When the vehicle was purchased in 2014 there were no issues with the car. We submitted the title to DMV with the correct actual mileage of 14,758. The DMV made an error and issued the title with 144,758 miles. The carfax automatically reported odometer rollback due to the DMV mistake. Customer...
contacted me to fix this issue. I spoke to Albany title Department and they confirmed their mistake with the odometer and stated they would reissue the title with correct mileage. It took them over a year to perfect a title. At the time of sale their were no reports of a frame damage with carfax. Customer called us in 2015 and stated that he wanted to trade in the vehicle to another dealership and that dealership rejected the vehicle for trade in due to odometer rollback issues reported on carfax. I informed the customer that if he is not satisfied with the car he is welcome to trade the vehicle in with us for another vehicle. He stated that he would think about it and nothing transpired. A few months later he contacted us and stated that he was having mechanical issues with the vehicle. We had informed him that he had no warranty with us and as a courtesy we agreed to pay for the repairs in the amount of $1,000 due to the inconvenience he had with the DMV. A year later he contacted us and stated he had wiring issues with the harness and asked us to help him. We told him we will be willing to pay half of the bill to repair the harness $1,100 out of the $2,200 even though he was still out of warranty. He had stated he would get back to us and we never heard from him. The customer had a low credit history at the time of purchase of the vehicle and has the same history now. We worked with him every step of the way and gave him the opportunity to get out of the vehicle by trading in.He stated he was very satisfied with us helping him with the repairs when he was out of warranty.
