for so much money if they told me how much that can bemaybe they have seen not experienced costumer in meit is odd that a mechanic can not give you an estimate for repair which is normally the price of parts + the labor per hour before they start working on your carevery mechanic in new jersey can give you an estimate and would consult with the costumer especially if the price is so highi never gave them permission to fix my car for this pricei am willing to work on a reasonable solution*

As previously explained in my first response that because of the extent of the damage to the front end I could not provide a true estimateI tried to save the hub assembly but the studs were broken off inside the hubWhen I tried to reassemble the front end we found that the knuckle was bentThis could not be seen before trying to reassembleMr*** is stating that he is willing to work out a reasonable solution but he has never contacted me to discuss thisWe contacted him and left him a voice mail to contact us back but he still has not returned that callI am unable to do anything for him if he is unwilling to contact me

I am rejecting this response because: i did not get an estimate price before they started working on my car. I did ask for an estimate, how much it will be and he said that he don't know right a way but it can't be more than 500 $ and they said they will call me about it. I have said it has to be way under 500 $ for me to be able to afford it.  they called and told me to come. the car was already fixed and they gave me bill to sign which was 1197 $. I did not accept it and I left. I am 23 years old and I would not allow them to fix my car for so much money if they told me how much that can be. maybe they have seen not experienced costumer in me. it is odd that a mechanic can not give you an estimate for repair which is normally the price of parts + the labor per hour before they start working on your car. every mechanic in new jersey can give you an estimate and would consult with the costumer especially if the price is so high. I never gave them permission to fix my car for this price. I am willing to work on a reasonable solution*

When I came to work I found Mr [redacted]'s vehicle on my lot with damage to the left front wheel , fender, and door. There was a note that said he would be here in the morning. Mr. [redacted] stated that somebody had changed his flat tire for him and while...

he was driving the wheel came off. I explained to Mr. [redacted] that because of the amount of damage and the broke wheel studs in the hub assembly, that I could not give him a price but that I would fix it as cheeply as possible and only do what had to be done to make the vehicle safe. All Mr. [redacted] said was ok. He never told me not to fix it. After saving whatever parts that I could salvage and installing the new hub, new bearings, and new rotor we found out that the knuckle was bent and we could not install his brake caliper. I disassembled the front end again and put in a new knuckle and reassembled the front end at no additional cost to him for labor; the only cost was the part knuckle. When I called Mr. [redacted] and told him the car was ready, he came down and asked if he could leave the car here for a couple of weeks till he got the money and I said it was ok. That was the last time that I spoke with Mr. [redacted]. He has never come to me and complained about anything. It's a little odd that he never stopped me from fixing his car but now that I am done he wants it back. I have been working here since 1978 and I have been the owner since 1980. I did not and do not mislead my customers. I try to be as fair and honest as possible and I work with a customer if there is a problem. You can check your records and see how my record has been for the past 36 years. If you think I was wrong and there is a reasonable solution, I am willing to work with you.
