In response to your letter dated 8/18/case # [redacted] here is what happenedI indeed was pruning shrubs at this building that morning, and yes there was a hose cut by the trimmer as this happens from time to time But there are some in accurate statements to the complaint This is what happened I was pruning and my crew was on cleanup behind me I had already pruned around or so shrubs when I started the one in questionAs usual Spirea plants need to be rejuvenated from time to time so they are cut down to the ground or close to itI made my first cut when I noticed a hose, so I stopped and pulled it outAfter I finished the shrub I stood up and MrsMwas behind me (Not Mr.) I said to her I had gotten her hoseAt this point MrMhad come out she turned to him and said “He chopped up our hose”, at this point MrMstormed off saying “This is B##S## I’m calling (property owner)MrsMsaid I expect you are going to replace that hose you wreckedI said no( Had I not been interrupted by all the yelling and carrying on when I first told MrsM about the hose, I would have continued my statement “I got your hose sometimes this happens I will get you a new one.” I decided it would be better if I talked to the owner and let him give them the hose I purchased to replace it I then received a phone message from MrsMstating that my men had butchered the plants in her yard too early in the year and cut the hoseAgain I decided not to respond due to the agitation of the callAt this time I called the building maintenance person to notify him of what had happenedHe notified me the owner was out of town and we could discuss it upon his returnFriday AugI received a call from MrM at my homeHe stated that his wife had called with no response to the cut hose and “other damages” so I asked “What other damages?” he said “well the guy butchered the shrubs and was peeping our window” at this point I said that is because I was the one doing the pruning(Note: This was the first time Peeping was mentioned”MrMthen got angry and said” It was you!” and further started yelling into the phoneI hung up the phone(At no point did any party use any vulgar language to any other party.) As for the window peeping issue I believe this may have been miss understood by Mrand MrsM because of the location of the shrub in questionThis shrub is located below the window approximately to feet from the ground As I was bent over I looked up to the partly open crank out window several times, to see its location so I would not hit my head on it(This has happened to me before for not paying attn.) they tend to hurt quite a bit if you do hit themWe had been trimming this particular complex for three days before getting to this building MrsMhad seen us trimming there the days prior as she does gardening at another residence in the area alsoAs of 8/24/I have talked with the building owner and he will be in the area 8/25/at this point I will give him a hose I have purchasedIn the future maybe Mrand MrsMmay take a step back take a deep breath and approach things in a more calm and collective mannerI personally am very uncomfortable with all the yelling and carrying onThis is why I removed myself from the situation Nothing good comes from it This matter could have been resolved much easierAs for the early morning start, it was am when this took place on a day that the temps were to be in the 90’s, we work outside every day and would rather work in the cool mornings than the sweltering afternoons I have been in this industry for years and have been to some schooling and also have learned in the fieldI take pride in what I do Furthermore I do apologize to Mrand MrsMfor any misunderstandingsWe will be seeing each other for years to come and I will continue to work in a professional manner Respectfully submitted [redacted] Sunrise Property Care Cc to Mrand Mrs [redacted] Cc to property owner

In response to your letter dated 8/18/2015 case # [redacted] here is what happened. I indeed was pruning shrubs at this building that morning, and yes there was a hose cut by the trimmer as this happens from time to...

time.  But there are some in accurate statements to the complaint.  This is what happened.  I was pruning and my crew was on cleanup behind me.  I had already pruned around 30 or so shrubs when I started the one in question. As usual Spirea plants need to be rejuvenated from time to time so they are cut down to the ground or close to it. I made my first cut when I noticed a hose, so I stopped and pulled it out. After I finished the shrub I stood up and Mrs. M. was behind me (Not Mr.) I said to her I had gotten her hose. At this point Mr. M. had come out she turned to him and said “He chopped up our hose”, at this point Mr. M. stormed off saying “This is B##S## I’m calling … (property owner). Mrs. M. said I expect you are going to replace that hose you wrecked. I said no. ( Had I not been interrupted by all the yelling and carrying on  when I first told Mrs. M about the hose, I would have continued my statement “I got your hose sometimes this happens I will get you a new one.” I decided it would be better if I talked to the owner and let him give them the hose I purchased to replace it.   I then received a phone message from Mrs. M. stating that my men had butchered the plants in her yard too early in the year and cut the hose. Again I decided not to respond due to the agitation of the call. At this time I called the building maintenance person to notify him of what had happened. He notified me the owner was out of town and we could discuss it upon his return. Friday Aug. 14 I received a call from Mr. M at my home. He stated that his wife had called with no response to the cut hose and “other damages” so I asked “What other damages?”  he said “well the guy butchered the shrubs and was peeping our window” at this point I said that is false because I was the one doing the pruning. (Note: This was the first time Peeping was mentioned”. Mr. M. then got angry and said” It was you!” and further started yelling into the phone. I hung up the phone. (At no point did any party use any vulgar language to any other party.) As for the window peeping issue I believe this may have been miss understood by Mr. and Mrs. M because of the location of the shrub in question. This shrub is located below the window approximately 3 to 4 feet from the ground.  As I was bent over I looked up to the partly open crank out window several times, to see its location so I would not hit my head on it. (This has happened to me before for not paying attn.)  they tend to hurt quite a bit if you do hit them. We had been trimming this particular complex for three days before getting to this building.  Mrs. M. had seen us trimming there the days prior as she does gardening at another residence in the area also. As of 8/24/2015 I have talked with the building owner and he will be in the area 8/25/2015 at this point I will give him a hose I have purchased. In the future maybe Mr. and Mrs. M. may take a step back take a deep breath and approach things in a more calm and collective manner. I personally am very uncomfortable with all the yelling and carrying on. This is why I removed myself from the situation.  Nothing good comes from it.  This matter could have been resolved much easier. As for the early morning start, it was 8 am when this took place on a day that the temps were to be in the 90’s, we work outside every day and would rather work in the cool mornings than the sweltering afternoons.  I have been in this industry for 24 years and have been to some schooling and also have learned in the field. I take pride in what I do.  Furthermore I do apologize to Mr. and Mrs. M. for any misunderstandings. We will be seeing each other for years to come and I will continue to work in a professional manner.   Respectfully submitted [redacted]                                                                            Sunrise Property Care Cc to Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] Cc to property owner
