Sunrise of Fleetwood

Review: My mother was in this facility for less than 24 hours before she was sent to a hospital, where she died. Yet I received a bill for $10,230 for the next 2 months' rent (I had already paid $9,180, half for June's rent, the other half for a move-in fee, which was removed from my bank account on 6-** according to my bank statement). I was also charged $630 more even though 1 day of care and medication for my mother supposedly cost $135. The [redacted], refused to speak with me; I was told I had to talk to someone named [redacted], who, after 3 calls on my part, took off the 2 months' rent and said she would look into the $630 charge. I received 2 more bills for that amount with no explanation attached to them. The 2nd one had a late fee, even though [redacted]'s replacement, [redacted], had assured me I would not be charged such a fee. I called her; she alternately claimed that my mother had been in the facility for 3 days (which is false), there was an extra move-in fee, I had gotten a refund (I had not), someone had helped my mother move in (my husband and I brought her there in an ambulette we had paid for and personally wheeled her downstairs and into her room, where she met the staff of the wing she was in), and there were "things in the room" that accounted for the $630 dollars. I told her that I had paid rent for all of June, paid a moving company $1600 to move in my mom's things, and got them moved out 3 days before the end of the month. She kept insisting that I owed $630 dollars instead of the $135 that I actually owe and accused me of wanting her to 'wipe my slate clean.' She later called to apologize, saying that she 'didn't know her job' and that I owed $135 after all. Less than a week later, I received what I assumed was a new bill. Instead, I found a letter requesting $630 plus a late fee in 10 days' time. I called and was told [redacted] was not in that day. I asked to speak with [redacted] and was told he would call me as soon as he got out of a meeting. He did not.Desired Settlement: I would just like it to be known that Sunrise of Fleetwood is apparently engaging in fraudulent business practices. The staff seems to be instructed to add extra charges and bully the relatives of residents who are often overwhelmed, and even grieving, until they pay. I would also like this bill to be resolved so that I only have to pay the $135 I actually owe. I'm mailing a check for that amount with an explanatory note but expect continued harassment from the facility despite that.
