Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint Bed bugs are not like other pests that can be treated by normal, preventative extermination I appreciate that you called in an exterminator to treat the bedbugs in the unit that my sister was to check in to However that does not mean that I wanted to stay next door while this process was ongoing I am not sure why the condo association would have a policy to not refund my deposit when I clearly did not know about the bedbugs until after the days had expired Are you suggesting that had I checked into the condo and then found the bed bugs that you would have refunded my deposit? Or would you have withheld it even then The health department told me that they had no jurisdiction over Suntide III because it was a condo and not a hotel Please help me to understand what your front desk offered me? I called in the night my sister found the bed bugs and canceled my reservation and stated the reason The gentleman I talked to said that he understood and that he would cancel my reservation I stated at the time that I wanted a refund I thought that meant a full refund It wasn't until I emailed for clarification that the manager called me and stated the policy And until this correspondence from my complain to the Revdex.com, I never heard from you, sir, even though the manager said she had no authorization to waive the deposit and only you could do that She told me that you would contact me and you never did I know this must be a serious issue since the manager didn't call me as promised and you didn't call me as promised either I think that under the circumstances that I should have a full refund Regards, [redacted]

To Who It May Concern:Thank you for contacting submitting complaint from customer, however Suntide III will not refund or compensate customer based on the following:Summer is in general difficult in South Padre Island while weather conditions contribute to extreme high temperatures that unpredictably are the cause of power outages; regrettably during the summer months we have experienced intermittent power outages due to weather conditions; this sort of events are unanticipated and uncontrollable that prevents Suntide III to perform its obligations as a result of this force majeure events that could not reasonably have been foreseen, for which Suntide III is not liable at no point as stated in terms and conditions of rental

Suntide III recognizes that cancellations can happen for a variety of valid reasons; however, if guest uses unconfirmed facts to cancel a reservation outside the
window
time-frame, our cancellation/refund policy applies; Suntide III features 78+ condominiums in its rental pool, and as per policy we make reasonable efforts to resolve any
issues and accommodate guests in the most pleasing manner, and it was the guest choice to not arrive as scheduled and failed to provide a legitimate reason for
cancellation
Dispute submitted on 11/03/is unsubstantiated and illegitimate whereas event described did not involve directly customer’s guaranteed reservation.

Bed bugs are not like other pests that can be treated by normal, preventative extermination.  I appreciate that you called in an exterminator to treat the bedbugs in the unit that my sister was to check in to.  However that does not mean that I wanted to stay next door while this process was ongoing.
 
I am not sure why the condo association would have a policy to not refund my deposit when I clearly did not know about the bedbugs until after the 14 days had expired.  Are you suggesting that had I checked into the condo and then found the bed bugs that you would have refunded my deposit?  Or would you have withheld it even then.
