Review: On 3/27/12 I joined the Sun Club at Sunseekers Tanning (ST) by filling out a form authorizing monthly EFT payments of $44.99. On 6/7/12 due to a bank account # change I went back to ST to update the paperwork accordingly. The next 31 months passed without incident and I never missed a payment. On 10/7/14 I was diagnosed with skin cancer and can never tan again per doctors orders. Believing the cutoff date to avoid the next EFT withdrawal was the 29th of the month, I visited ST the evening of 10/21/14 to advise them of my health condition and cancel membership. The receptionist, Robin, advised me I was too late to avoid billing for November because the cutoff date was the 20th. I had mistakenly misidentified the 20th as the 29th and, because I had a doctors written notice with me, requested an exception. Robin informed me the manager rarely makes exceptions under any condition and she went to obtain the Cancellation Form. Robin could not locate the form stating they were either misplaced or they had run out but advised me that she would inform the manager about this predicament. My information was on file for them to contact me if needed. ST continued to process EFT withdrawals from my account so I called in March/April to speak with the owner (Paula) but she was no longer with the company. I was forced to return in person on 5/4/15. Luckily Robin was working again and remembered our initial exchange and my request to cancel but was unable to determine why the billing was not stopped or why nobody contacted me. Another worker, Cassandra, witnessed this exchange. They would again ask the manager to call me and two days later he did. Even though I am a long time client and have been very patient, he was accusatory, rude and belligerent as though I were to somehow blame. I explained everything and he claimed he would do some research. To date I have still not had a call back, resolution or restitution. Lastly I found they have been overbilling me by $6.50 monthly since 7/1/12.Desired Settlement: I want reimbursement in the amount $528.43. This covers overbilling $6.50 for 28 months (7/1/12-10/1/14) and the continuation of billing $49.49 for 7 months (11/1/14-5/1/15) despite my reporting in person with medical documents proving that I could no longer utilize their services. To date ST has withdrawn $1867.12 and they are only entitled to $1338.69. I was only able to upload 1 of 4 documents proving my claims. I can send the others upon request. Thank you.
