I've been to this clinic with my wife twice and both time the front desk staff was very abrasive and not welcoming at allI asked my wife about it and she said it's been the same at every appointmentToday was the worst, she walked in, said her name and appointment time and not one of the five employees at the desk said a word to herNot even so much as a good morningThis is extremely upsetting because she was being seen at the Norfolk clinic and the folks there are outstanding but it made no sense for us to continue to drive to Norfolk when we live in HamptonThe medical care is great and doctors are very professional which is what we're here for anyway

I had an Appointment to see Dr Silab in the retina, macula clinic of Virginia Eye Consultants, Norfolk clinic, in preparation for cataract surgery.. I arrived 30 minutes early as they request in their instructions. My appointment was for 9:30 AM. I was immediately taken back to have my eyes dilated then left to sit in the waiting area with many other patients. I was finally seen at 11:02AM. I told Dr. Silab that I didn't appreciate the long wait. He then began to lecture me on industry standard practice for retina specialists which requires 30 minutes for the dilation drops to work, thus my long wait was excusable, After he read my chart and saw that I had retina work done elsewhere he began to apologize for the long wait since I had experience with standard retina specialist practice elsewhere, where drs without ARROGANT ATTITUDES have respect for their patients time.

To be fair, this portion of my review is for the retina/macula clinic and not the other areas of Virginia Eye consultants

Virginia Eye Consultants Norfolk clinic performed the cataract surgery on January 13 2016. My vision is actually worse now than before the surgery confirmed by a visit to my regular eye specialist today the 22 January 2016.
