I am *** *.'s mother, ***, whose condo in Bonita Bay was painted by Sunset Painting We live in California and being so far away it's hard to redecorate Yes, there were some misunderstandings during the process, but once we settled on a paint color the project went smoothly We found John to be reliable, honest, and reasonable Our realtor said he did an excellent job and she was able to rent our condo days after he finished his painting

I was looking for a painter to paint a condo which my parents own Currently my parents do not live in town and I asked John to take a look at it (via phone), and give me a bidafterall, his reviews were good on line He immediately (same day) gave me a verbal bid over the phone I had to ask for a bid in writing several times, btw While it was not inexpensive, he seemed very eager to fit into our timeline and I liked that he was able to give me a price on the same day However, the first detail we spoke about was paint colors I told him that I needed him to match the current color on the doors and trim and send me that exact match (it didn't matter if it was Baher or Sherwin Williams- I just needed that color to choose the others) He said he only used Baher paints and that he would give me that exact color so I could choose other colors for the rest of the jobHOWEVER, he never got back to me with the exact color EXCEPT after they were starting work-which ended up being a Sherwin Williams colorWe emailed several times prior and I let him into the place even while the woodworker were there so I could have this informationHowever, he never gave me the color We had several conversations and I aksed it over and overIn addition, while he said he only uses Baher paints, the color he was matching was a Serwin WilliamsSince we don't have that store here, I again asked him to send me the sample He NEVER did, and then he called up my parents (even though my Dad just had open heart surgery-yes-not cool!!) and told them that he would just paint the walls white, two days after he was to have already started workMy parents were stressed out before and just wanted to be done There are a million white colors and hues are very different from each one and this should not have happened when they were paying him 7.2K My poor parents were stressed out and wanted to show the condo to realtors over the weekendThey felt they had no alternative and felt like he gave them no choiceHe didn't follow through with giving me the trim color or sample and because my parents are vulnerable (just had surgery) he used this to his advantageThis is not ethical behavior
