Being a former union carpenter, the job that these men did came out better than I expected. They were very professional ;they protected my landscaping and air conditioning compressor during the demo The clean up you didnt even know they were here.they did every thing they said they were going to doI have already my recomendtion to other people when asked

Dear: Lisa [redacted] /Revdex.com We thank you for your business, it is our goal to provide our customers with the best service that we canAlthough we understand your frustration we feel it is unfair to slander our company just because the outcome of your roof assessment is not what you where expecting to hear On Friday 01/22/we spoke with Mrs [redacted] and heard her concerns about her roof and informed her that someone will contact her as soon as the weather permitted , being that is not safe to get on the roof during winter conditions and we want to do a thorough inspection (outside and inside) Which is why until Wednesday 01/27/no one had scheduled the roof inspection because we where waiting for all the snow to melt from the roof for safety reasons before scheduling an inspection as was told to her on our previous conversations , and we thought it unnecessary to call her every day to inform her of thatWhich is why we were confused that on that same day she decided to put a negative review on the Revdex.comIn spite of that and because we care about our customers, that same day on Wednesday 01/27/we agreed to come out the following day Thursday 01/28/and inspect her roof in spite of the weather On Thursday 01/28/we conducted an inspection in the property located at [redacted] Bartlett, IL She had informed informed us that she was in the process of selling the house and that an inspector had gone up into her attic and found water leaks and small icicles forming in the nails that are holding the shinglesBeing that it is the middle of winter and there has been no rain we did a thorough inspection on the roof trying to find where the leak was coming from and found nothing wrong with the exteriorOn the attic inspection we confirmed what was observed by Mrs [redacted] , that there were water marks and frosting on the tips of the nails etcon what seemed to us to be a clear problem with: condensation/ Ice damming (moisture transported from the heated portion of the home into the unheated attic via airflow), the most common and obvious signs are on the underside roof boards water droplets or frost, frost on ends of roofing nails that have penetrated plywood roof sheathing and mold growth coverings We concluded that there was a clear problem of attic condensation and ice damming. The three major causes being leakage of heated air into unheated attic spaces, too little attic insulation, and/or poor installation of attic insulation and inadequate attic ventilationMrs [redacted] currently has a continuous ridge vent ventilation which is enough to insure proper air flow at the highest level which we installed as part of the shingles installationWhile we agree that Mrs [redacted] does have a very serious issue in her home we however found that is not due to improper installation of the roof shingles a job Mrs [redacted] hired us to do close to years ago of which there where never any issuesShe is partly correct though as expressed in her complaint “this is from improper insulation of the roof” we would correct that though, in that is partly from “improper attic insulation” a job we were not hired to do.We would recommend that in order to correct the issue a couple of steps be taken -Prevent warm air in living spaces from infiltrating into the attic with a good air barrier between the heated portion of the house and the atticPrevent conductive heat loss between living areas of the home and the unheated attic by making certain that attic insulation levels are adequate and that insulation is correctly installedProvide ventilation of non heated attic spaces, there is currently a continuous ridge vent ventilation that was installed as part of the shingle replacement which is sufficient to insure proper air flow at the highest level, a continuous unobstructed soffit vent is recommended for the roof edge level(on many occasions soffit vents are covered with insulation on the inside defeating its purposeWe also recommend that she hire a specialist in attic spaces who can diagnose the attic air-leakage rates and insulation We apologize that our findings are not what Mrs [redacted] wanted to hear , many homeowners misinterpret a dripping or water stained ceiling as signs that the roof cover is defective or has a roof leak In this instance, the real culprit is not a breech in the roof, but the consequence of ineffective ventilation of the roof space combined with excessive air leakage., we do go out there on service calls with the intention of trying to find solutions and correct any problem that pertains to the work we did , this however (Condensation/Ice damming) is an issue not related to the job we did Tell us why here

I am really happy to report an extremely positive experience working with Sunshine Exteriors this past summer of Sunshine work crews installed a new roof and siding on my house in *** and did an outstanding job! From my first contact with *** and subsequent work with *** and other people at Sunshine, my project moved forward effortlessly (on my part that is) to a great conclusion I would recommend them to anyone in the market for this type of work

Great, professional, highly recommend

They were able to do get my insurance company to do a much more thorough jobI tried, but the insurance company only wanted to do half of my roof and three sides of the siding, which was ridiculousSunshine got whole roof, all of my siding, new gutters, and new skylights, just by making the insurance company do the job top today's building codesI had no idea what to say! I'm so happy that I will tell everyone I can about them!

Dear: Lisa [redacted]/Revdex.com    We thank you for your business, it is our goal to provide our customers with the best service that we can. Although we understand your frustration we feel  it is unfair to slander our company just because the outcome of your roof  assessment is not...

what you where expecting to hear .    On Friday 01/22/2016 we spoke with Mrs [redacted] and heard her concerns about her  roof and informed her  that someone will contact her as soon as the weather permitted , being that is not safe to get on the roof during winter conditions and we want to do a thorough inspection (outside and inside) . Which is why until Wednesday 01/27/2016 no one had scheduled the roof inspection because we where waiting for all the snow to  melt from the roof for safety reasons before scheduling an inspection as was told to her on our previous conversations , and we thought it unnecessary to call her every day to inform her of that. Which is why we were confused that on that same day she  decided to put a negative review on the Revdex.com. In spite of that and because we care about our customers, that same day on Wednesday 01/27/2016 we agreed to come out the following day Thursday 01/28/2016 and inspect her roof in spite of the weather . On Thursday 01/28/2016 we conducted an inspection in the property located at [redacted] [redacted] Bartlett, IL 60103. She had informed informed us that she was  in the process of selling the house and that an inspector had gone up into her attic and found water leaks and small icicles forming in the nails that are holding the shingles. Being that it is the middle of winter and there has been no rain we did a thorough inspection on the roof trying to find where the leak was coming from and found nothing wrong with the exterior. On the attic inspection we confirmed what was observed by Mrs. [redacted], that there were water marks and frosting on the tips of the nails etc. on what seemed to us to be a clear problem with: condensation/ Ice damming (moisture transported from the heated portion of the home into the unheated attic via airflow), the most common and obvious signs are on the underside roof boards water droplets or frost, frost on ends of roofing nails that have penetrated plywood roof sheathing and mold growth coverings.    We concluded that there was a clear problem of attic condensation and ice damming. The three major causes being leakage of heated air into unheated attic spaces, too little attic insulation, and/or poor installation of attic insulation and inadequate attic ventilation. Mrs. [redacted] currently has a continuous ridge vent ventilation which is enough to insure proper air flow at the highest level which we installed as part of the shingles installation. While we agree that Mrs. [redacted] does have a very serious issue in her home we however found  that is not due to improper installation of the roof shingles a job Mrs. [redacted] hired us to do close to 6 years ago of which there where never any issues. She is partly correct though as expressed in her complaint “this is from improper insulation of the roof” we would correct that  though, in that is partly from “improper attic insulation”  a job we were not hired to do.We would recommend that in order to correct the issue a couple of steps be taken . -Prevent warm air in living spaces from infiltrating into the attic with a good air barrier between the heated portion of the house and the attic. Prevent conductive heat loss between living areas of the home and the unheated attic by making certain that attic insulation levels are adequate and that insulation is correctly installed. Provide ventilation of non heated attic spaces, there is currently a continuous ridge vent ventilation that was installed as part of the shingle replacement  which is sufficient  to insure proper air flow at the highest level, a continuous unobstructed soffit vent is recommended for the roof edge level(on many occasions soffit vents are covered with insulation on the inside defeating its purpose. We also recommend that she hire a specialist in attic spaces who can diagnose the attic air-leakage rates and insulation.    We apologize that our findings are not what Mrs [redacted]  wanted to hear , many homeowners misinterpret a dripping or water stained ceiling as signs that the roof cover is defective or has a roof leak.  In this instance, the real culprit is not a breech in the roof, but the consequence of ineffective ventilation of the roof space combined with excessive air leakage., we do go out there on service calls with the intention of trying to find solutions and correct any problem that pertains to the work we did , this however (Condensation/Ice damming)  is an issue not related to the job we did.                                                    Tell us why here...

I am really happy to report an extremely positive experience working with Sunshine Exteriors this past summer of 2014. Sunshine work crews installed a new roof and siding on my house in Barrington, and did an outstanding job! From my first contact with Xavier and subsequent work with Will and other people at Sunshine, my project moved forward effortlessly (on my part that is) to a great conclusion. I would recommend them to anyone in the market for this type of work.

Due to a hail storm last year my roof and siding were damaged as well as other homes in my subdivison. I noticed most of the homes hired Sunshine Exteriors, so I did too. Not only was Aaron wonderful to work with, but he returned all phonecalls immeditaely. The work was done on time and no secret add ons. We were well pleased We also were able to sell our home fast. Recently, a tree fell on my inlaws home and we contacted Aaron. Again the work was exceptional. Do we recommed him Yes 110%.

I highly recommend Sunshine Exteriors! They redid the siding, roof and shutters on our house. They worked tirelessly to get the job done and it looks beautiful! The crew was kind, efficient and left our yard spotless when they were done.

To whom it may concern,
We where contacted for the FIRST TIME about this issue on November 2014 and had one of our technicians go...

out to assess and repair any issues that same month. We where unaware of any problems with the roof prior to November 2014 .Unfortunately the weather has not been the best and we want to make sure everything is good on the outside before doing any repair on the inside but it is definetly something we will address like I told them since the beginning .There was a bit of miscommunication due to the fact that the contact person our customer had was outside the country for the last two months. Yet our office was not aware of this.
It is our goal to resolve this matter. ASAP weather permitting .

Being a former union carpenter, the job that these men did came out better than I expected. They were very professional ;they protected my landscaping and air conditioning compressor during the demo. The clean up you didnt even know they were here.they did every thing they said they were going to do. I have already my recomendtion to other people when asked.
