Sunshine Nursery & Garden Center Reviews (1)

Review: Last year we purchased several trees and bushes etc., from Sunshine Nursery and garden center. They also planted these items. One tree, several hundreds of dollars in value began to die. I notified Donna Fernandez, the owner of my concerns. I also sent her a couple of photos. She replied that this was normal, even though it is an evergreen. I had my doubts but as she had requested, we waited until this spring. The tree looks worse now than it did months ago. I sent her new photos. I texted her. I left phone messages for her but as of this date, she has not returned any of my several inquiring efforts. I would also add, that she guaranteed all plants and trees for one year. We are till within that time period. We want it replaced

I was contacted by Mr. [redacted] last fall about the Hinoki Cypress that we planted. After checking the cypress, I informed Mr. [redacted] the inner browning was a normal process evergreens go through during Fall/Winter. I encouraged him to visit other nurseries to check their evergreens since he didn't seem to believe I was telling him the truth. I told him to check back with me in Spring.

In April, I received an email from him stating the Hinoki cypress looked worse. From the pictures I could see the cypress needed to be watered as this has been a very dry spring with no rain. An evergreen planted in the fall needs to be watered in the spring; it is evident from the pictures, Mr. [redacted] didn't water this spring. Bottom line, the cypress is not dead. The warranty only covers plants that are dead, not neglected. I told him to begin watering asap, as the issue with the hinoki now was not the same issue in the fall. Browning at the tips is a sign that the plant is drying out and needs to be watered. At no time did I ignore Mr. Muntiz. I have several email correspondences between us including my response to him this April (which he claims I didn't respond to) and a copy of our warranty which I will be forwarding to the Revdex.com for review. SunShine Nursery & Garden Center has been closed for business since December 31, 2012. However, I am honoring all valid warranty issues; our warranty clearly states what will be replaced, his cypress does not fall into this category. Therefore, it is not a valid issue covered under warranty.

Thanks Donna
