Bought our new Class A RV back in May from Sunset RV in FifeIt has been months and numerous service calls to the service center in BuckleyI have done my tracking and found that over 33% of the time our RV has NOT been available for our useGetting status from Sunset RV service is your job, not theirsIt typically takes me 3-calls to get anyone that has status on our RVAfter months they are STILL working on issues we found at the time we purchased the RVAre you kidding me? We have even had the RV in for a factory recall noticeOne time the service center said they were waiting for the recall parts from the factory, weeks later they stated that guess what 'our part is not part of the recall.' Imagine that
I would NOT recommend taking your RV to this service center unless you like not getting accurate and timely status and like not having your RV around for your own use

All tires on the rear of the RV I purchased were extremely unsafe as they were years oldI was told prior to purchase that the vehicle would be put through an extensive multi-point safety inspection, and it has been pointed out to me now, that those tires were extremely unsafe at the time of sale to meNearly all experts and major tire manufacturers indicate maximum useful life for a tire to be to years due to composition breakdownI've been told that old tires such as these are extremely dangerous, and very destructive to persons and property when they come apart on the highwayThis issue was brought to my attention when I put the vehicle in for regular service after miles of my own useAll tires since have a "date of manufacture" on the sidewall, and the persons performing the prepurchase inspection should have been aware of the unsafe conditionThis unsafe condition has caused me to unknowingly, repeatedly, endanger the lives of my entire family and those o

I am responding to an email dated May 17, 2017, File number # [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] purchased an RV from Sunset RV on 8/14/2016. On or about 9/20/2016 [redacted] contacted the service department claiming there was a leak in the front...

compartment. Sunset sent a tech out free of charge but the tech and the customer was unable to replicate the leak while the tech was there. The customer called again 01/11/2016 the 2nd trip out the tech found crimp clamps that where leaking in the fresh water system and replaced them. Then tech then pressure tested the system and no other leaks where found. The customer called again 3/17/2016. This trip out we discovered there was a possible leak in the dirty water system.   To fix this sunset would have to drop the black tank to check to see if are leaks coming from the top of black tank and [redacted] would have to bring the RV in the service department because this inspection cannot perform on site. The customer then brought in the run to Sunset RV on or about 5/1. Sunset has submitted the warranty claim to the manufacturer after receiving the RV in service. Sunset has got the approval from the manufacture to drop the black tank.   Sunset drop the black tank order the parts needed from the repair. The RV will be ready for pick up by the customer by 6/2.   Since receiving the email from the Revdex.com I have been in direct contact with the customer providing him updates. Sunset RV

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: Deterioration of rubber tires and the safety of those tires is not determined by state borders, but rather by passage of time. The following statements are direct quotes from an attachment included with this response
"Numerous studies written by or for the National Traffic Highway Safety Administration support a finding that tires expire in six years".
Furthermore, the following auto manufacturers have formally included notice to owners via owners manuals that tires expire and become unsafe after six years....Audi, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Jeep, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, Pontiac, Porsche, Toyota, and Volkswagon. That warning reads "Tires should be replaced after six years, regardless of remaining tread. Failure to follow this warning can result is sudden tire failure. You could lose control and have a collision resulting is serious injury or death. "
A large body of scientific literature supports a six year expiration date.
Extensive documentation exists indicating that the tires provided on my motorhome as delivered to me were very unsafe. I would say again as I did in my first complaint, I was told that an extensive multi-point safety inspection would be performed on this particular motorhome. It would appear that Sunset RV is unaware of this particular safety item, and is delivering vehicles to buyers in an unsafe condition.
As stated in my original complaint, I was led to believe that this vehicle conformed to universal safety standards including the tires. Had I known upon considering the purchase of the vehicle that I would need to spend an additional $1800.00 for tires to make the vehicle safe, I would have known to negotiate the price of the vehicle further. As this condition was not made known to me, I believe it is the responsibility of Sunset RV to make restitution to me for the cost of the tires including the improper front tires installed on the vehicle. If they are going to claim "safety inspection", they need to be liable for making delivery of an unsafe vehicle.

Sincerely,[redacted]
