Super Salvage Reviews (1)

Review: After collecting aluminum for recycling, on Thursday, October 10, 2013 I placed a telephone call to Super Salvage to inquire about the price paid for recycling metals. I specifically asked how much was paid for aluminum and was told that forty-five cents(.45) per pound was paid for aluminum. So, on Friday, October 11, 2013, I loaded by metals onto my vehicle and went to the place of business. After getting on the scales and weighing the metals, I was told to unload the metals and come back to the scales to get my receipt for the weight to take to the cashier for payment. To my amazement when I saw the weight of 100 pounds and the amount to be paid was thirty-five dollars ($35.00) naturally I thought a mistake had been made on the amount per pound. So, I went to the office to inquire about the mistake and was told that there was no mistake, the price had dropped by ten cents(.10) per pound overnight. Since there are no posted prices, I believe that I was taken advantage of and this company is practicing bad business habits. Is it possible to ask that they be required to post prices per pound for metals so that customers can decide if the want to do business with this company before they unload their metals from their vehicles? I have no other recourse than to ask for a full and complete investigation into this matter. Please help!! Thank You.Desired Settlement: I would like to request a refund of ten dollars ($10.00), the difference in the amount that was paid and the amount that was quoted (Thursday, October 10, 2013) as paying forth-five cents(.45) per pound. If needed, I have my receipt for the amount that was paid to me.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response for the following reasons, First, the company did not address the issue of why when I called on October 10, 2013 to inquire about the rate paid per pound for aluminum cans and I was told that the rate paid was $0.45 cents per pound, but after arriving at the business the very next day and after weighing and unloading the cans, I was then told that I would be paid only $0.35 per pound. Secondly, the written response from the company is not legible for me to understand what the explanation or lack of really is. Thirdly, there still was no mention as to why they do not post or list the prices paid for all materials. I would also like to know why from what I am able to read from the company's response, why they are not required to fill out the questionnaire that was sent to them.

I would still like to receive the $10.00 difference in the amount of weight that was quoted to me and the price that was paid.

Regards,
