Review: Failure to deliver windows on time and failure to truthfully advise as to status of same.

We ordered and paid deposit for windows to be installed in our Four Seasons Sunroom. We were told 2 to 4 weeks for delivery/installation. After 4 weeks passed, we were told for 2 weeks "the windows are on the truck to be delivered." We only obtained this information after our numerous calls to Sunrooms of CT for status. Finally, we called the corporate office and were told "the parts are not in to build the windows, we do not know when they parts will be received, and do not know when the windows will be built or delivered." Obviously, we were lied to when we were told the windows were on the truck to be delivered. Sunrooms of CT blamed the corporate office for the misinformation. The corporate office was shocked to hear their franchisee misinformed us. So who is lying?! We demanded a refund and were given same, but the experience was appalling and deems reporting.Desired Settlement: Refund demanded and received.

Response:

Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2013/08/21) */

Customer was upset by delivery delays, but upon request we refunded deposit Immediately. We are the contractors, not the manufacturers of the glass and sometimes delivery of materials is longer than expected.

Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2013/08/22) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

The response is inadequate and certainly does not acknowledge or excuse the events that took place. I do not dispute delivery delays being an anticipated complication; however, the basis of my Revdex.com Complaint was to document the lack of customer service (i.e., inability to reach the "contractors" and the fact that we had to pursue them for status reports) and - most importantly - the lies told to explain the so-called "delays." [redacted] and [redacted] did not keep in touch with us, forcing us to hound them for information. We were lied to several times, being told "the windows are on the truck for delivery." We requested a phone number for the corporate office so we could determine for ourselves why the windows were sitting on a truck for weeks without being delivered and upon calling were told the windows 1. had not even been built and 2. they had no idea when the parts would be available to build the windows. When confronted with this information, [redacted] blamed the corporate office saying "they do this to us all the time." For these reasons, I would not do business with Sunrooms of CT and would not recommend them to anyone.

Yes, a refund was immediately provided upon our demand, but we demanded the refund due to their LIES and POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, NOT because the delivery date was delayed.
