[redacted] The long and short of it is that my family members and other people on our return Sunwing flight from Santa Clara, Cuba were extremely ill It has now been months since our trip and we have since discovered we had a parasite (some of us still have it) contrary to popular belief that it was a Norovirus On top of all this, Sunwing and Memories have made little to no effort to contact us or discuss compensation My husband lost weeks of work and has just returned today It has been weeks since we sent in the medical confirmation of the parasite and still no response It costs us thousands of dollars to go and we have lost thousands of dollars since then (not to mention pain, discomfort, time with family, humility and medication) We could have long term health effects as well (e.glactose intolerant) On a positive note, Cuba is awesome and the staff are amazing and the beaches are gorgeous We would go back to Cuba, but not with Sunwing because if something goes wrong, there is not responsibility assumed [redacted]

We've been flying Sunwing for many years now and find them very professional, helpful when neededThis time in November I had to get a wheelchair for my husband, it was waiting at the gate as soon as we landed We're not thrilled with the food though, perhaps simpler fare would be better e.gbagels and cream cheese or something on short flights

We recently booked an all-inclusive Sunwing vacation to Varadero, Cuba (December 23, - January 2, 2017)We booked the best accommodation possible - a room with an ocean view at the Blau Varadero HotelOur experience immediately upon arrival at the airport was a negative oneWhile we were told that we would be transported to the hotel, there was no one to greet us and no one seemed to know where we might find the appropriate transportationEventually we were directed to Bus #We walked up and down the line of buses, but did not see a single one numbered After a second inquiry, a gentleman pointed out the bus to usIt was almost two and one half hours after we landed that we arrived at our hotel Upon arrival at the hotel, we were assigned to a room with a view on the sixth floorUpon opening the door of the room, we were overcome with a sharp, musty, pungent odorMy partner immediately reacted to the smell and his face broke out in red blotchesWe returned to reception and requested a more appropriate roomThe second room had the same terrible smellMy partner then met with a managerFor one and one half hours she took him from room to room with the same intolerable smellMy partner eventually said that we would go for a bite to eat and when we returned he expected that she would find us a room without the smellAfter a bite to eat, we returned and the manager had not checked any furtherInstead for another one half hour she continued to show my partner rooms in which the smell was intolerableEventually, he asked her about the rooms that had been renovatedAt that, she said she could show us these rooms, but this would cost an additional pesosThis was most frustrating as we had booked the best accommodation possible with SunwingFortunately, however, when the manager took us to a room on the twelfth floor, there was no smell and we were satisfied with the room When we explained our dilemma to the Sunwing representative (Arianna) the next day, she said that she would inquire about the situationShe explained that she would be at our hotel between 2:and 4:PM every dayDuring our first meeting with the representative, we booked a day tour package to Havana, including the Tropicana showShe explained that we would be taken to a hotel where we could shower, before dinner and the showWe were also interested in the Buena Vista Social Club show, but we did not book it immediatelyArianna explained this show was held every Tuesday and ThursdayWhen we checked for the representative on the 26th she was not thereEventually, I checked the Sunwing book left at the hotel and discovered that the representative visits between 1:and 2:PM each dayWhen we connected with the Sunwing representative on the 28th, the new representative did not know why we were given the incorrect times for the meetingsWe again explained our disappointment in our room assignment and the additional costHe took notes, but upon returning the next day, he had done nothing, explaining that this was Arianna's responsibility, not hisIn an effort to book the Buena Vista Social Club Performance we learned that the shows were held on Wednesday and Friday, not Tuesdays and Thursdays, as we were told initiallyFurthermore, there were no more tickets available for the show In the end, the Blau Varadero provided us with an insulting minute massage (minutes for each) for our inconvenience with the roomWhen my parntner asked the Sunwing representative about our departure time from the hotel on our last day he stated that he did not know, and that we needed to check the Sunwing book The Havana excursion, booked with the Sunwing representative was also a disasterThe tour guide stopped not even long enough for us to properly take pictures of some of the sitesShe was more interested in taking us off the beaten track to show us how the Cubans really lived than show us the historic sites.The chicken and pork served at lunch this day were so dry, they were inedibleWhen we were taken to the hotel to shower, we were appalled as they assigned six people to one room to showerNone of us knew each otherThis was a humiliating experience as we rushed through our shower so the next two people could use the roomThere then was at least a twenty minute mat the hotel desk as they had difficulty finding our passports All in all, our experience with Sunwing was a very disappointing one

Just came back from Puerto PlataWe stayed at Riu Merengue and no way that place is star resortBeach and rooms are nice but the food is terribleThe place is full of local people and they are so noisy and scream like if they were fighting but that's how they talk

Overall, it's good value for money

By the present we wish to express our utmost delight and gratitude for the service during for our recent Sunwing vacationFrom the moment we arrived at [redacted] International Airport (YUL), which was a very early arrival and departure, we were greeted, with excellence, by the Sunwing representativeThe personel aboard the aircraft were outstanding, extremely courteous, pleasant and eager to service the passengersThe personnel who greeted us at the airport were exceptional and the shuttle bus was extremely clean and the air conditioning was functioning very wellWe are truly impressed with the accuracy of the information obtained from the Sunwing Vacation package for the hotel at our destinationIn summary, we obtained exceptional service from all Sunwing representatives on this vacationwe will be returning sometime in the future and we will definitely recommend Sunwing to others as well

No medication (high blood pressure pills), no personal hygene products, no sandals, shirts, bathing suit, etc,etc...nothing and trying to impress somebody ? I had no camera or a power converter to charge my phone to take pictures withThis was all in my luggage Sunwing gave me Cuban pesos a day for days to buy clothing and personal hygene productsSandals cost pesos aloneClothing, if I could find some that fit me being xxx large was difficult and expensive to findI did not go on a holiday to search out for clothing and hygene productsI spent alot of wasted time doing this All my luggage was intact except for a waist belt which I paid $ canadian The Diamond club at the resort did not give me an arrival gift nor house coats which was supposed to be includedI met other couples that got a bottle of rum and a fruit basket and house coats on arrival yet we were told there was no more left even though these couples arrived days after us To tell you the truth, I made due with what I had and Lori completely understood the situation I was in and we still had a good holiday, however, it definately could have been alot more enjoyful if I had my luggage I think that I should be compensated more than $ Cuban pesos for the ordeal that I was put through of having no luggage for weeks and for the Diamond Club expence Yes, this holiday could have been a GRAND MEMORY, however with no pictures, no clothes, no medications, wasted time, no gifts as promised, etc....I would have to say it was an experience but not a GRAND MEMORY Yours truly, Richard C J

To Whom it may ConcernDear Madam/Sirs We were spending our vacation with my wife @ Riu Jalisco, Peutro vallarta from Janto JanBooking # XXXXXXXX The room assigned to us upon arrival was on 4th floorit was smelling like the Sewer tankit had one queen bed with the one Bunk bed for kids, which had discusting set up, in addition ,trouble Bad Smell.we go to Front desk to switch the roomthey refused to do so .due to No Room Availability!! although there were another Riu Resorts beside that,so we requested for Room in one of themAgain they Refused.We dicided to stay in the Lobby whole night.About 1;00am next day they provided the room on first floor.It wasn't better than the first one.Bathroom Drain was Blocked and we had to clean the floor by the used Towels after each Bath.The Towels were so Old and Torned off No Bathroom services at all, so for a tube of Body wash, Lotion or Conditionar, we have to run all the way to Front desk, and they give us one tube, and promiss all these will be available in next dayNo one cares for next dayThis story was repeated for all our vacasion week The cleaness of the room was Horrible.the bed Sheets never changed, also the Pads on the beds were Crinkles by each movements We were told by the Agent as well as our front desk,we can use the Facilities in Other Rius.After we walked to Riu Palace, they stoped us to go to Swiming Poolwe request to talk to Manager in chargeHe came and was so RudAlthough he stoped us to use the Pool, he also ordered the Security to Escort us outside the Resort by minutes!! His name was JOAQUIM GD We didn't have Experienced such as Horrible Vacation Ever with Sunwing or any other Travel Agenciesat allOur vacation and Money we spent was Destroyed this timeRegards [redacted] J

We flew with Sunwing on August from Vancouver to TorontoOur outbound fight was delayed hours which was an inconvenience but not the biggest issue of the tripComing back to Vancouver my suitcase was sent to Amsterdam instead of Vancouverwe waited for my bag at the airportit never arrivedwhen trying to find a sunwing rep the [redacted] reps had to flush her out of hidingfinally without much help from the sunwing employee we rushed to catch our next flight but we were unable to continue as the gate was closed I had gone ahead and had received our boarding passes and luggage tags had been printed by the [redacted] agent all we need was to check in but sunwing made that impossiblewhen contacting Sunwing they are not going to help or compestate us for our lost flights back to Vancouver Island [redacted]

We've recently gone on a vacation to Cuba at an all inclusive resort planned through SunwingWe purchased insurance for this trip, the platinum worry-free insurance, and this was not upheldWe became horribly ill after getting food poisoning after consuming the food at the resort, and had to seek medical attention as well as purchase medicineNone of this was covered, and was informed by a SUNWING representative that the coverage is not valid at the resortIt says it covers medical but if this doesn't apply then why would we ever bother to spend the money if its worthless? Either this is advertising or someone is lying

I flew Sunwing to Marea del Portillo, Manzanillo, Cuba on Nov , for a one week holiday I had purchased the $insurance just in case but did not need to use it luckily Flight down was great and hotel was really good for a star On our trip, someone passed away and I wanted to state how impressed I was with the Sunwing rep, Elena, who handled everything Although I did not know the deceased, his widow was looked after by staff, and the rep arranged the visit home with VIP and she was met by Canadian Customs At no time did she have to be alone or face anything alone in what is the worst nightmare of any traveller Nobody likes to think of being in such a situation but I was very impressed with the support and coordination of Sunwing staff in Cuba and in Canada I have travelled with Sunwing about times in the past years and never had a bad experience One time we were stranded in Cuba due to a storm in Toronto and our Swg rep came to the rescue, got us great hotel rooms and made sure we could take our duty free back through customs (they wanted to confiscate it! Nooo!) Unlike Westjet, they give you a free movie instead of renting an iPad; I like listening to [redacted] croon those jazz tunes! And who doesn't like a free glass of bubbly to start their vacation? Very pleased Plan to travel SWG again to Manzanillo next time

I made the decision to purchase a package with signature vacations based on travel times I wanted to ensure we could maximize days and that the arrival/departure times were within the hotel's check in/out policy Since purchasing the flight has been changed/delayed twice, now departing hours later than what I purchased I understand some flight changes are necessary but this beyond reasonableNow we are left with a flight time we do not want and incurring extra costs as it is way beyond the check out time I made this purchase in good faith and expected to have sunwing/signature deliver the package I agreed to or provide other optionsInstead they have taken advantage of the fact this paid for and completely changed our vacation plans [redacted] I paid for one thing, but am stuck with something I don't want

[redacted] Families work hard for their money and should be able to shop with some assurance that their price they paid is protected and the company should provide customer service to honor that, we booked at trip days ago and weeks later the price dropped by over $and we were basically laughed at with a too bad for you

I was researching deals and vouchers for Sunwing and came across the Revdex.com Sunwing review pageI noticed that there are ZERO positive reviewsSo I want to leave one I've used Sunwing and another similar competitor airlineSungwing's experience was better hands downThe takeoff and landing were both smooth and the flight attendants were pleasantThe food and drinks served were complimentaryI don't drink alcohol, so I'm not sure about that, but they did offer glass of champagne to everyone for free I filled out their customer review card and received a $voucher which I just used to book another vacationThe voucher stated that you needed to email it to a certain address (which I did, I booked online so no agent was used)Within a few days I received the $credit on my visaNo problems While at the resort, the Sunwing representative was SUPER nice and knowledgeableHe made our orientation fun and excitingWe booked our excursions because of how great the trips were explained by him We had ZERO problems and just 100% funWe will be flying with Sunwing again on September 23, and are excited to do so!

Just a quick mention about my latest Sunwing experienceI was in Manzanillo Cuba for weeks at the end of November and I had a great timeThe flight personnel was very professional, the hotel staff was way beyond my expectations (a special shout out to Elena), the food not so bad for a stars, the room was clean and the surrounding area is gorgeousThis was a memorable and lovely vacation! Thanks!

My brother and I endured a horrible experience the day of our return flight from Varadero, Cuba to Toronto on Monday April 6th, We waited for two hours for a hotel bus to arrive to take us to Varadero airportWe were told by [redacted] front desk personel, that airport buses are never on time, but also that the drivers usually announce their arrival to a front desk person that they are there to pick up Sunwing customers for delivery to the airportNo bus arrived to pick us upI registered a formal complaint with federal transportation agency in OttawaThey basically did nothing for me except mediate an email discussion between myself and Sunwing before closing the compaintSunwing took or weeks to investigate my complaint and finally determined that my brother and I were at fault for relying on Sunwing's airport bus schedule carefully placed in the main hotel lobby at [redacted] , Varadero, and that we were supposed to call Sunwing to find out the real bus schedule

We had made our booking in November and was recently informed by Sunwing, Thursday, January 21, the booking has changed When changes like this happen we might be ok with it, but due to my wife's 50th milestone special birthday event for Sunday, February 7, the new booking has a departure time of @ 6am on the day of my wife's 50th birthday!! As well, we have guests that will be arriving and waiting for days before us, this is not good! especially traveling on her birthday, which means being at an airport at 3am to check in This looks like we have been bumped to accommodate others The return flight date is on Valentine's day, and I had something special planned for her, but now have to cancel, which has cost me time, effort and money, very disappointing Our only options from Sunwing is to take the new booking or cancel Well, we can't cancel due to our guests, and now forced to take the only flight out We are also surprised that the only compensation offered by Sunwing is a $coupon to be used only for future flights with Sunwing, really? Seems like an insult We'll probably not use Sunwing in the future due to this situation, but this does motivate us to inform news and social media of our experience Your sale agent who did the new booking for us did a fine job of providing certain information, limited options and defending SunwingThe customer service agent who replied to our current situation only provide company policy information

Hello I am writing in regards to my recent travel with Sunwing and I must say my first time with Sunwing has been a very disappointing experience I initially chose sunwing as my choice of airline due to the incredible rates you had and also the cost effective option of upgrading to elite plus for the benefits My first disappointment was the delay of ***From 8:25pm it was delayed to 10: Since I have planned out my trip to arrive a day earlier, I did not mind the delay too much but the inconvenience of having to reschedule my shuttle bus pick up to my hotel in Vancouver and having restaurants closed was very unpleasant added to the fact the travel took a lot of energy This email would not have been needed if it weren't for the fact of the second disappointment Flight [redacted] was also delayedThis delay was extremely unacceptable: I had planned and chose this flight so I can arrive back in Toronto at 7am to allow me to go to workWhen I discovered that this flight would be delayed till almost 2am and arrive back in Toronto at 9amI was livid I had to request for a transfer to the earlier flight that was on schedule so I can arrive back in Toronto as plannedWhat was not planned was the ridiculous fee of $transfer I do not understand why I had to pay this fee when it was your flight that got delayedIf I had known your airline experienced numerous delays, I would have naturally chosen an earlier flight It would be appreciated if I can be contacted about this matter I should not have to pay for the $transfer fee for your delays

I booked a package with sunsing vacations to huatuloc mexica dreams resort , they said they where upgrading my room to the best delux room with two beds with an extra room as we where travelling in a group of three one couple and myself they charged an extra $for the upgrade when we arrived we were put in to the smallest room with beds side by side this was 100% not an upgrade as all the base model rooms where all like this , in order to get the room that we originaly wanted we had to give the hotel an addtional $dollars totaling $for a week stay in mexico ,(THATS ALOT OF $$ CONSIDERING MOST VACATIONS THERE GO WAY CHEAPER!!) we feel we got taken advantage of big time and caused alot of dis enjoyment the first couple of days trying to get are room figured out, as welll as leaving a bad taste in are mouth the entire trip I will not be using sun wing again as I have felt no compensation from them in anyway
