Oak Plantation TimeShare is a scamMy family was sold a timeshare week, plus were TOLD we would also be getting an extra "floater week" so weeks a yearMy parents were able to pay the property in full from the startThe following year, any time we tried using our week, we were told it was unavailableHOW? It was our weekUpon purchasing, we were also told we could sell/rent our weeks so that we would still gain money if we were unable to use it ourselvesWhen we tried that, they wanted to charge us money to "advertise"We did just that and conveniently for them, we were unable to sell/rent our timeSO, we couldn't use it, we couldn't sell/rent out our weeks, we basically had purchase a piece of paper and that was itAdditionally, each year you have to pay a maintenance feeMy parents continued to pay despite the fact that we were almost never able to use the weeks When our family was finally able to go, my parents were horrified by the what they sawMy dad took pictures of the rooms, carpets, etcbecause they were so torn and worn out that it was hard to believe that they had been paying so much in maintenance fees only to have a resort that was falling apartMy dad reported his discontent and nothing was doneHe decided to stop paying the fees until something was doneObviously, nothing was done and eventually, after going back and forth with various people, my dad decided to just sign over the deed in lieu of having to pay the accumulated feesIt was such a waste of money but he just wanted to stop with the back and forth so he did end up signing it overWe know there is not much that can be now, but if at the very least we hope this review helps someone else BEFORE making this same mistake
